T Shop: what do users think?

Emilia Carlo: but as well as the whole process and tradition. She told us about her own experience under a tea making master and the work that goes into making great tea. Will come back every time I am in Manhattan, and if you can I would reccommend the tasting if you have the time.

John Dinyari: Wonderful and educational tea ceremony

Jordan Gittleman: A lovely hidden gem for tea in the city. I had a fantastic Dan cong over 5 steepings. The owner of the shop had a wealth of information and provided an excellent tea tasting experience.

Jacob Wunsch: I did the tea journey, which involved tasting three types of tea in multiple steepings. The owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, gave me undivided attention, and taught me a lot about how tea is cultivated and brewed. I found it a very good price for an hour with an expert and many glasses of unusual and delicious tea. Can’t wait to go again.

Steven Mingus: Great tea shop with extremely knowledgeable owner. Comfortable and friendly place to ask some detailed tea questions. Her recommendations were excellent, and the tea selection itself is very high quality. I visited the physical location and have now begun ordering tea from her for home as well

Harry Kaufman: Nisha was an excellent tea host. My girlfriend and I had a lovely time, sipped some incredible tea, and got a million questions answered. Great experience and extremely affordable for how much fun it is

Wesley Runnels: Had a great time with Nishan who explained a lot about the history and production of tea! He guided us through a couple of tastings. They have a wide selection of teas from mainland China, Taiwan and Korea. The setting is quite intimate, being small and quiet, but it’s definitely worth visiting! Would recommend!

Percy Mccoy: Good tea, great service!

Taylor Mauldin: It's small, quiet, and serene. The attention to detail and attentiveness to our experience was so lovely. Also, the shops decor and teaware was so so beautiful. I cannot wait to come back. Will be buying online soon! Thanks so much 💝

Kay: Great quality tea... Unique selection

Zoe Sun: The guy on duty was rather unpleasant and unwelcoming. After a brief encounter, we walked out. Unfortunate.

Edward Mole: The owner doesn’t understand the meaning of hospitality. Turned us away for not having masks, months after all government mandates went away. Insisted that we show IDs in addition to vaccination certificates, and all without any indications of welcoming us to his totally empty store. Pathetic.

Danny: Lovely gem in the city, the experience was well worth it! Went with girlfriend as she was interested in online orders of quality tea leave bit ended up exploring the phyaical location on a whim - it did not disappoint. Cozy and inviting decor, to top off a very professional and engaging guided tea tastings, would definitely recommend and lookig forward to our next visit and possible purchase of that perfect tea!

Ian Lesnick: every other detail was amazing.Teresa asked about our tea preferences and experiences and curated an individual tea tasting experience, full of interesting history and information. The place is small – there was one other group when we started and another which walked in right before we left, but had the place to ourselves for most of the experience. We tried Taiwanese, Chinese, and Korean teas, which were each steeped four different times. As we tried each, Teresa shared with us the history and traditions of the teas, the significance behind different practices, and her personal experiences of visiting different tea regions across the world. We will definitely be back

Mika Nessa Chandra: hit with astonishing strength, setting it apart from nearly every other tea I've had. The feel became rounder with each subsequent steeping, and my tea expert taught me the best way to breathe after a cup to fully enjoy the lingering aroma. At the end of my tasting, I refused to try another tea because I was still thoroughly enjoying the aftertaste, which had morphed to a full juiciness that kept me smiling for at least 15 minutes after leaving the store. So why not 5 stars? I would have given 4.5 stars if I could. Truthfully this comes from disappointment that my experience was so brief. After the 5th steeping, I was told that was all the guided tasting included. I don't know if I missed this information in fine print somewhere, but I was expecting at least 9 steepings. I've done at least 12 with a gongfu-brewed high quality red tea that I would've kept steeping

Té Company: what do users think?

Taytum Fox: and also our server, Natalie, recommended the pineapple lintzer cookie and Taiwanese moon cake as pairings with the tea which were spot on. All the snacks there are delicious and went perfectly with the tea choices. Natalie was also super on it whenever we wanted more water for the tea and was super sweet the whole time!! They don’t try to rush anyone out despite it being a smaller cafe so it’s a nice place to chat while enjoying specialty teas. Great service and great teas! Definitely hoping to go back again :

Vara: Authentic & modern yet cosy teahouse serving quality taiwanese oolong teas and delicious freshly made savoury and sweet snacks. Tastes brought me right back to taiwan/singapore. Small space, relaxing and beautiful interior, very kind staff, will be back!

Freshelle Tilanduca: Service is top notch! Limited seating - just 5 tables. Ambiance is cozy and intimate. Staff were even soft spoken not to disturb other guests. Perfect place to catch up with friends/family.

Chandler Hsu: Great little nook for a kungfu tea experience. The space maybe small but it is very curated and thoughful. The service and options are great! A great place to try some amazing Taiwanese tea.Other than the extended tea options, they also serve some house made snacks and cookies. You can get freshly brewed tea to go as well if you miss the limited seating.

Joseph Doyle: Had three of their teas from the high end side of the menu. Wasn’t overly impressed with the Oolongs which is what they were featuring. Part of the issue may have been that the brewing was not precise enough in terms of temperature or time. At this price range I was expecting better attention to those details for each individual tea as I have experienced at other top end tea shops in Japan and in the best places on the west coast. Not worth the price or the 2 hour wait time. On the positive side, the white tea they served was excellent which was surprising as I’m not usually the biggest fan of white tea.

Neha Luthra: I had the oriental beauty which was a great tea. I also had a couple snacks and everything tasted so good! I would come back here again to sample more tea. The place is so quaint and Zen. It feels like such a cute relaxing spot. The service is great too!

Darrell Loo: If you appreciate tea, especially Asian varieties, be sure to visit Té Company in West Village, NYC. Following a day of exploring Chinatown and shopping in Soho, we opted for a soothing afternoon tea to aid our digestion.Té Company specializes in Taiwanese tea, sourcing their exceptional selection from small-scale farmers in Taiwan. The tea shop offers a cozy and tranquil atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to unwind with a cup of tea and a book. We decided on a tasting flight and selected from various categories of tea, including Pyrus Green Oolong, Wild Chrysanthemum, and White Peony. We also enjoyed the Blossom Dearie Black Tea.In addition to their tea offerings, the shop serves a range of Asian sweet and savory pastries that perfectly complement the tea. We sampled some sweet pastries alongside our beverages. The pineapple linzer was a standout favorite, with its soft, chewy, and delectable texture. The sesame and almond snack bars evoked fond childhood memories, while the pork and scallion biscuit proved to be a savory delight. Our visit to Té Company provided a serene and enjoyable afternoon, serving as the perfect respite after a bustling day in Chinatown.

Jayson VEDAD: Fancy tea place. Quite pricey but you need to pay for quality, I guess. They also have nice pineapple cookies.

Huaisi Cen: Have been my primary source of tea for years!

Kevin: A delightful little tea shop with a variety of tea options. Very limited seating so expect a long wait for a table, but the takeaway experience is perfectly fine.

SOONJU PARK: 완젼 맛있는 우롱티를 마셔봤어요! 두 잔 마실 때부터 온몸이 따뜻해지면서 기분이 좋았어요 감사합니다

Sean Murphy: Intimate setting, exceptional service and a beautiful selection.

Lady Mendl's Tea Salon: what do users think?

Victoria Dapkins: Lady Mend’ls has everything you dream of for a high tea. The decor is gorgeous and the all over vibe is absolutely amazing. Felt like we stepped into an episode of Bridgerton. The whole place and the people were so warm and inviting. The tables are set with the most beautiful mismatched china that makes everything look so dreamy. We did the five courses with tea pairings for each course which gives you the opportunity to try 5 out of the 6 teas. I highly recommend it as they know what tea will compliment each course and it really just elevates the entire experience. The food was AMAZING from the refreshing watermelon and coconut cold soup, delectable finger sandwiches, THE BEST SCONES YOU WILL EVER HAVE IN YOUR LIFE, creamy and smooth crepe cake and wonderful chocolate covered strawberries, macarons and petit fours. If you are looking for a out of this world high tea in NYC THIS IS IT!

Rea Joy Segura: My friends surprised me with a bridal tea party here! Best place!!Recommended dishes High Tea …

Eleonora Kukuy: Gorgeous setting in a converted brownstone. We had the 5-course food reservation, and the tea selection and food were all good. I took off a star because the tea service felt a little slow; we sometimes had to ask them to refill. Then for what was supposed to be the last tea tasting, they only filled up our cups halfway and a few minutes later cleared our tables even though we could have went for more tea. The menu offers unlimited tea though and for the price tag, it should be. They should just put a teapot down and let us pour it ourselves. It’s a minor problem though and overall the experience and ambience was good.

Chad Ragan: All style. No substance.Went for a friend’s birthday yesterday - got the prefix tea service. From the get go, drink order never came. No spoons for the soup. But the PACING of the service was ridiculous, the staff only came to our table when we had to wave them down. They lied about the number of sandwiches we were supposed to receive. So underwhelming, and my friend is British and she was embarrassed. Do yourself a favor, just get on cup of tea, a photo for instagram and leave. Not worth the price.

Nicole M: Lovely place and friendly staff .As for the scones, you get two, and they are very small, Tea sandwiches were just ok, not a great selection. The tea service was very good, with a choice of 5 different teas. I would recommend for the charming atmosphere and great service.

Hope Cornell: Tea pairings were great, staff were friendly and knowledgeable about all the items being served. Very cute and well decorated interior. Tasty sandwiches, biscuits and desserts. The avacado gazpacho was a bit salty for my taste. I also would have liked to have an even number of each sandwich since we were two, it would have made sharing easier.

Johnna Hayward: My mom and I had a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch at Lady Mendl’s! We absolutely loved the atmosphere. It really does feel like you’re enjoying a meal and tea in a brownstone!Other reviews mention not enjoying the food but we completely disagreed. It was a traditional tea time with the perfect amount of courses and all options were delicious. Our favorite part was we were able to try a variety of teas! **Think bottomless tea**Lady Mendl’s might become our new Mother’s Day tradition!

Irene Dickerson: Recommended dishes Traditional Scones, High Tea

Caroline Soloway: This place is so charming and lovely! The servers were so kind and accommodating and the food/tea was exceptional.

Dianne Jauregui: I highly recommend the afternoon tea here. It is everything afternoon tea is supposed to be - leisurely and exquisite. The quality of tea and food is top notch. There is a mix of classics and inventive flavors. My favorite by far was the freshly baked scones. However, what makes Lady Mendl’s stand head and shoulders above the rest is the setting, warm welcome, and kindness of ALL Mgmt and staff. Sometimes, afternoon tea at luxury hotels feels cold, rushed, or impersonal. Lady Mendl’s is a one of a kind experience - magical and timeless. I’m truly grateful for the memories we made at Lady Mendl’s and I will cherish them forever.

Brittany C: Beautiful experience! Thank you Lady Mendl’s!

Ippodo Tea: what do users think?

Marcel Gaida: Great place. Sad to see it go. The matcha tastes rich and smooth. Good variety of loose tea as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you have any questions.

Sarah Phan: Staff were welcoming and took care of us right away. We got the cold sweetened matcha latte with soy milk. It was creamy and not too sweet!

Gene L: Best matcha in the city

William Hall: The best matcha in NYC

Michael Feinstein: I'm a long time Ippodo online customer and I finally had the chance to visit the NYC store on Friday 6/24. My wife ordered a matcha latte and enjoyed it. I ordered a double usucha made with spring harvest matcha and found it a little astringent as I usually drink umman which is very rich and has more mellow umami. I enjoyed watching the barista prepare the matcha. My only disappointment was that the store has no seating - not even bar stools. Come on Ippodo! This is your flagship US location. Please provide seating and the full array of teas for in-store preparation.

Josie Rossum: NO DINE IN. Matcha latte tasted like water. The other two drinks we ordered were premium and regular usucha. We were confused when the server used the same whisker for all of our drinks… Also, we felt the drinks were overpriced.

Kehan Sun: Love it. Great experience.

lain galion: Be warned, it's takeout only. The prices for the tea packages are the same as the prices online. They actually have a SMALLER selection than their online store. If you're looking to buy packages of tea, just order from the online store.

Kimmy: very good, authentic matcha… if you truly want to taste the matcha, get it with no milk/sweeteners 😌😌

sdsouto3: I am grateful NYC has an authentic tea shop for ceremonial Matcha and other high-quality teas. The serene storefront is to-go only, which I appreciate. If it were sit-down style, I think it would be more commercial and lose authenticity. The service is lovely, conveying the Japanese culture of respect while being very knowledgeable. I absolutely love this shop - I am a long-time customer and I will always be a patron. Additionally, thank you for being open during the pandemic lockdown. That was greatly appreciated.

Lorena Goh: Great selection
