Toga Bike Shop: what do users think?

geo aguilar: My bike shop for over 8 years!

Migo God: Superior Customer Service has been an institution in this community for decades don’t sleep on Toga

Juan Torres: I love this place. I purchased my bike here 2 years ago. Everytime I come back, the Toga team is always on point. Great shop, with great bikes, great service.

Sari Crawford: Known chop shop. Shame on them.

Alejandra Cinirella: Es un lugar excelenteeeee!!! Atención de primera…

PPF: I went in to have my breaks replaced and had a very bad experience with the guy with braids and sunglasses who spoke in a very rude and condescending manner. I asked nicely if he would not mind putting some air in my tire using the indoor pump, because the outdoor pump lets some air escape and it is difficult to do so. He started to show me how to put air in the tires as if I didn’t know how to do it, ignoring everything I was saying and then asked a younger sales associate to “teach me how to put air in the outdoor pump, because I didn’t know how to do it,” when in reality he didn’t want to deal with it. After failed attempts outside, we went back into the the store to put air in my tires using the indoor pump and he purposefully kept me waiting, until another associate finally stepped up to help and get it done. It is a shame because I have been a customer of the shop for years and the majority of the staff is extremely polite and helpful, but now I will be reluctant to go back in light of this incident, might as well just go to the bike shop on 72nd st instead, where I never had an issue.

Daniel Basilio-Fernandez: I live relatively far from this shop, but it's NO QUESTION worth the commute. They rock !!!! I bought my bike from them six months ago and came in several times for repairs and tune-ups. ALL the folks there are super knowledgeable, congenial, and simply worth their weight in gold. They'll get you right with whatever you need, whether you're looking for a new bike, need maintenance, or you're in the market for some new accessories and gear.

Dan V: Great wheel truing and service overall

Tom Watts: Toga provides amazing service. Manager Will does an outstanding job providing advice, getting me whatever I need, and servicing my bike when I break components or just want to upgrade. The computerized bike fitting he did for me made a huge difference in my ride.

Ken Paulsen: This is my new trusted bike shop in NYC, even though this shop is farther than a bike shop one block away from my apt.Hobie and Simon were great, knowledgeable, and friendly. Had to replace my wheels after I bent my front rim and it could not be trued straight... or so I was told by another bike shop that then tried to upsell me, then dismissed me once I wasn't interested. But, that's not how I was treated at Toga Bike Shop. Simon immediately asked me if I needed help. He and Hobie looked at my bent front rim and told me I did not need a new wheel or wheelset; they could true it. Best mechanics in there! Sure enough, it was true and straight, both wheels - and I gave them a pretty warped wheel.Personally, I'm always cautious when dealing with mechanics as it's easy for them to overcharge and leave you feeling swindled. But, Toga Bike Shop gained my trust and got the job done well.Because of Hobie's honesty and integrity, and the expertise of the mechanic I didn't see in the back room, I am back on the road again, without breaking the bank!I'm coming back to Toga Bike Shop for all of my biking questions and needs from now on. Thanks very much!!!

Susan W: RUDE, CONDESCENDING AND DISMISSIVE and proceeded to swipe my card for the fees. To echo the above reviews, THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT CUSTOMERS. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere — unless, of course, you enjoy being mistreated and abused.

Rolando Mansilla: Excellent

Aidan Falvey: I bought a bike here for the 'offered free service', returned when my bike needed a little tune up - free service doesn't actually cover anything useful. Just a line to be said.

Tal Hofman: Great service and fair prices, Marcus was super friendly and helpful.

Joel gunderson: Awesome staff and they know their stuff. If you have a cervelo bike or any bike for that matter just trust what they tell you and buy it. This bike shop has a former racer there and that makes a huge difference if you want great advice if just starting out whether you are a master in their 40s/50s/60s They do a great bike fitting as well. They also can do tubular tires replacement really well and sell clinchers also. They stock some high end bikes. I don’t understand most of the negative reviews on here as these guys are all about the customer and friendly. If you look Most of the bad reviews seem to be people who bad review other places also so just are unhappy people. Not naming any names here but They must be the guys that don’t ride in the early morning but ride at 7 pm on a weeknight thinking it is a race in Central Park and almost hit people then yell at them to make themselves feel better because their life is miserable. These are also probably the guys who run into your back tire in a cat 5 race if they even race. Toga rocks and sells great bikes and kits also like assos and Castelli and that is awesome. Love this place. Go in happy and trust what they say and you will leave happy with Great bike gear or maintenance. Awesome place 5 stars all around

M P: I seldom rate things but this is just the worst place and it is necessary to warn others. Avoid this shop! No warranty policy, no return policy, not customer centric and not particularly knowledgeable. If you have a problem after purchase you are in trouble.

Slinks: Very friendly and helpful staff. The place to go for all your biking needs! Kobe's very knowledgeable and helpful.

Anthony Ortega: There service was very professional. I left the shop satisfied. They work on bikes and portable electric scooters.

Silk Road Cycles: what do users think?

Eugene Sava: “We’ll get it on the stand tonight if not tomorrow”Waited a week for a response that they had to order a part. When part came it was put on and wasn’t told until I was told to pay that the other parts wouldn’t fit. Would not have done repairs in the first place. Then was rudely told that “they work on expensive bikes”When I was just trying to be sustainable and save a frame from the trash. On top of all that the first time I had a simple flat fixed I had to bring it back in to be adjusted.

Apolla Echino: . Amazing service and care.

Andres Michel: Great place! Super helpful and the have an air pump for the community!

Don King: Best service you will find. Also good pricing.I recommend the place.

Carter Vega: Ghetto they don’t let ppl take food out and told me bring my own container . Would not advise

Isabella Maldonado: Amazing experience

Jen Fraenkel: Wonderful bike shop with helpful pros. I didn’t buy my bike here but I wish I had. I went in to fill the air in my tires and see about a kickstand. I left 20 minutes later, very happy, with a working bike and kickstand. Highly recommend

Mike V.: , which made an already seamless experience even easier.

Barney Charles: Nice, friendly staff and reasonable repair prices

cL -esuna-: . You can tell through their actions that they are honest, morally strong people who aren’t trying to rip you off. I wish more services were ran by people like these guys, world would be a better place. Thanks again!

Kyle O'Flaherty: These folk are awesomeI have gone to EVERY bike shop in Williamsburg and green point over 6 yearsWith 4 bicycles it comes with the territorySilk Road staff are quick friendly No BS peopleThey know what they are doing and there’s no price Faustina or leaving your bike for 2 weeks. They text when things are done and recently honored a tube issue I had on the spotI highly recommend them

Marcel Beffort: Let me start with my first experience with Silk Road Cycles that started about 2 years ago. I live fairly far from the store but saw online they looked cool and I went and purchased a bike rack. Great staff overall great experience.Fast forward to this past week I need to tune up on my bike and naturally picked Silk Road even though it's further away from home. Still I choose them because I believed in the shop. I asked them to fix my derailleur, adjust my brakes and take a look at a tiny squeak on the pedal.Several days later I get my bike back everything looks good they tell me everything they did, I pay and TIP them. They say "there's a week-long warranty on anything we do so PLEASE come back if there's any issues."I'm riding home It's starting to rain I'm about a mile from their store and my pedal goes flying off into my wheel So lucky I did not crash. I call them up and the only response I get Is that it's "my problem because they didn't touch the pedals." No real offer to help just deferral blame and my own fault. No joke that's the kind of customer care? It's embarrassing and had I crashed it would be downright criminal. I will never go back to the shop I am extremely disappointed They were incredibly rude and unhelpful and I would not recommend anyone go here for any reason.

Trek Bicycle Chelsea: what do users think?

Connor Joyce: Team is great - super helpful. Will be coming back!

Tony Choi: Malik was great. He did a great job explaining the difference of models to me and helped me pick out a bike. I

Damian Cedeno: Great customer service and polite. First off let me start off with how honest this shop is. I was recently given a used racer bike and I went to the store ready to start fixing it and replacing parts that were no longer good. I went in thinking that I needed to replace a lot of things since I am not really aware of how the parts should look and what is considered good or bad. Surprisingly the sales person told me that everything was okay and in good condition instead of trying to make a buck off of me and sell me things that so did not need. I still went with new pedals which they installed. Good prices for having your bike serviced. This is my first racer bike and the switching gears had me stumped but sales person did a great job of explaining and left with a better understanding of how to switch gears correctly.Definitely will be going back if I have issues with my bike.Post My Review on Google

Mark Levy: Friendly, professional, knowledgeable and prompt service. 2 days early 😊

Mike Ad: Super knowledgeable. Reasonable prices and good service.

Rubber N' Road: what do users think?

M Srini: Over priced. Not for ordinary people. Get their gear if you are 🤑

Brian Ma: This shop will shake you down for money, forcing you to wear their products in order to attend free social events. They do not communicate this information, but rather expect you to know it beforehand. what a joke of a company.

Sophie Collin: Having recently moved to the City, Max and Gil have made me feel super welcome through their social rides and their quality women's products has drastically improved my cycling wardrobe!

Tsuyoshi Miyashita: This RUBBER N’ ROAD’s “N.York” tee is the best!!! Material quality, coloring n’ everything is awesome 😎 Thank you very much!! I’m so happy😊✨✨✨

Sam Welch: The finest cycling and athletic wear in my closet. Gil and Max have found a way to combine fashion and performance into the highest quality apparel. Not to mention the best coffee in NYC…

Daniel Marburger: They're real quality. Service, product and people 5*!

Nick Wheatley-Schaller: to source the highest quality material and use cutting-edge techniques to make stylish kit that's both comfortable and functional. Their distinctive design brings New York City fashion that stands out from the crowd of stodgy old brands. Every detail is well considered and results in a premium product whether it's their jerseys, bibs, or accessories.

Manusje de Bakker: Great Store , High Quality Products and no joke The Coffee is really GOOD , super tasty !!!

Brett Friedman: Knowledgeable, friendly, unique merchandise. Everything I want in a specialized cycling store.

eliran ashkenazy: I visited New York on holiday stopped by RUBBER N' ROAD, the staff was friendly and knowledgable and helped me find a beautiful NYC cycling jersey.

bernardo chelasco: I bought a coffee grinder and it arrived on time and in perfect conditions. Highly recommendable!

Antonio Lugo: Great store with the best brands for cycling clothing/equipment . Max is a passionate cyclist and was very helpful when shopping. Will be back next time I'm in NYC.

Areil Mancillas: I love the helmet, it was what I expect and came really fast in the mail. I would purchase from this store again 👌🏻

Rafael Perez: First time customer here and excellent communication with the staff

Tucker Stampen: I cannot recommend Rubber N' Road enough! Max and Gil's expertise on is second to none. On top of this, they are running a community space founded on principals and action. There is no other place in the cycling industry grounded in equity, sustainability, and community like this! Their care is shown in their actions and the items they stock on the website and in the HQ. I just finished placing my order on my custom Repete Build and I cannot wait to get on the road with it. Easiest bike purchasing process ever!

R&A Cycles Brooklyn: what do users think?

m. almas: Bought my bike from here a few years back. I pop on in occasionally to grab lubes and stuff. They recognize that and usually give a little discount or a free install if I grab something new. Little stuff like that keeps me going over there. The real reason I keep going there, is because they stock high end stuff at good prices. They have Silca lubes on shelves, Kask helmets on display. Pinarellos and Lightweights everywhere.

cheikh baba sylla: Got my first bicycle here, there`s a lot of choices and great people

Ryan Bonnici: . but long story short, I certainly don’t plan on spending my $6-8k micy’s R&A anytime soon.

Yaakov Bressler: Mechanics know their stuff.

Francisco Tocornal: Excellent service and highly recommended

Steve B.: Updated review: stopped by recently and what a change in experience. As soon as I walked in the lady asked me if I was being assisted and immediately sent over a staff member to assist in purchase new cycling shoes. The young gentlemen was extremely helpful, friendly and was patient. Due to this great experience, I figured I would buy a helmet too and proceeded to try on several helmets. Spent close to $1,000 total but this time I really felt like they were trying to change from their old practices. Due to this recent experience, I will be returning. Big credit to the new young gentlemen working there, what a great positive attitude he has. Keep up the good work, cycling is a big community and we all talk to each other.

Brand: I have been here half a dozen times and spent more than $1,000 over the last year. But I’ll never go in again after the older lady behind the counter was extremely rude and belittling. Rather than try to help, she just proceeded to tell me how little I knew. This is place gives Park Slope a bad name.UPDATE: went to a competitor in the city, the friendly person at the counter googled what size post I needed…I spent the $315 there. I wish I NEVER gave R&A a dime in the past and will continue to dissuade anyone from going there.

Adriano Passini: The best cycling store in NY. Really nice.

bnkiragu: I recently bought a Bianchi Oltre Pro from R&A Cycles in Brooklyn, I worked with Sheila over several months, she was very professional, patient and knowledgeable, she walked me through the whole process step by step, in the end i received my new bike all dialed in, set up and ready to ride, thank you to the R &A Cycles team, you are a cut above everyone else!

Jase Moore: I couldn't have asked for a better experience at R & A bikes. I went to see Felix for a bike fitting of my 58cm cervelo aspero that I had purchased online and not at their bike shop. After 2 minutes of measurements Felix informed me that I should have purchased the 61cm frame even though my overall height fell in the range for the smaller frame. Apparently as Felix said, I should be 6'3" with my limb lengths, but I have a small head. I was shocked. Not about having a small head, but that I spent thousands of dollars for nothing. R&A had the larger frame I needed in stock but it would have cost me over $5000 to switch everything over to it. Instead of pushing that option, Felix asked if he could work with me on fitting the original bike with the chance that it would still not fit and I'd be out a fitting charge. What happened in the end was fantastic. He dialed my bike in with the best fit I've ever had over a two hour period. Not only was the fitting process successful, it was fun as well. Felix and Luiz the mechanic are funny as hell. They had me laughing the whole time. Thanks so much guys!!! Great job

Hyun Bae: and was looking for specific bike brands that I wanted. Dennis is amazing at customer service and he answered all my questions with the utmost professionalism. He hovered around me while I was browsing just to make sure I was being taken care of and to answer any questions that might come up.Since I was in the market for an aero race bike

david yabra: The best store excellent service 👌

Luis Eduardo Cunha: Great experiente...great service...great attendants!! NYC's most complete bike shop. Mandatory stop!!! A+++

Billy Thompson: Recently switched Open UP gravel from mechanical 11 speed to electronic 12 speed. Your mechanic Luiz/Louis was super helpful and kept me on track with great tips and even used instant video and I couldn’t be more proud of the finished bike.

Aneto Okonkwo: I stopped in here because my sons stroller wheel was squeaking and they cleaned it. Great service!

Carlos de Cosio: Felix and Luis are the best. What a great team. You made my day! Thank you!!!

Vlad Ionescu: Lovely helpful people!

francisco esteva: My bike was ready for pick up in no time and the staff was kind and friendly

Francis Walsh: The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable!

Jacob Rheinstein: I bought my first tri-bike from eBay a few months ago and had it fitted by Matt with support from the rest of the team. Matt was extremely thorough throughout the process, which took a few tries to get right and he even leveraged personal connections to get a part that was out of stock. They run an honest, professional shop here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new bike, service, or apparel and accessories.

John Heidenry: Terrific fast and friendly service and they even delivered my bike to Hoboken.

Julien: Looking for a fixie, Josh was full of great advice and insights, very cool dude!

brian leo: Knowledgeable staff and great mechanics !

Steve S.: These folks are great! Bought my bike here and also had it serviced. Friendly, affordable and all around good people. 👏👏

A seban: Great location and very friendly knowledgeable staff! Always ready to help and make recommendations whether on equipment or repairs. Whether you go there to add air to your tires, a full tune up, a repair or buy a helmet they will not disappoint!

Tyler Mariano: Normally such a positive experience here but last visit left a bad taste in my mouth… Didn’t have parts in stock to do the job and the technician become super rude and kinda nasty speaking with suchhh vitriol as if I wasn’t in the room two feet away, about my bike? unprofessional. Obviously I’m taking my bike to you because I can’t ride it…

robert green: Mike and the team are nice and Knowledgeable

Master Bike: what do users think?

Leonard Unyime: Exceptional customer service and very accommodating owner. I enjoyed my test road bike test rides. I highly recommend this shop for bikers in the area.

Aaron Dutenhoefer: - and all 11 turned me down because they didn't have the time, expertise, or interest in helping me pack and ship the bike. Imbert and Mike looked at it like no big deal and got the process going. Because it's so large, we had to get it packed and provide proof of the dimensions to BikeFlights for UPS to accept the shipment. It took a few days to do all this, which meant coordinating it all via the phone from Wisconsin since I had to return. Mike and Imbert were both amazing, took care of the entire packing and measuring process, and made me feel comfortable leaving my ride in their care. They treated it like it was their own bike. Also, just listening them interacting with customers in the shop while I was dropping the bike off, these guys are incredible mechanics and very knowledgage about bikes. Make this your only stop if you need a bike or repairs or accessories or shipping in NYC. If they can't sort you out, odds are no one can.

Cassie Elkin: I just popped in to remove my quick release seat, so no one can walk away with my bike seat. And they did it in less than 10 min and for no cost! They are the community bike shop!

Steven Benario: Just had a super minor repair done, but they were really friendly, nice, and knew exactly what I needed. Will absolutely be coming back here for my bike needs!

Sebastian Theiler: Absolutely great bike shop. I was doing some custom work on my bike, and they were incredibly helpful in giving me advice and help with the gears and chain. I couldn't recommend a better place to go for bicycle work

Maureen Taylor: Best bike shop EVER!

Xavier Tirado: Great repair man they know their craftYou can also get lots of parts for all kind of bikes is always a good vibe !

Steve Maldonado: Last year, I bought my back. This year they are true to their word for a free tune up. I truly appreciate their service and there knowledge. Being able to ride again is amazing. Thank you

NYC Velo Hell's Kitchen: what do users think?

Chiu Kong: My bike chain fell off and I went here to get a replacement. They put a new one on for me and did a quick inspection of the gears. Everything was done within a few minutes. Great service. Nice staff.

Jeremiah Soriano: Today around probably 11:00 or so. I'm sorry I forgot the time. I asked the Cashier a question. He answered and he didn't make me feel like a loser. Early I went to target and maybe I am being sensitive but the Cashier really made me feel better about the experience. If I had a lot more money, I'm coming here.

David Chomowicz: No better service in the city or mechanic's expertise

Naveen Wall: I dropped off my gravel bike for a plethora of issues - front disk brake was rubbing, shifters were set up too low and uncomfortable to reach, and my lowest gear was skipping. David took care of all of those concerns, realigning my front brake, rewiring my shifters and adjusting them to a much more natural position, and fixing my skipping gear all within 24hrs! NYC Velo were also great at communicating, dropping me a call when my bike was ready to be picked, and clearly explaining all the work that had been done, and also gave me some good knowledge on how to offset brake issues. It's really hard to find excellent mechanics in NYC, I'll most definitely be returning.

Jeremy L: I noticed as I was riding that my tires needed air, and this place was not only open on a Sunday afternoon, but they were friendly and professional, and a very helpful young gentleman helped me out free of charge. I noticed that the shop is spotless and spacious, and they take pride in what they do.Recommendation: tip the guy that helps you get air, it’s the right thing to do.Awesome place! 🏼

Gordon Su: These guys are awesome! David helped my tune the shifting on my bike. He immediately knew what was wrong and got it fixed in a jiffy!

George Dimitroff: Came here because I had a flat tire while riding along the Hudson. Friendly service, extremely quick and reasonably priced. I was in and out in 5 minutes. Highly recommend.

Stéphane Lamy: et çà vaut le détour. Bien sûr les maillots, cuissard...sont hors de prix mais on trouve quand même des trucs. L'accueil est cordial, sympa.A faire donc

Give Reviews: Great customer service. They never charge me for air. When you do need to drop off your bike, they always call when it’s ready. They’re on point with everything.

Arnie Mok: Great and professional service!

Benjamin James: I recently visited NYC Velo bike shop, and the level of service provided by the staff was amazing from the moment I walked in the door to the end of my bike adjustment. A great start to my day, thanks!

Christophe van Durme: Super helpful team and great bike store!

Gabriel: Le gameplay est pas mal. Quelques bugs mais ça reste un bon jeu. Les pubs sont pas ouf

Taylor Casas: A solid, clean bike shop! The staff was professional and helpful in answering my questions when getting me set up with my bike. Will be returning for maintenance and repairs when needed!

Kent Whitaker: Sam is the best he is very thoughtful very knowledgeable and really wants to help. I highly recommend this business!

Daniel Hernandez: to fix a flat on the most basic, uncomplicated ebike. I was not even invited into the store towing my bike with a flat, stranded miles away from my apartment in Queens. I went to a local bike store and they had the empathy and expertise to fix a flat.

Adam Johnson: Rude staff. I tried to walk in with a busted tube miles away from my apartment and was immediately turned away at the door because they “don’t do e-bikes”. I hauled my bike back to queens and went to a local bike shop and they helped me without question or hesitation.

John Pyun: Do NOT trust your bike with them. I left my bike with them for repair. After the repair, the bike's gear popped off, causing me crash. Without my helmet, I might have died from my injury. Don't trust your bike with them.

Kelly Wu: Swung by a Wednesday morning around opening to have the shop take a look at a cabling issue with my brakes. Shoutout thanks to David who helped me so quickly identify the fix and let me know an estimated time/ cost which ended up being completed within 2 hours. I've mostly stopped by to peruse and shop their Ostroy selection of cycling goods and now glad that I was able to utilize their repair service as well. I've also received helpful information about bike availability in small sizes in the past. Much appreciated!

Daniel Robbins: NYC Velo is on my block. They are always ready to answer any questions or do on-the-spot repairs

I always enjoy chat with him when I visit his store. Thank you...

Edwina: It was horrible. There is a person , who was not a mechanic trying to sell me a rusty part. The nerve. Then he stared at me in a very uncomfortable manner.

David Batine_vega: Bad service. Who changes the rear gear on a bike and forget to straighten it. Then tried to argue bout other parts. Never going back again

Mary K.: Knowledgeable repair, good service, and honest and fair prices. Why would you go anywhere else?

Page Baker Sale: , who made me laugh, fixed my bike problem, and helped me! I highly recommend Frank's bike shop and enjoyed speaking with all the helpful staff! Page

Judith Schiff: Great place to buy a bike. You can actually ride around the block to test it. Prices the best.

Ari Friedman: They quoted me one price for a tire installation then added a $30 labor fee when I was ready to pay. I had asked if labor was included in the original price and was told it includes everything. Will not be going back.
