Greg L: Initially, I gave this store 5 stars because it is beautiful, located in a basement, and has a warm vibe. It is definitely a hidden gem, though they could use more business. However, I hope they adjust their customer service before they get more customers. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience at Uncle Funky's, and I am writing this review to share it.On Monday, I purchased a used set of trucks and wheels for $88 from the store owner, who had set them up for warp testing. When I got home, I realized that the wheels were not offset and were incompatible with my Loaded Icarus board. Additionally, the bearings were broken. The following day, I attempted to return or exchange the items, but the owner refused, saying that he no longer sells those products. Despite most skate shops accepting returns or exchanges, he was unwilling to accommodate my request. He was also condescending and rude when I inquired about the store's return policy, and other customers in the store observed his behavior towards me. Interestingly, he was friendly and apologetic towards the other customers, but not towards me.Despite his disrespectful behavior, I attempted to make another purchase. I asked about the price of the Orangatang Heats, and he quoted me $62. I agreed to the price and attempted to pay through my Cash App. After installing the wheels, he demanded $67.80 instead of the agreed-upon $62 and threatened to charge me for labor if I refused to pay the increased price. I was disgusted by his unprofessionalism and ultimately asked him to remove the wheels from my board.Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service and treatment I received at this store. I would not recommend Uncle Funky's to anyone and suggest they take their business elsewhere. Uncle Funky sold me used damaged goods and treated me poorly when I tried to resolve the issue.I’m not a monkey, uncle funky. But you thought so.I’d still give my first visit 5 stars to be fair.

Turner N Hooch: with 3 pairs for personal use.This shop has been a staple in the Williamsburg area for 2 decades.I know alot of people are salty about raffles, debating if raffles are legit or not.I can say the more raffles you enter anywhere, increases your odds.The demand for NIKE SB products has skyrocketed making it difficult for mom & pop shops to survive.I love KCDC as a shop, the new location is beautiful and well organised.When i am ready to buy another complete deck, this is my first and only choice.Thanks.

Gwyn Medina: Great local skateshop! Shawn and Miles are very accomodating and knowledgable about their skateboards. They carry brands such as Trasher,Girl,Baker, Real,and etc. They have prebuilts and you can also customize a deck of your own and give them your budget and they will stick to it without compromising the quality of your deck. They are also heavy on covid protocols especially mask wearing. Overall, shopping here is a pleasure and I will surely be back.

SocialHype Miles & AZee: If you love and care for your surfboard DO NOT take to Aegir to a dude name Craig. Save yourself from a long story, Craig fixed my board charged 3 times the price and there was 2 soft spots on the repair from over sanding it. Brought the problem to his attention, was treated with disrespect and was threatened because I refuse to let him repair again. . Just could not convince myself that a person who is supposed to be good at repair could have done such of a poor job. Hell no he was never going to touch my board again. Paid the amount, left with a board in bad shape and finally took to another person.New repair shop found that Craig's repair was not only over sanded, a layer on the rail was deteriorating. Finally got it repair NOT by Craig at Aegir, and I am now in the water surfing life away. Yes, I gave this guy Craig a bunch of money for a ripoff repair but hey look at the bright side you won't make the same mistake I made and that makes me happy. Happy surfing.

Igor Chernomorskiy: These guys went above and beyond their call of duty in repairing my creased carbon surfboard. Even fixed several minor dings on their own without charging me. My board feels like new now and I cannot recommend Aegir enough. Respect!

He didn't know the price . He tell me that one of there more expensive decks. I told him to do what ever he had to do to find the price because I wanted to buy that deck.I ask to try on a helmet that and it fit so I got that as well . I went in for some bearing left with bearing,helmet and a deck . I wish the young person helping me would never had said these are our more expensive decks . It felt like he didn't want to sell the deck or go threw the trouble of finding out how much was it . I am a big dude I was dress in a hoodie and basketball shorts . I could only guess why he didn't real want to help me with the deck .

Cocoa: I purchased custom skates back in May 2022 which I was very excited about. After working out the details of the design for my skates and getting a final price from the skate shop through ridell I paid the deposit and was given a receipt with the balance. I received a call in September 2022 that my skates were finally ready and I was very excited to see the final product. I go to the skate shop with receipt in hand only to be told that my balance was something different from what was on the actually receipt. The young lady that assisted me when I initially placed my order was not in the shop when I went to pick them up so I was told by the manager that there was a final price on my skates which was different than the balance that was actually on the printed receipt from the shop. I was charged approximately $100 more when I actually had a physical receipt with a different balance and never received an adjusted balance or total amount from them after paying the deposit to have the work started. I’ve never been to a store where I’m picking something up where a deposit was paid then to be told that the remaining balance was something else. I’ve given them a 3star rating because of how they handled the situation. If I didn’t have a physical receipt from the business then I could see them telling me that my balance was something else but because I had a printed paper receipt from them then that is what should’ve been honored.
