Manhattan Language: what do users think?

sylvie dholandre: I had a great experience in Manhattan Language. I liked method of teaching. Managers, administrators and teachers are kind and caring. Also, Manhattan Language organizes great activities. I met friendly students of different nationalities and I loved it.I recommend Manhattan Language if you want to study and improve your level of English.

Abiba Fofana: Great experience with Manhattan language! I improved my English very faster, everyday was a challenge but I did it ! Thank you so much for everything and big love on the staff who was amazing.

Rafael Lopez Fernandez: I was there in august 2003. Best experiece ever. Teachers were great, and location awsome!! Such great memories!! I remember my teachers, Anthony Bagnoly and Barbara a woman with 4 jobs 😆I survived the blackout at Manhattan Language. 😂😂😂

Faruk Güneş: Best language school location ! also Teachers are perfect.

dodododododododododo kwon: This is the best English school in New York. It was nice to meet good teachers and students!근처 다른어학원들보다 몇배는 좋음!

최정혜: I will miss the teachers and staff a lot.뉴욕에 어학원 중 저렴하고 가성비 좋은 학원입니다. 매 주 액티비티도 있어서 다양한 외국인 친구들과 많은 추억을 만들 수 있답니당 :-

Allegra: I have attended many language schools in both England and Ireland and can say that I can rate Manhattan Language School at a higher level. The courses are divided according to the level of preparation assessed by a pre-test and there are multiple levels for each. The professors are very knowledgeable in teaching, the teaching method facilitates learning, and the classes are dynamic and challenging. The professors are the best I've ever had, the classes are interesting, engaging, and fun, and every day you learn something new about the language thanks to the modern and innovative teaching method. The school is in the Wall Street neighborhood. A safe, orderly neighborhood, well connected by transportation, and the school offers a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty. The school is well organized in space it is not too big, which allows you to get your bearings well and know other students. The school offers extra activities such as theatre, museums, and NBA games. There are wonderful people working in the office at this school who made me feel welcome right away, they are available to solve problems and give information, they are attentive and full of energy, and their smiles and enthusiasm make the days beautiful. I attended this school for 5 months and would have liked to stay much longer. It has been a second family for me. The school took care of the selection of my host family and I was very satisfied. The family was used to hosting students and they were also helpful and welcoming. If I had to give a grade I would be 10/10 to the school and 10/10 to the family. I would recommend MLS without any doubt.Thank you for everything ML!!Allegra.

Saul Campuzano Ecovivir Internacional SAS: "I studied for just three weeks, but it was an amazing experience. The staff was very kind, and the teachers were highly skilled professionals. I really enjoyed this experience and strongly recommend it."

Harry HW: Very much quality school. My daughter attended the course and enjoyed very much.Addition to the classes at the school, the school offers variety of after-class activities by which students can expand the real life in English.Thank you!!

Yaneth Palomo: I called this school and I was discriminated against, the person who attended me told me that I could not be accepted to that school because of my immigration status, I am legal in this country and on a student visa. I don't admit any kind of discrimination and racism. Very bad experience.

Morayo Osseni: I really enjoyed the time l spent at Manhattan Language, everyone was really kind with me. I learn a lot , thank you for everything ! I 100 % recommend

Genki: I spend an amazing time at the Manhattan language. They have friendly and wonderful teachers! I was at the school for almost 10 months. During this term, I got many friends regardless of age or native place even the teachers became my friends because they have abundant activities. It was really useful to do it!This school is nearby Wall St. Furthermore, you can see the Statue of Liberty from the window. If you improve your English level and enjoy your NY life, I'd highly recommend this school.

Daniela Lopez Perez: Amazing experience!

Fermin Calvo Laoreno: I can say for myself that this has been a good thing for me in the short time I stayed in Manhattan Language, but it was a great help to me to enhance and learn English with the appropriate method I learned, not perfectly learned but I can say that my speech has changed a lot. When I get the chance to visit again, I will see my good teachers who patiently share their knowledge so that I can learn it. Thank you so much, I highly recommended this institution who would like to enhance their communication skills in English...

Alice Chang: The environment is great, also the teachers are friendly ~I love manhattan language school

ABC Languages: what do users think?

Parisa Re: I had the pleasure of having an instructor , Nia Hamilton for Mandarin . You cannot find a better teacher than her. So nice and patient and lovely! I hope one day she would have a youtube channel, because I have already miss her!

DM: I took an online group class to learn French Pronunciation. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect.I had an incredible experience with the talented Prof. Elizabeth.I discovered how to pronounce vowels and how to carefully move my facial muscles to get the perfect word sound.I have an American accent and never thought I could acquire that beautiful French sound. Prof. Elizabeth encouraged us to engage, ask questions, and enjoy the experience of the "art of French pronunciation." She is patient and informative. The class was fun, enlightening, and stimulating. The experience was gratifying as I journeyed to learn French with confidence! Prof. Elizabeth's teaching methods are on point and very rewarding.I will continue practicing Pronunciation and am grateful to know there is a way to sound clearer when speaking French with a native French person.

Rocío Peña: Great classes and amazing teachers! I particularly had Sophie Sayaque and she was always willing to go over again any subject we needed to practice with the best attitude! Highly recommend

Tauni Crefeld: practice speaking, translating, and conversations. I am really enjoying the classes!

Sebastian Parr: Sophie Sayaque !!! She is great

Monica Cheskin: I took a beginner's French class via zoom with Sophie Sayaque who made each class very fun and engaging. Each class was different and she taught us words and grammar that would be helpful in conversational French. I thought the games and videos she used were very helpful. I would definitely recommend Sophie.

Ryan Curtin: I've had a great time learning Russian with ABC Languages. The group classes are small and very engaging. I'd highly recommend learning with Maria - she is a great teacher and takes pride in ensuring that we make progress. After twelve weeks, I have decided to enroll again to continue my studies!

Jasmine Pierce: My goal this year was to learn Spanish for my work in South America and I’m so happy that I stumbled upon ABC languages. Their classes are affordable, they have convenient class times and my instructor Angel is incredible. He’s patient, knowledgeable and makes learning Spanish fun. Even when the content gets a bit difficult to grasp, Angel patiently explains in a way that’s easy to understand. Couldn’t recommend this class more!

Lauren Bender: Fantastic class - engaging and helpful to understand colloquial phrases and become a better conversationalist.

Meghan Vargas: I'm currently taking an intermediate Spanish class and I could not recommend it more. When I first started, I was nervous of the class size and my conversational skills but Dana is a fantastic teacher and makes you feel at ease right away. The class size is small which is great and the individual attention during the class makes learning the language very easy. Dana really makes the class fun and engaging and is SO patient! I highly recommend taking a class with her and look forward to continuing learning Spanish with her!

Jennifer Zimmerman: Dana R. is a joy to work with! She is very patient, teaches to attainable goals, provides an understanding of the nuances of Spanish, and adapts her teaching based on the needs and goals of her students. I have gained a lot more confidence in my Spanish since working with Dana. Would recommend to anyone, especially those looking to dust off their Spanish skills!

Jill Greenspan: us over Zoom.He repeats the lessons appropriately so our class can learn the material well but not too much as to make it boring. He is funny and the 90 minutes per week we spend with him passes quickly. The homework is reasonable and relevant. He is always available to answer questions. I highly recommend Angel.

Grace Mausser: The classes are small and the teacher, Dana R, is very attentive and works hard to move at a pace that works for the students!

Miguel Yriberry: Angel has been an excellent tutor.

Mandy Mueller: I have really enjoyed learning Spanish through ABC Languages. Angel is patient and energetic, which really helps our group make progress during the classes. I attempted to learn Spanish on my own in the past but never made much progress and was unable to converse in Spanish, but even after just a few sessions with Angel, I feel more comfortable with starting to converse.

Isaac Liberman: As someone that's never taken a formal spanish class, I really love the setup that ABC Languages promotes. With Dana R as my teacher - I've learned significantly more than I had when studying on my own. I don't feel overwhelmed and love the active learning aspect of the course. With most of each class being conducted in Spanish, I've grown more comfortable listening and speaking Spanish while adding to my vocabulary along the way. Overall, I'm very happy I signed up and can't wait to continue learning!

Jennifer Giangrande: I highly recommend taking a class with Dana Radeka. She has a very interactive teaching style that keeps the class fun and entertaining. I came to the class with a basic knowledge of Spanish from learning in school, but her emphasis on speaking spontaneously and conversationally with other classmates as we are learning has increased my confidence so much! After only a few weeks I feel more comfortable speaking in Spanish then I ever have. Take the class, you won't regret it!

Ismael Guzman: Just finished taking Italian course with my instructor, Giulia, she is amazing, very patient, great sense of humor, native speaker of the language and made every single class fun and entertaining with the topics that ranged from translating basic sentences, grammar, and more importantly, speaking the language without the fear of making mistakes because let's be honest, you will not get better unless you lose the fear of speaking and committing mistakes. It's part of the learning process. As for ABC Languages, the Program Managers were very very accommodating with me and even helped me switch into a more advanced level since I had initially registered for the introductory level course without realizing it. They allowed me to switch to a level that I felt was more appropriate for me and I was not disappointed. In other words, I surely recommend ABC Languages if you want to explore a new language, not many places are as accommodating as they are, and you won't regret it. You don't see that often in other places and it's great to know that they were only an email away if you had any concerns or questions, they are always ready to assist you.

Palak Bajaj: ! He has a great attitude and lights up my evening with virtual Spanish class.

Mara Nerenberg: language, and he makes classes fun and engaging. I have been taking classes with Joseph for over a year and I don't intend to stop. He's a gem of a person and is excellent at adjusting his style to students' needs.I can't recommend ABC languages enough. The staff is responsive, friendly, and accommodating, especially Alice. They have a great policy that allows you to try out classes until you find the right level for your skill set.

New York English Academy: what do users think?

Florent N: NYEA is a great school. They are located in New York City Financial District. It is such a great location. I attended ESL school at two major universities before NYEA. In contrast, NYEA offers a monthly calendar with NYC tourist events. Also, the school is surrounded by several restaurants. The food experience is better than dining at the universities' cafeteria. The admission office is very helpful.

Onais Aslam: NYEA is a great place for students to learn English language. They have great staff and faculty. Overall, It’s a great place to enhance your english skills.

Samy Acero: .Hello everyone I'm SamuelTree months ago i irrived in new york to join my study english, i choice new york english academy and sincerely I love it and i recommend, teachers are available to help everyone about informations . my teacher is maria and i like to speak with her because she have great method teach his students. she organizes activities and she make us in group to speak about different topics. that is very good to improve our English skills.

Malvina Khachaturova: I am really happy to have found this Academy and not only because they have flexible schedules that I have been looking for. They all are professionals.

Amarildo Marku: Best English learning academy , im happy that i made the right choice.

Lizzantino: Great experience meeting people from all over the world in a beautiful location! Interesting topics and great help from the staff ! I highly recommend this school.

Diana Eyler: Very nice school, helps me a lot with english

Arthur Xie: This is a very speciialized language Academy!

Zié Moussa Koné: and this school welcomed me . During a little time I learned so much from my mistakes. Today I can stand year and write down to say : for sure , my kills English getting better after 3 months . I’m still learning about what I want to have . Thank so much

Fabian Burgos: The Academy it's a very good place whit great teachers! I'm happy to chose NYEA

HaiMing X: The teacher is interested and professional.

Mirela Georgian: Pleased with the experience at the academy! It provides both academic and extracurricular learning. Last week we visited the Statue of Liberty for an immersion into the american culture.

Saad ahmed Rana: I want to tell you how much New York English Academy helped me with my English. It was really good! The teachers were great and I learned a lot. The best part was the field weeks. We got to learn English and see New York City. It's a beautiful city with many things to see. The teachers took us to important places like museums and landmarks. I also made friends with my classmates and we practiced English together. Overall, New York English Academy was a good choice for me. It helped me improve my English and I had a lot of fun exploring New York City. I would recommend it to others.

Javier Leonardo Ramirez: I have been studying for 6 month. It is a nice environment, and the teachers are willing to help you progress. Vamos por mas!

sall Racine: Très bonne école. Bonne organisation. je conseille fortement de rejoindre la classe de Teacher Maria.

Fluent City: what do users think?

Amanda Cermak: I loved refreshing my Spanish 1 skills with Soney out of Fluent City DC. Soney was so helpful and encouraging, and made classes relevant and engaging!

Beth Dacquisto: I signed up for private lessons and I enjoyed my instructor, but I decided to temporarily cancel due to the fact it is my summer vacation and I want to enjoy it before picking up lessons again in the fall. I was still charged for another month of lessons despite cancelling by the set date for the auto renew. After politely requesting a refund, their office told me that wouldn't be happening and I could defer my lessons for up to 3 months. Because I'm not exactly sure when I would want to use my lessons again that'd fit with my schedule, because I am a teacher myself and the return to school is always chaotic, this wasn't an option for me. I wanted my money back. They were steadfast about not giving me back my money, despite canceling on time.I'm currently dealing with this through my credit card company to get my money back, which is incredibly sad and frustrating they couldn't simply give me back what isn't theirs. You all really lost a long-term customer over a one month auto renew of private lessons - hundreds of dollars y'all could've gotten over months of me using your services - just so you could get $180 out of me. I genuinely hope it was worth it!

Rob Wu: I had a great experience with Fluent City.I wanted to try learning Hebrew and signed up during lockdown for an online class. They didn't have enough people and one on one tutoring was suggested to me. It did cost a little bit more, of course, but I decided to try a four hour per month plan and liked the individual attention and ended up staying with it for six months. I'm currently taking a break from lessons - to give my mind a rest; to take care of other priorities - but do plan on returning to this at some point. My huge thanks to Fluent City and my fantastic Hebrew tutor Ronit.

Sam J: Positive:Communication,ValueI took my 2nd class at Fluent City this past summer. I studied Italian here years ago and returned for remote Mandarin 1 classes with Jiayan. It's a great value for what you get and would highly recommend FC to anyone looking for a language school in NYC, and I would recommend Jiayan for Mandarin! A+!

Connie Yin: So far it's been a great experience!

Dan Foster: I enjoyed my first Spanish class greatly at Fluent City. My instructor, Eliana, was an engaging and effective instructor who really helped guide us through the foundations needed to continue toward the goal of fluency. Solitary study is definitely needed outside of classes, but the two hours of in-person practice was extremely valuable and enjoyable.

Pamela Young: My instructor, John, was incredibly patient and genuinely interested in the subject matter.

Darren K: Fantastically energetic, knowledgeable teacher!

Richard Howard: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Value

Cassidy Andrews: Khaled who teaches Arabic is excellent and thorough and keeps it fun/light even though for absolute beginners it’s a challenging language.10th floor- nice door man and really nice person at the Fluent city desk.

Todd Hall: It's been 7 years since I studied Spanish, so I was thinking this might be painful. But Israel is a great instructor. He gets everyone speaking a lot and creates a fun, comfortable environment for you to learn from mistakes. This has built my confidence and ability. I would highly recommend this class.

Izabela Qafa: Khaled is a great teacher. He’s demanding which is honestly pretty great. Totally worth the money & the time; I simply wish I had prepared more outside of classes. would recommend 11/10

Christine Rivera: I took this class to strengthen my Spanish when I started practicing criminal defense in the Bronx. I must say that this is definitely the best Spanish class I’ve ever taken. Victor takes his time, he breaks things down, and always relates everything we learn to real life situations. I also love the fact he teaches us the differences from country to country. He does all this and still manages to keep it fun and make the class laugh. It’s also very clear that Victor is an expert at what he teaches which is really admirable. I genuinely feel myself getting stronger. Highly recommend taking Spanish @ Fluent City with him — I look forward to coming back for the next level!

Robert Buchanan: Professional and engaging instructors in a quality learning environment

Lawrence Haseley: .My instructor - professor - teacher, Victor was incredible! He really made learning spanish fun and enjoyable! Beyond the information provided in the coursebook he shared with us the origin of how phrases and words came about as commonplace in different spanish speaking countries, and also what words and phrases to use to be culturally relevant in different spanish speaking communities. Much appreciated. Looking forward to Spanish 2!If your'e on the fence of whether to take a class...Just do it! You'll find a community among other classmates and the professor.

Olga Sokova: Claire is wonderful, will enroll in the next French level with her!

Marie Foos: Claire Reid is a very sweet and patient teacher who is always open and approachable whenever I have a question.I feel in this class as though we were able to start speaking and applying our knowledge in practical, everyday situations more quickly, with plenty of opportunities to speak and practice in the class. The only negative comment is that the classroom space is very tight with little room to move during the two hour class, but I realize that is a common problem in Manhattan and that is the price to pay for the convenient location.

Coucou French Classes: what do users think?

Shawn Personke: with each session having a topic

Deepthi B: Took level 2 with Coucou. French is a beautiful, yet, difficult language and the way coucou streamlined the chapters is admirable. It makes the learning process easy and the progress visible. I loved classes with Pascal, he was kind, patient and very knowledgeable. The tips he gave helped me get my pronunciation right as well as grammar correct. Can't wait to go to next level. Highly recommend for those who want to seriously learn the beautiful French Language.

Joy Siao: Thank you Coucou for helping me perfect my French before my move to Paris! I took French classes in high school, but sadly was not consistent with practicing the language since. Here are the reasons why I love Coucou:Curriculum: Coucou makes it easy and fun to digest the material. They provide workbooks and homework for you to hold yourself accountable and the artwork provides visuals to help you with memory.Teachers: The teachers are all French native speaking teachers and are so friendly and patient.Atmosphere: Living in New York City can get lonely and I like how Coucou offers social activities for students outside of class. You can sign up for Yoga in French and fun cooking classes in French. It gives you a chance to meet other students, learn the language, and culture. Also it’s BYOB in class! Who doesn’t like wine when learning a new language?Cost: Compared to other options online or nearby, I felt the price was fairly priced for the quality of service. Their online course is slightly cheaper and it works well for people who travel often. They also give you a placement exam to see which class you should be in. I am now in level 3 and I hope to be fluent very soon. Merci beaucoup!!

Cody Behr: I am extremely disappointed with this school. They never gave me my $400 dollars back. I was very disappointed with how slow the classes were progressing, and how my teacher had racist tendencies. As she kept asking everyone their race and previous language knowledge. I am still angry that I have never received my money back.

Jason Arthur: Took the level 1 class in person at Coucou. Love the way the material is presented. Carson is a fantastic teacher and she clearly explains all concepts and makes sure everyone has a chance to practice speaking. This is the best way to learn French.

Dario De Pasquale: I have loved the classes and the workshops here. My favorite teacher is Anicet!

Weijia Chen: Perfect space for learning French language and culture.

Tracy Lynn Jones: and other programs to be much more valuable.

Claire Bing: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value

Miranda Powers: Coucou French Classes is a go to for anyone who is ready to learn French. I have always struggled with learning new languages and every member of the Coucou team is very supportive and helpful. Marianne has been very responsive and insightful when helping me choose classes that are appropriate for the level I am at. I have had two teachers, Nina and Anicet, who have a slightly different approach to teaching but both are passionate and super eager to help each student in the class. They have work booklets for sale that I would highly recommend as they go hand in hand to their custom lesson plans in the group classes. Although I continue to struggle with learning French, I feel comfortable knowing everyone on the team is rooting for me and my classmates.

Beth Howes: I have just completed two levels of French with Coucou, and it has been a great experience! My teacher, Pierre, was GREAT at explaining each lesson. I am continuing with level three but with a new teacher because of scheduling problems. Thank you Pierre, and hopefully we will meet again in a future course!

Rachael Paskvan: and then went to zoom lessons with her. While she is on maternity leave I have been enrolled in an online conversation class to help me practice. They also offer tons of workshops from online french yoga, to french book club and even a french parenting class! It is an amazing community and I feel so lucky to have found it!

kiran dodiya: I am eagerly waiting for things to go back to normal so that I can meet this fantastic group of people in-person. If you are looking to learn French, then look no further !

Serious Reviewer: They design their own booklets and it's mostly grammar and translation-based. Sometimes the group class moves too slow and sometimes too fast, but that's understandable because the level of the students and the difficulty of different topics vary. If you happen to get into a smaller class, then lucky you because you'd have more chances speaking in class. The best thing about Coucou is how responsive, flexible and pleasant the school administration is, and how much of a community they are. You have to put in the extra work on your own in between sessions if you want to become fluent in French, but as far as group classes go I'd recommend Coucou.

Kaplan International Languages - New York Central Park: what do users think?

Gabriele Giamunno: Kaplan is very good school, the people, the students are friendly and for my opinion the teacher Bruce is amazing, is the best !!

Ligia Eliza Moldovan: Studying at Kaplan was the best option. Professor Megan is the best. My English improved a lot.

Lenia Estevez: Hola. Hice el primer pago de inscripción y aun no me han enviado el comprobante de pago. Ni ningún otro documento. Por favor me urge una respuesta.

Liu Janus: Very nice accommodating manager

V Flores: mi trámite ha recibido atención. La falta de atención fue en el 2o. paso, concerniente al I-20. Escribo al correo que se me indica para detallar la situación. Muchas gracias.

Esma Özdemir: The best school at NY

Davide R.: Before leaving I had asked for a family host and instead I have been placed in a building at the second floor, where not all the people living in the other rooms were students but workers. The interactions with the supposed family were almost absent and the food was left in a shared table put in a shared hall of the floor. Also the homestay was not very clean. The school has acceptable teachers but no good organisation. The best activities were soon fully booked and it even happened that an activity at the natural science museum was canceled at the last time by email and replaced with a tour in a different museum. The staff at the desk has not always been so helpful and I had to address the school director to solve some issue. However thanks to my schoolmates I also lived nice moments during my stay.

JIMIN LEE: It was wonderful.

Larry Lee: It was a happy and rich experience!

Lucci: I can meet many firends.Kaplan is very good

Damla Acar: Kaplan is a great spot to improve your English. All the workers are so helpful and friendly. The campus gives you everything you searched for. Education is perfect.

Bruna Fagundes: The school location is amazing and the staff is very friendly. I enjoyed my classes and improved a lot my speaking.

Denise Brachert: - You can always talk to someone at the front desk if you have questions- The school has weekly activities you can join

Ana Flávia Trombeta: The worst school I already beenEveryone on the school are very rude. Its a messy school, they pass a lot of students to another level just because they want. They don’t have a pattern of classes.I didn’t know any native teacher on the school and they didn’t know how to explain the things or grammar correctly.I waste my time and my money. Don’t do the same!

City Speakeasy: what do users think?

Hannah Singer: I had a wonderful experience with City Speakeasy. Sheri was extremely helpful in finding the best Spanish teacher for me. I ended up meeting with Joseph B, who was extremely kind and did a wonderful job speaking with me in Spanish. The organization is extremely efficient, well-run, and organized. I would highly recommend.

Jordan Daley: Beginner Spanish with Andy has opened up many new doors in my high school biology classroom! As a teacher in Brooklyn, I have many new English Language Learners in my classes. I've learned basic grammar and have lots of tools for building my vocabulary and translating materials. As a teacher, I appreciated Andy's ability to build a classroom culture that was comfortable taking risks and getting folks to open up. This was a great experience!

Anna Libby: WONDERFUL CLASS! My teacher was great and the class was very interactive

Harris Jacobs: I took French 3 and the paint night event was a tremendous time. I am very much looking forward to taking French 4!

Frances: I signed up for Italian 1 and was disappointed by the entire experience. The space is run down, extremely small, cramped, and has old whiteboards and outdated technology. I was in a small room with tons of people sitting with my back against another student on a side counter because the table was full. I was further disappointed with the instructor, who was lovely as a person, but after two sessions I learned the alphabet and more about her personal interest in hip hop than anything I paid to study. What's worse is that I escalated to the management team and was offered only classes that don't fit with my schedule, no refund, and no solution for a credit or consolation. These five star reviews are in direct conflict with my actual experience and I question their legitimacy. I learned more in the first 30 minutes at fluent city than the 4 hours I spent in class at speak easy.

Milissa Hutchinson: I just finished Level 2 Italian with Maria and enjoyed the out of class events that were included in the curriculum. In the 2nd week we had a class happy hour after class where one drink was already paid for and we ordered in Italian. The 7th week we went to a wine store and learned about the various wine regions alongside tasting/describing each wine. My Fiance and I are going to Italy on our honeymoon in May and I am already signed up for level 3 to continue learning about the culture. Maria is a great teacher and I made sure she is teaching the upcoming level 3!

Princey Usa: i took spanish beginners class with ashley . she is simply amazing and should say have a lot of patience to explain each minor stuffs. she patiently helped me to correct all my pronounciations. city speakeasy is best way to have fun as well as to learn a new language. really fun and awesome exp to me......

Jillian Beck: My beginner Italian class with Monique was incredible! She made every class so fun and immersive. We had music, movie clips, art, and got to perform short skits in almost all of our classes. We also got to drink wine in class, so the whole thing was very social and fun. And then to put it all together, we went to an authentic Italian restaurant in NYC where we had to put our first 8 classes together and read our personal story over some delicious Italian cuisine! Can't wait to see what level 2 Italian has in store!

Michael Deighan: If you REALLY need to learn the language these classes are great because they provide you with more than enough homework and review materials to keep you busy for the entire week - right up until next class. The homework is "optional, but highly recommended" as they say, and if you really do want to get the most out of the class I understand why they say that. At the end of both my beginner french and intermediate italian classes

Blaise M.: that includes everything from the immersion event to the textbook, to their cool reference guide. Another great included system they have that I couldn't find in any other schools was their absent & review packets. These were sent out weekly and really helped me stay on track, even when I missed a class. Will be enrolling in the intermediate spanish class this summer! Gracias City Speakeasy!

Jon Chevalier: I took French classes in high school but didn't get much out of it so I wanted to start fresh on learning a new foreign language. Recently moved to NYC, so I did my research on the different foreign language schools around Manhattan and ended up going with City Speakeasy for a Spanish class. Very glad I did! I met a bunch of cool people with similar interests as myself and we now hang out regularly. The class itself was very fun and conversational as well, and I got a better grasp on learning Spanish in the 10 weeks with City Speakeasy than I did in 4 years of HS. The practicality of their system, coupled with the amazing teachers and materials made this class a home run. I'm absolutely sure I made the right choice in going to City Speakeasy for my Spanish class!

HB BJ: Hands down the best spanish class in nyc i've taken. I've taken plenty of spanish classes around the city and none compare to this school. Very social, practical, cultural, and fun. we went on this fantastic wine tasting at a cool wine store for our "immersion event", as they call it. Very fun, social, and cultural. Will definitely be able to use what i learned in my spanish class when I travel to Spain! highly recommended if need to learn the practical language and/or are travelling to a Spanish speaking place soon!

Dan Boland: City Speakeasy is a really cool experience if you are trying to learn a new language, meet new people and/or try new things. The teachers and classmates that I've had were all young, engaging and and fun to be around. Teachers were able to foster participation and enthusiastic about teaching. Students were eager to learn. The field trips are also pretty awesome. So far I've done wine tasting en francais, and a cooking class en francais aussi! They're fun, and you really get a chance to learn the intricacies of a language, such as idioms, slang, and technical terms you might not otherwise learn in a traditional setting. I would recommend this to anyone who is young at heart, adventure-seeking and eager to learn.10/10 would language learn again.

Gabriella Nurkiewicz: and also out to dinner. My teacher Maureen was awesome! The biggest advantage of these classes are, by the time I landed in Paris, I had already practiced speaking French in these social situations. So I was over my fear of speaking French in public and making embarrassing mistakes in front of my classmates. So in France I was able to confidently speak to the order wine with my dinner, and talk on the dance floor! The other way cool benefit is that you learn all these new skills besides just the language. My friends are all impressed with my knowledge in wine and my new swing dancing moves! The survival guide that they give you is also very helpful for referencing before I went out. If you're going out to dinner, just flip to the dining out page and you'll have all the info you need to order food at a restaurant. It was also useful for teaching my brother a little French while we were visiting!Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend the City Speakeasy French class to anyone! I had an amazing time with my new friends and really loved how they teach French. Now I am taking italian 1 with City Speakeasy and it's better than ever!! Batte cinque a Monique!!!

Cameron Thorpe: I took a Spanish class having never learned anything before. Came away being able to have fun chit chat with Spanish speaking people at restaurants, in the office and just hanging. Cityspeakeasy seemed to be built for that practical type of interaction. Still hang out with my group and made new friends

Todd: The in-class wine tasting was my favorite! Really loosened my tongue up.

Greg Caragine: My class is a great time! I’m taking Spanish1 to stay fresh and to meet new people and I couldn’t be happier, my classmates and teacher are awesome to hang out with and the vibe is totally laid-back and comfortable; you don’t feel like you’re in a high school classroom

Will McPhaden: Very different than your normal language class – super fun teacher, class atmosphere, and activities. Highly recommended if you’re looking to learn a language.

Greg Goldstein: Bonne classe! Merci, Maureen et City SpeakEZ!

Jon Coccaro: I’m currently in my second City SpeakEZ class. The first French class I took was great but the new location has improved the class dramatically. The classrooms are bigger, more open, and have a study/hangout lounge. Also, my French continues to improve and their new “Absent Packets” they send out if you miss a class. Great improvements!

Collina Italiana - Italian Language and Cultural Center: what do users think?

Judith Santiago: I have been taking classes with Collina Italiana for about 3 years. I love ❤️ them dearly.I had taken Italian back in my college years, but unfortunately, I forgot everything. However, I was able to understand it if I heard people speaking.During the pandemic, I decided to listen to some YouTube Italian videos, which helped me start to remember some of the basic Italian.I then researched online Italian classes and programs and found Collina Italiana.I signed up for my first class and have since been addicted to their classes. I was able to use my Italian when I went to Italy for the 3rd time. This time, I felt great. I was able to have conversations and even made friends, too.I continue taking their classes with the goal to get fluent in Italian and be able to just not visit but live when I retire in Italy.

Stephen Shen: has been through lessons on Pimsleur, shows on Netflix/MHzChoice/Rai, and online tutors through Preply.I enrolled in the B1++ class

Ella Foshay: The Collina-Italiana is a stupendous language school. And much, much more! Its first rate teachers and innovative approaches to study make language learning a delight. The programs include visits to museums and, more recently, inspired trips to Italy led by the excellent PhD Italian art historian, Eveline Baseggio. The Director of the Collina Italiana, Patrizia Saglio, exudes enthusiasm and joy in her work and for the encouragement of students. She creates a warm-spirited community of people at the school, drawn together by the love of Italian culture.

Miss Adina's Class Story Time and Crafts: My 2 year old daughter loves this school, the teachers and the class she is in! Grazie!!

Patricia Kostelnak: Rossana is an amazing instructor! She is very pleasant and friendly to everyone. She does a great job of explaining and is always willing to review difficult rules and concepts. I couldn't be happier that she is my Italian teacher!

Mary Whiting: courses with Rosanna Copler at the Collina Italiana school. Her courses on Italian music are fun and informative. Her book club class on her novel Acqua, is thought provoking and also enjoyable. All courses are in the Italian language, which helps me with speaking Italian. I enjoy talking to the other students in Italian. I am a beginner student of Italian. She makes me feel relaxed and is not judgmental on my ability. I would highly recommend her course and this school.

Samantha Rowan: I have studied at Collina Italiana for more than a year now and love my weekly classes. My instructor is very good at explaining the grammar and vocabulary and also talking me through the ways in which Italian is different from and similar to the languages I've studied in the past, French and Spanish. As an adult who is working toward fluency, I find I am able to balance work, life and my studies - I just wish I had more time each week to read in Italian and watch programs!

Rachel DiGiovanni: .

Marissa Sangiacomo: Everyone at Collina is so warm and welcoming! The environment is relaxed and fun, and the class sizes are small so you really get to participate and practice the language. I've taken Italian before and studied it on apps, but there's nothing like actually speaking it with people. I really appreciate the way my teacher Luna breaks down the lessons and explains everything. I'm looking forward to taking more classes here!

Vicky Berger-Gross: This is my third Italian language school. One was based in a book store and while the 4 trimesters were fun and a good start, the classes were too large for conversation and they fed us grammar at a speed like drinking from a fire hose, rather than letting something settle before moving on. The second, on the UWS, was with a teacher that was incredibly disorganized and hyper-emotional; not a good setting for language learning. Collina Italiana is delightful- classes are small; our teacher is planful and yet flexible enough to respond to the interests of adult learners. She has excellent judgement RE the right amount of new material to introduce and how to interestingly review and reinforce. Written materials are excellent and never disorganized. What a relief and a pleasure.

Mike Bianco: Italian is the language of music and art and I always wanted to learn it and speak it. My grand father was from the region of arts, Tuscany and he grew up in Firenze. To me learning to speak properly is a tribute to my heritage. Collina italiana is a boutique school, I have been followed step by step, the instructors are professional, educated and respectful. The approach is fine and properly structured. Learning is easy and pleasant. The environment is inviting and absolutely educative under several aspects. Their prices are fair and the classes are structured in a comfortable and comprehensive way. I definitely recommend to meet Patrizia Saglio, the school funder to get a proper grounded orientation, she is a true gem and extremely knowledgeable. I encourage to consider this school to anyone wishing to, properly and intelligently, learn the language of Dante, art and music.

Henrietta di Domenico: , and recordings of conversations to listen to, on which everyone has to offer a precis on, again in Italian. The level of spoken Italian in the group classes is VERY HIGH compared to what I had at the other school.I am now taking private lessons with Danilo, who is a fabulous teacher. I really enjoy them and enjoy doing the homework. We do grammar and much conversation. I went to Rome after a course of lessons with him and received compliments on my Italian! At the break, the school even offers you “un po di Prosecco, caffe o te”!I cannot praise this school enough. I also cannot praise the directress, Patrizia Saglio, enough - she offers wonderful, attentive, customized, personal service!I feel at home at Collina, I am learning a lot, and I urge you to try it. SEMPLICEMENTE MERAVIGLIOSA.

Caitlyn Dewitt: because it allows us each time for participation and personal assistance during each 2 hour class. I also cannot say enough about our teacher, Grace, who fills the class with interesting facts and anecdotes as well as lots of energy. I look forward to taking more classes at Collina Italiana!

Tom Leonardis: and there is such dedication given to each student. The pace at which we learn is perfect and the learning of grammar and vocabulary is presented in a way that is fun and memorable. This school feels like home and each week I can’t wait to get to my class. Even the other teachers, outside of my class, take an interest and greet us all with such warmth and friendliness. Honestly, if you’re looking for a school , look no more!! This is the place.

Rebecca Kesten: . They are accommodating with our busy schedules, and I just love the small class size - it allows for a true discussion element every single class which really elevates our speaking skills. We have weekly homework assignments which help with grammar and vocabulary. I look forward to class every week!

C Perez-Matos: Collina Italiana is not your regular language school. Here you become more than a number and a level, you become part of a family and a community.I started classes here about a year ago. I was immediately impressed with the small class and the amount of personal attention I received.I do know have the vocabulary to properly express how amazing Cristina, my teacher, is. She takes the time to learn your interests, work, and goals so that she can target the material to that. Moreover she makes class so interesting that you learn without knowing that you are in fact learning. She has made it so that I look forward all week to my Thursday evening class. I have learned more from her in a few classes than I did from 2 years of high school italian and 1 year of college Italian. To give you an example, I have watched La Vita e Bella, many times since it first came out. I had enough working knowledge of Italian to understand, in general terms, the dialogue... however last night I watched it again, after three classes of the subjunctive tense in Italian.... and my experience of the movie was amplified! For the first time I was able to understand and to point out the use of “il congiuntivo”... and since this movie in particular is a love story based on hope and fears and wishes, it is filled with the use of the subjunctive... my mind was blown... the experience further confirmed what I already knew - I have an amazing teacher!Collina is also super cost effective and if you take evening classes you get a little Prosecco mid-class!If you want more than just a language school that focuses on giving you standard material from a book and having you memorize it, then Collina is the right place for you. You will be immersed in the culture, become part of a family/community and will be getting all this from native Italian speakers. As far as I am concerned, the best language school in the city!

Erica Zambrano: to learn. The rest of the staff I grade an A+. Never a problem with billing, attentive and friendly.Patrizia, the owner, was always welcoming and made sure the students were catered to and comfortable.Fantastic school!

New York English Center: what do users think?

A A: Worst costumer service ever, used to be so much better! Front desk lady Irina Nazarova was rude and kept showing me that I have coronavirus or something which is absolutely nonsense I felt discriminated by her attitude ! The school should consider to change the front desk employee attitude because that’s what people get as a first impression when we walk in!Didn’t answer any of my questions, simply rudely showed me that I have to leave! Hope this message will reach this amazing school employer and they will make a change, because as I said when I went to this school it used to be the best in the city, but unfortunately today what I experienced changed my mind!

Chiko Inoue: I visited this school's tuition page then my pc was infected by virus!Terrible!!!

Marcos Cortez: Es decepciónante el servicio que ofrecen

Bihter N.: So emotional to say goodbye after many years. So many good memories. I was very lucky with the staff and the teachers that I was in touch with. Everyone is talkative, friendly, loving and helpful. You'll be missed NYEC!

Meriç Topçu: I've spent almost 4 years in this school. Extremely helpful front desk and management, super fun teachers!

Youssif Fanoush: Very rude staff! The only nice people in the school are the manager and the accountant. The rest are just literally rude people! They can make your experience in new york a nightmare, even if you want to give them your money!

Irina Ivanova: The most unorganized school. People that work there are not helpful. Receptionists act like they are doing you a favor. They dont even want to answer to questions that we ask. Why are they there then if they dont help students??? Dont they know that they are getting paid bc students go there???? I spoke with few students and they are also unhappy with receptionists. I know few students transferred bc no one helped them there. Thats what i am going to do too.

Leidy Fernandez: My experience in the school so bad, the teachers are good and they try but the resources are little, they care about you pay and the administration people never listen to you, the only one that is nice and professional in how is with the students is the accounting woman, they dont care the new academic director is not nice the three times that I try to talk to her never pay attention. The restrooms so dirty and the area for the students so dirty too. Two computers that doesn't work and are full of dust. You should have good attendance in other way not vacations and you should pay. I am not going to recommend this school.

Lena: Hello everyone ,My brother and I want to share our experience. We went to TCS school in 2016 stayed there for three years, my English was absolutely zero .Today I speak fluently I feel confident speaking. The teachers are very nice and They all have no accent which makes a big difference when you're learning a new language.I highly recommend this school.Good luck to everyone

Bilal BAL: Having studied English only briefly in college, I started classes when New York English Center has been known as one of the thriving ESL schools in NYC. The courses I've taken at New york English Center set me on a path to revitalize my English language learning for good. And I can easily see how the school has grown. The courses are professional and well planned, class sizes are small and the school’s location is in a place where everyone could easily reach. I was thoroughly impressed with my experience with New york English Center. Best of all I was able to talk with the people that are in same level in learning English which was making easy to find friends.I have made some great friendships throughout my years in New York Enlish Center that could last for a lifetime. It is recommended to everyone who are looking to enjoy while learning Enlglish.

Salvo Losappio: I’m writing to express my deep closeness to Teacher Monica, who was recently sanctioned with a suspension.I got to know Monica over time and she is one of the most sensitive and knowledgeable person I met so far in New York City, an engaged artist and acute observer of the society we are living in.Without a doubt such a person is a precious inspiration among students and people who surround her and I am really surprise about regulations wanting a person of so much talent to be excluded.I have no authority to exact belief, nor do I desire it. But I have been in academic settings for years myself and can confirm that, especially nowadays that knowledge is reduced to a set of competences to be accessed and serve mob demands, all the more reason persons like Monica are very rare; she is a woman of substance and in school she can really form critical consciences.Isn’t that the competence that make all the others possible?Good luck Monica! I wish you the best. May you find likeminded people and the validation you deserve for the keen, passionate person you are.Kind regards,Salvo Losappio

Nahid Parvez: New York English Center is a good school if you want learn English. The teachers are really friendly and helpful. They will help you to know about the culture, about usa, and New York. If you want to improve your grammar skills this is the best place to attend. They have field trips once a month. If you finish the course at NYEC it can help you set the foundation for your next college or university

Naim Muminov: Great school, nice classes, and they make it easy to learn English...If you want learn about culture and language its the right school
