Andy Stone: Super friendly instructors and educational classes.
Jay S: I enjoyed the 2 workshop classes that I attended. However, the student-to-instructor ratio could be better and it's not very beginner-friendly. In both classes, I haven't been able to complete the clothing pieces bc of time and the instructor having to divide attention among everyone. It becomes counter-effective and results in a lack of completion in the 3 hours or so. Other than that the instructors are helpful and it's a great space to work.
abby cab: I loved taking classes at the NY Sewing Center; our instructor was very helpful about going over the basics and machine instructions. Their studio was spacious and has all the materials you will need in class.
Selines Guzman: It was an awesome experience, teacher was great, pleasant and kind...she even gave me some pointers on making an outfit smaller...the tote bag was used already😊
Linda Hearts: Learned so much from them, I plan to attend here more often in the future. Great staff. Great customer service. Love it 💜💛
Alexa LaVersa: I've taken a few beginner classes and I highly recommend both the classes and studio! Its such fun to create something beautiful and useful, and instructors are friendly and helpful while leading the classes at an achievable pace. The studio is a nice space, with bright windows and well-lit, and stocked with all the equipment needed. I'm definitely planning to continue coming for classes and open studio hours to continue working on projects.
Rae Smith: I went in to use the studio for a personal project while I was in town on vacation and had a great experience. Booking the time was a quick and painless couple of emails. The most difficult part was finding the place since I’m not from NY and not used to businesses sharing buildings/floors. But I got there with relatively little hassle. They gave me my own little room to work in with a sewing machine and cutting table, just had to go to another room to use the iron. They had everything I needed available including scissors, pins, thread, chalk, etc. for no additional cost. I can’t vouch for the classes, but the space was really cute and my experience was great- highly recommend if you need a place to get a bit of sewing done!
Kathryn Lloyd: I took the one-day bootcamp and it was a fantastic experience! I hadn't used a sewing machine for over 20 years and was basically a beginner. The instructor gave super clear guidance on getting started with the basics, and then also offered really helpful 1-1 support once we got going on our projects. Since I didn't finish my project that day, I was really grateful for the additional free 2-hour drop in class included in the bootcamp experience--I came back 2 weeks later to finish and again got great 1-1 support. Highly recommend!
T D: Enjoying taking private sewing lessons here! Highly recommend!
Loni Efron: I love going to my sewing class. The teachers are fantastic. The machines work great. The center is so clean and they have great coffee! I am having the best time. I started making a pants today. I am a novice!
Martina Pavlicova: and explained everything clearly and in a fun way. The 90 minutes flew by, and I left feeling confident and excited to start a sewing project. Overall, it was a much better experience than I had anticipated, and I would definitely recommend this center. Thank you!
Florencia Guevara: I had private lessons on February and it was an amazing experience!Lindy, Amy and Eun Young were amazing teachers and taught me so much about tailoring. Also the studio was super organized and beautiful and had everything I needed.
B.R. Harris, MD: My quilting friends enjoy monthly gatherings and have never once been disappointed over the past few months and the prior year to the shut down during COVID. The staff is knowledgeable, warm and friendly. I recommend this creative space highly and without reservation.
Juliet Nyangoma D.: Class size was small and intimate. We learned a lot and came out of it with our tote bag. Had a great time sipping on wine and having a good laugh while we worked too.
Ilana Palgi: Wonderful teaching and energy!
Shirley Galvin: Very professional can record lesson suits all levels super if you just need to check your doing the right method friendly
Heather Propes: It's a great place to learn to sew. They have many interesting classes. I attended a "sewing 102" 3 hour workshop and it was very helpful and fun to be part of a sewing community. Also it's a great location with many fabric stores and restaurants nearby.

Kiran Agarwal: 5 stars!! I’ve been going to Sewho for over 3 years and love it so much! Conchi is an amazing teacher who can truly help you with anything, from learning to sew for the first time, to helping you turn drawings or photos into clothing. Everyone who comes is so friendly too! Would highly recommend.
GG: Really grateful to have found Conchi at Sewho. She is an amazing mentor with so much knowledge and also a great friend. I have learned so much here working with her. I look forward to making more creative pieces at Sewho!
Marisa Gill: Conchi Vitale runs an incredible experience at Sew Ho. The girls created so many pieces in a short period and learned real skills! They were first-timers and they are HOOKED! Fantastic teacher and a truly fantastic class. They learned so much! Thank you, Conchi!
Samantha Leonard: I can’t say enough great things about SewHo. I came in as a college student to get help with sewing, patterning, and projects. Conchi exceeded my expectations beyond. She cares for her students, dedicates her time and genuinely enjoys her time spent teaching. Since Covid, I left New York and I miss this special place the most! Conchi will encourage you, push you, and make sure you succeed. She is sooo talented and amazing. I can not wait to come back to New York and finish the silk dress we started!! ❤️

dorith werthaim: Laid is an incredible way to learn and understand fashion design and sewing. I love the way Karen goes above and beyond for her students.
Ariana Lozner: An amazing friendly environment your kids will enjoy.
Jaqueline Hazel B.: Karen treats her staff, parents and the children who comes into the class very well. She is fair-minded, fun and very respectful. It's great to see a tremendous growth within the school environment within these past several months. If you want to learn sewing techniques, I highly recommend Karen's School of Fashion for any ages!
Suzanne Q: of which she is very proud! We have found this class to be much better than several other fashion/sewing classes we have taken in the area. This is in large part due to the personal care Karen puts into her business and shows towards her students and customers.

Christine: and everyone disinfects their workstations after use. We spent the first class introducing ourselves, learning the ins & outs of the sewing machine, practicing stitching lines and turning corners on paper. Then the next 3 classes are where things ramp up to making a pin cushion & an adorable little handbag. So you’ll actually walk out of the class with two things you’ve made and not just a notebook of instructions lol. Also everyone that works here is SO nice. There’s a class helper
Eleanor Cummins: . Soul Collection is such a welcoming, supportive, and creative space, and I can't wait to return for another class — and will be recommending it to other adults & kids in my life.
Lisa Laplace: Professional staff
Ranjani Chakraborty: Shannon was awesome and tailored a heavily embroidered Indian top for me within a couple weeks. Fit perfectly and it was easy to coordinate drop off/pick up with her!
Michael Francoeur: Cute sewing workshop on Bedford. I took the beginner’s class - having never sewed before and had a great time. Good instruction and fun projects. Came away feeling good about my sewing skills. Recommend to anyone interested in picking up a needle or learning how to use a sewing machine.
Daniel Francoeur: First time ever touching a sewing machine...and Shannon's adult beginners class was an amazing for for me! She gave us hands on help and guidance and I learned so much. Most importantly I left the class feeling confident and inspired to sew, create, and mend more in the future. Thanks for helping me learn this new skill and put me on the path to being more sustainable. I have a pile of clothes that need mending and I'm equipped to drive-in!!Recommend for everyone!
Jane Doe: Such a great establishment, the teachers were amazing and very patient. Would highly recommend
Paul Neenos: Shannon is awesome and fixed my favorite jeans in no time. I’ll definitely be back for all of my future alterations.
Mona Kamal: Twice I have been refused service at this establishment, both times are when I needed alterations done. The first time She was only open by appointment only and appointments were made by text. I texted her told her what I needed she it took her half a week to respond. When she responded she seemed more concerned as to when I would need the work done by. Unfortunately I couldn’t tell her how long it would take as I am not a seamstress that as I am not a seamstress and I don’t know her line of work. I was still open to giving this woman my business but it took her another three days to respond to my request for a fitting appointment. By this time I had found another business who accommodated me with a friendly smile and open arms. Even though I didn’t like what happened I decided to give her a second chance. This time I walked into her store the door was open and all the lights were on. I told the owner and her friend that I needed a coat altered. She didn’t smile but rather rolled her eyes and asked when I need the work done by. I told her that it depends on the work that needs to be done and said that the coat is too large and needs to be taken in. She again rolled her eyes and said that they weren’t open. Even though I was inside her store she refused to help me. She didn’t suggest when I should come back. Stage look on her face made it seem like I was a huge inconvenience and I had disturbed her time with her friend. As I left her friend said rude things to me and this time she made sure to lock the door. I have never been made to feel so small and an inconvenience when I was giving someone my business before. As a business owner myself I will NEVER give this woman my business. She is rude and comes across as lazy. Her sewing classes may be great but there are plenty of places where people can learn to sew. As a woman of color myself I really wanted to support her, but she is not someone who comes across as friendly and a community minded person. Never again!
Ivy Malao: I love taking lessons here! It is such a great community and Ms. Shannon is a wonderful teacher, extremely patient, nice, and fun!! 😊
Daisy Tlatelpa: I took 2 weeks of sewing and it was fun. I got to learn so many things like how to make a short. Ms. Shannon is the best and had 10 kids and she was really patient and had time for everyone.Thank you Ms. Shannon for your hard work. From Lea
Casey Sartori: I cannot recommend this place enough. Ms. Shannon is truly a gift and an absolute master of her craft. Sierra and Lauren are a delight. I really cannot believe how much I’ve learned in such a short amount of time. Soul Collections? More like Soul CONNECTIONS. Very glad to have stumbled upon this business.
C L: Wonderful place and classes. Both my kids love it and ask every week if we can sign up. It’s serious enough that they are actually learning real sewing skills but they are also really engaged and having fun! It’s super easy to sign up on the go or monthly via their website and mobile site. We love that they take COVID precautions very seriously also.
Rebecca Fowler: was amazing! She was so patient and willing to walk me through it step by step. I came out of the class with a great understanding of how to use the machine and make simple patterns. Would recommend to anyone!!
yae amin: I got a silk shirt hemmed up and a wool sweatshirt's sleeves extended. She did a great job with both and I highly recommend Soul Collections. She is so kind, her space is a place for the community and creativity. Highly recommend and will be going back for all my tailoring needs!
shameka brown: Shannon is a wonderful Instructor. I’ve learned a new lifetime skill under her instructions. I took my first Adult Beginners Sewing Class in August and the Adult Intermediate Sewing Classes. Every month I say to myself this is my last class but I can’t help but to sign up for another series of classes. I’ve learn a lifetime skill that love and enjoy. Shannon is so supportive and encourages me to always try something new. She so attentive and patient with everyone. The sewing lounge atmosphere is loving, warm and a safe space. Which also keeps me coming back. Shannon has found a lifetime student in me.
Sandrena WilliamsBriggs: she worked a miracle for me. I would recommend her ten times over and so friendly. I appreciate her help.
