Chelsea Garden Center: what do users think?

Denise Cape: There are plenty of awesome and professional nursery's in Brooklyn - this isn't one of them. We bought four Scout Maiden Grasses which began to curl and die the day after purchasing. We called the garden center 2 days after purchase and was advised by Alex to cut the curled top and keep watering the plants generously, which we did. When we followed up with Alex via email to request an exchange of plants that were clearly dying at the point of sale, we did not receive a response. When we followed up again, he accused us of not caring for the plants properly and said we exceeded time for a refund/exchange. You can't make this up. Don't waste your time. We ended up back charging the purchase, went to a different nursery, and now have a beautiful garden to enjoy.

Joseph Baird: During a visit this past Sunday, staff were very helpful suggesting alternatives to the plants I was actually looking for. After I spent nearly $200 they would not let me use the rest room. I’m an older man, with occasional urinary urgency. I had to find as private a place as I could on the street. An unnecessary and embarrassing experience.

Margot Ash: I’ve never so consistently been to a nursery with such healthy plants and knowledgeable staff. All the plants are sturdy and well cared for, I’ve been pleased with everything from veggie starters and herbs to established perennials. I won’t go anywhere else when I can help it!

Steven Bono: Live in the neighborhood, best staff!Overpriced, neem spray is $20-twice as much as other places in the neighborhood. Recent purchases had both Spider Mite infestations and Fungal Gnat infestations. Bummer for how much you pay for those plants- they should be treating their stock with organic pesticides prior to purchase so the consumer doesn’t bring home a bunch of unwanted pets.

Cesar Cabrera: They do an amazing job on gardening designs and services. I am so happy with my backyard, they exceeded all expectations. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning in the future for more plants.

Nadia Barcenas: probably travel from out of state, so of course they’re a bit more expensive! Like hello!!!! you pay for quality, people! Nothing but love for Chelsea, every time I’ve come I leave happy :

Terrie K: I've been a customer of CG for years. Not sure what happened recently, but the service for home services, and terrace management has been horrific. No follow up, extremely expensive, and half the services I had to pay for up front were not done. ZERO- follow up, call backs, anything. What a shame.

The Sill - Lower East Side: what do users think?

Anjali Kumar: Went into the store at 3.58 pm exactly, the store didn’t look like it was open, however the hours on the door said open from 12 pm-7pm, a man sitting outside goes they are open so I walk inside and the girl says we’re closed, to which I say it says you’re open till 7 pm, she goes yeah we’re closing early today, no apology or anything, so unprofessional and rude. I had gone into purchase the ceramic pop up message that I couldn’t order online. So disappointing!

Joe Squires: Aug 6th 2022- order 981300 confirmed, value approx $800Aug 12th I emailed to query delivery as nothing received / no dispatch details emailed - a problem with stock that noone had spotted before my queryAug 15-19 several emails to choose a different item given stock issueAug 19 I again query delivery and told will be dispatched the week aheadAug 24th chased on email - no replyAug 26th - chased again concluding "I don't know what to do now other than ask you to cancel the order and refund me in full". No replyI have now raised a chargeback via my bank.So - no plants, no communication, no refund.Fraud? Or just useless? So thank you not one little bit for helping me create a new home for my family after or emigration to NYC. You have wasted my time and my money.

Genesis Mullis: Visited the shop to buy some a few repotting supplies and was genuinely surprised at how nice their employee was to me. I got some great advice on how to support my climbing plants and was supplied with some twine for free after I learned they didn't sell any in the shop.

Rebecca Yu: Ordered a large Monstera; the plant we received had virtually every single leaf ripped, blackening or completely shredded. Customer service told us it probably happened in transit as though we're complete idiots; how does the inside of a box shred leaves? They wanted us to trim off about half the plant and try and regrow it ourselves. Got our refund eventually, which was the positive. I understand plants can recover if trimmed and treated well, but if you're going to charge 3x the average store you need to bring some sort of value to the table, and The Sill brings absolutely none.

Arianna Vetere: and it arrived upside down with no packaging in the box to protect it. I ended up keeping a plant, but it is extremely damaged and lost several leaves in transit. When I reached out, customer service was AMAZING and sent the correct tree.Unfortunately, when the tree arrived, I noticed it was covered in webs. I sent an email asking about them, and bathed each leaf in the meantime just in case it was just cobwebs from the greenhouse. It’s now a couple of weeks later and all of the webs are back- they’re spider mites. The tree is completely infested and I just hope that this hasnt spread to the rest of my

Justin Picca: This place is the absolute worst. Customer service here is borderline non-existent. I ordered a plant with a gift card, after 3 weeks a plant arrives...and it's a completely different plant. Not even close to what I ordered. Another 2 weeks for the customer service team to reply and tell me they're shipping the correct plant. Another week goes by and I hear nothing so I follow up on my own....4 days later I hear that the plant I ordered is now sold out and I can choose from 4 alternatives. I opt for a full refund instead. Order a new plant a month later and the shipping address that is on the tracking info isn't my address. I catch it and email customer service immediately, they write back and assure me that they updated the address before shipping....guess what plant was just delivered to a total stranger because nobody updates the shipping? Can't speak to the physical storefront, but avoid dealing with this scam site at all costs

Giorgio Amoruso: Store front, website and voicemail say it’s open on Sunday but it wasn’t, so I couldn’t pick up my plant.

Robert: 9/11/21 - I had a really nice visit to this small footprint and well stocked store. I needed help getting a few things and some specific advice about plant care and Maeve, the staff worker, was very friendly, helpful, and understanding.

tommy nguyen.: ; however, don't they have flower farms or teams in the west coast? the flower arrived and it was poorly wet and droopy ... i am very upset. i just email and sent the photos, and crossing fingers to hear them by this weekend/monday.

Melissa Reilly: The Sill has provided the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced from an online vendor. Buyer beware! After receiving two damaged plants, I have had to send countless emails before getting a response from customer service. They still have not responded or refunded plants which I never received, and I have sent no less than 7 emails on the subject. Be prepared to lose your money if anything goes wrong with your order. This is the only google review I have ever submitted and it is only due to my extreme frustration with The Sill.

Naomi Cervantes: Went an hour before closing and the person inside, who only looked up from their phone bc the door was locked and made a noise as I tried to enter, just shook their head and returned to their phone. Uhhhhh, okay 👍🏼 guess the Sill doesn’t need business, then?

Joel Goldstein: The store clerk was very nice and helpful!

Megan Lawrence: . Immediately sent in attached pictures and was asked for more pictures

K T: Terrible. Plants showed up half dead and when your reach out to have the issue resolved, they do not return emails. Go with Plantvine instead.

Michael Dominic: I wouldn't buy anything from them again. The box arrived crushed. Not The Sill's fault. BUT, the small Christmas tree had several broken branches. So I contacted them. They said that the tree was healthy so they wouldn't do anything. I explained that it was broken and didn't look like a Christmas tree any more so we wanted them to replace it. They refused and kept saying that the tree was healthy and the branches would grow back. IT'S FOR THIS CHRISTMAS!Finally after going back and fourth via chat they offered a refund, but would not replace the tree.Their customer service is awful. I felt like I was chatting with a non-native english speaker and their expectations of good customer service and Christmas as a whole were very low.

La-Tasha McNeil: Honestly, just go to your local nursery. Don’t waste your time or money. Got two plants from local nursery back in May and they’re currently thriving. Bought a monstera from the Sill in September, we are now in December and there is nothing left of this plant. This is my second experience with the Sill and couldn’t believe it could get any worse.

Joan Lazar: Ordered a pepromia, received a snake plant. Total bait and switch. Robbery.

Brooklyn Plantology by Lapide: what do users think?

Daniel B. Lee: This place is a hidden gem, and mecca to plant lovers. It's a huge space with amazing selection and prices! 🌱🌿🏵️🌼

moria h: Really great selection and prices

V Lennox: The best plant shop in Brooklyn! Large selection of annuals, perennials, herbs and houseplants. As someone who collects uncommon houseplants I found many at this location for bargain prices! They also have a great selection of soils and fertilizers. It’s planters and pots galore, they also carry glass containers. They cover all the bases and price all of their goods at reasonable prices which is unheard of at most other plant shops. The employees were all very kind and the black and orange cat that oversees the floor was the highlight of the experience shopping here. 10/10 Loved it. I left so excited about my new plants!

Tom Klaber: One of the better and more economical nurseries selling a nice verity of healthy looking plants.

Dana Walker: So this place is my 2nd favorite playground. So many different types of greenery.

Laurie Buffalano: Wonderful selection of beautiful flowers, plants, herbs and planters ... I totally love this place ... The staff is amazing, especially the knowledgeable cashiers.

wendy chan: I love this place, lots of plants to choose from, lots of different sizes, and reasonable prices. I try to go back every spring to get plants to bring some fresh greenery to our outdoor area.

Tory Taylor: Three weeks ago I went in asking for delivery. I’ve returned 3 weeks in a row and receive absolutely awful customer service. Last week I was yelled at across the store that they were not doing deliveries until after Easter. After speaking with the manager today he told me he doesn’t have time to “argue” with customer. They are a wholesale business and make tons of money otherwise. This same gentleman told me three weeks ago that he could do a delivery and then today told me they only do wholesale deliveries. This place is an absolute joke! Judging by many other reviews customer service is brought up many other times, or the lack thereof. Sure the plants are beautiful, but they treat you like trash. All their kindness must go to the plants.

Evelyn Hernandez: OMGGG love coming to this place, they have every plant you can think of. The decoration are beautiful, anything you need for inside or outside decor. The workers are polite and helpful. You must go to see on how they decorate for summer and Christmas, it's amazing. Trust me it's worth going to the place.

Gio Santiago: Incredible big spot - fair prices on so much

Elizabeth Cortez: Beautiful place! Prices are great! The lady at the register helped me to identify my plants by using google pictures! Thank you sooooo much.

Mitch Mangum: Amazing/huge plant selection! This place is my go-to.

Genevieve M: I was only in the store for less than 10 mins, before the one of the male workers started following me around the very empty store. Definitely very anti black here.

Lexa: What a wondrous place! I didn't even know I had this beauty in my backyard. They'd be getting tired of me soon. Amazing selection of very healthy plants and flowers, flower pots and plant food etc. Just go! Impossible to regret! Ten stars!

Natty Garden: what do users think?

Chris Blackett: has been absolutely infested with fungus gnats. And they’ve now spread to our other plants. Like an OUTRAGEOUS amount of fungus gnats

kathlyn roach: The pet shop is very clean ! Customer service is superb. The cats in the are very friendly and has the natural grown animal wet, dry, and frozen foods

Gerald: The best garden nursery in Brooklyn. Centrally located, wide selection of vegetable plants, flowers, and seeds. Great presentation, well organized, making it easy to shop. They have all the garden accessories you could possibly need. Staff is professional and knowledgeable and most importantly, their prices are very affordable. Will go no where else!!

Abigail Hitchcock: Great selection. Local garden center.

Zihui Huang: Plants are good, price is good, but the plants are small.

Alisa Roberts: It's very beautiful I had to run out of there I wanted to pick up every plant and very affordable too

Joe Sortland: Overpriced with nonexistent staff.

Rémi Rampin: , same-day delivery took 3 days and 8 calls to sort out

upAcreekCAM: One would think that going to a place called Natty Garden on a sunny spring morning is going to be an uplifting experience...or at least a pleasant one. Nope!My gripe is ONLY with customer service! The selection of plants and all things garden related is great, and prices are very reasonable.Yesterday morning I went to this store purchased two items and left only to notice that I had purchased 'charcoal' when I needed 'activated charcoal'...so I went back to return it.I approached the register with the item I had just purchased 10 min earlier. There were two employees there: the woman was on speaker phone being chewed out by her boss who had rung me up earlier. "Jay" was on the other register. I asked to return an item for refund. The woman asked Jay to take care of me."Hold on a second, man" he says.So I wait, hearing the uncomfortable phone conversation, waiting for Jay to finsish sorting through label stickers. Another phone line starts ringing."One second man" Jay says again to me as he goes to answer the phone. He finished the call, came back to the register, and starts sorting labels again.I say " C'mon dude can I get this item refunded to my debit card please?" He answers in an agitated loud voice "She's gonna do it for you, and don't call me dude. Do I look like a dude to you man?"She was outside now but still on the phone.I apologized and asked him not to call me "man" since he took offense to my calling him dude. He threw down what was in his hands and said he wasn't gonna help me as he stormed out of the store leaving me in the store alone.I went out and asked the woman to please refund my card. Jay comes around the corner with another employee YELLING at me to "go back inside and this guy will help you!"3rd employee is very competent and friendly and finally after ten minutes of this nonsense I am able to get refunded and leave.Going to the Natty garden center yesterday left me wishing I never did! I've been a customer for several years and have had other similar experiences there but this is the final straw for me!!I meant no disrespect by calling Jay 'dude' just like I'm sure he means no disrespect when he calls people "man". But if he is so sensitive about this, he should NOT refer to customers by anything but their first name and/or he should not work with cusromers at all in my opinion.*update* I went and read other one star reviews and the owners replies...all I can say to the owner is you are in the wrong line of work.

Ian Johnson: Lots of stuff but super r-e-l-a-x-e-d. On a Saturday 45 minutes to pay. Maybe my own fault. Also no advice for plants. “Go look yourself.”

J Y: Nice people and a lovely plant selection, but their online order system seems a bit disorganized—I placed an order for pickup a few weeks ago, never heard anything after it was confirmed, then got a call a few days ago asking if I was available to receive the delivery. I said i would pick it up, and when I went to do that today, they did not have my purchases ready to pick up, and half the items were out of stock. Until they work out their system, probably best to just keep this an in-person shopping experience.

Rachel Wilder: This place is so expensive for the quality, prices are very random, seemingly decided at check out sometimes. Now I’m on google reading reviews - the owners responses to reviews make me regret giving this place business!

tawanna merrill: I went to Afronpunk this weekend and saw Natty Garden selling plants. The customer service and the vibes was great. I would like to shoutout Chris who was very knowledgeable and Well educated about all of the plants displayed on the table and throughout the event. I look forward to visiting the shop again. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit the shop. Thank you
