Stephanie Cheng: Sit at table #51 if you want to see the chefs at work. There are some standouts at Crown Shy and some things that could’ve been improved on.The must haves:The sticky toffee pudding with pecans was outstanding and the acidity of the green apple sorbet cut straight through the sweetness. Amazing palette cleanse. The Satsuma orange ice cream with a honeycomb brittle and toasted marshmallow was amazing! I think the orange can even be a tad more citrusy.Scallops - excellent dish and they even had 7 pieces for us.Cauliflower was great, tasted almost like Brussels sproutsGruyère fritters 7 pieces cheesy and deliciousChicken was tender, the sauce was amazing, sweet and nice soy sauce glazeThe corn for the side of the roasted short rib was out of this world but the beef was okay. Some of the side ingredients stood out more than the main ingredients. The pancake and corn was better than the beef. The sauce overpowered the octopus dish. The papaya tomatillo elevated the pork chop and might have paired better with another dish. The prawn sauce was overpowering as well. Barely tasted the prawns. The dishes on the bottom of my list are the romaine lettuce and the squid ink. To me, it would’ve been more interesting if the lettuce was made like a lasagna layer where each layer had some radish, breadcrumbs scallions but only the top lettuce got it. One friend did say “the lettuce was fire”. Which is ridiculous. For the squid ink, there was too much olives in the sauce which was more like a paste. And the squid looked like baby enoki mushrooms cut 3 ways. The tomato dish was also okay but probably wouldn’t get again either.Service was excellent. This is a place to bring a group of friends and it was affordable for a Michelin star place. If you’ve never been to a Michelin star place, this is a good start. It’s not stuffy, they got a Buddha Biggie and the music is old school. Loud and not a place for a first date. But fun overall.
Michel A: Nice
Kim Angèle Vallières: I had a fantastic experience at Crown Shy. I went for a meal by myself and sat at the bar. Bill was an incredible waiter/bartender. His suggestions for food were delightful. I had the Gruyère Fritters, Ricotta Gnocchi, and Baklava Cheesecake. All of those plates were incredibly tasty, and I won’t even start mentioning the pull-apart olive bread with a yogurt spread. I definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a lovely food experience in NYC.
Tiffany Au: Had high hopes given the Michelin star rating but found the experience mediocre. Out of the dishes we ordered, we enjoyed the squid ink bucatini, short rib and sticky toffee pudding the most. Overall, the food was good but did not have a wow factor. Service was slow and they forgot about one of the dishes we ordered despite repeating it back to us initially. Tried it once and will not be going back

Paul McEnaney-Rodriguez: A stunning restaurant but we had a bad experience with the steaks we ordered. I ordered mine medium, it was definitely well-done. I brought it up to the kind staff and they went to make a new one. The new one I received was as rare as it could be, but at that point I was waiting for a long time for dinner so just went with it. The other steak we ordered was supposed to be medium and it was leaning well-done as well unfortunately. We loved the space, the apps, but for the premium price of the steak, surprised/disappointed it wasn’t good.
Dan Furey: was absolutely devine. Will definitely visit this restaurant again.
Neely M: . Jamie greeted us at the door, and checked on us a few times, then made sure that we were enjoying ourselves
Bethany Freynk: -Pretty large portion sizes overall-Strong cocktails-Nice serverCons:-Butter board is pretty for posting but could be so much better, the sides it comes with are underwhelming and random.-Filet mignon carpaccio was not good, it was tough to even cut through-No one refilled our water during the meal unless we asked-Nutella dessert was a great size for sharing, but I found it insanely sweet and it did not taste like Nutella.
Christina Chedid: The Quality group is a quality experience. Everybody leaves happy. Escargot, frites, even a nice cozy outdoor seating, covid-friendly.
Ramona Ross: Taste amazing. It will cost, but it worth it.
