Manhattan45: what do users think?

Aj: Every time I'm in town, I make sure to stop by -- by far the best selection of new & recent techno/house in manhattan. The owner is super friendly and really knows his collection -- I always leave with a few of his recommendations mixed in with my own finds. The hardest part is leaving without buying everything!

Joe Perry: Great selections and well-organized. Owner is friendly and super knowledgeable. Definitely recommend if you’re a looking for House / Techno.

Jason Merced: Haven't shopped for records in over 20 years. For The past year or so I have buying online. Decided to go shopping in NY personally to get the experience I had in the past. I went to a few stores but didn't find anything new. I am not a digger of records as a I have a collection. I just wanted to add some new stuff to the collection. Feeling frustrated I googled " New House Music Records" and the a few stores were displaying but all the places I went already, until I found Manhattan 45. It was only a few blocks from where I parked. I scooted over to the store and as soon as I walked I saw ALL NEW RECORDS. I was like a kid in a candy store. Definitely will be shopping here every weekend. The staff were super polite and informative. If you are looking for new records then look no further. .

钟定璀: 5/5 gooooood

Daniel: Great shop, great selection of very cool and new digs of house, electro, and techno. If you're a DJ this place is a must stop. It's also right near A1. Go to A1 for the deep 90s digs and come to Manhattan45 to stay up to date on newer labels and releases. You'll find digs here that are only on discogs being available in Europe. Some of my personal fav labels here are Curtis Electronix, Cabinet Records, Bondage-Music, SK_eleven, Lobster Theremin, REKIDS, Central Processing Unit, KLOCKSWORKS, Toy Tonics.

James Kettle: Best techno record store in North America

Lukas sältzer: A very good and sorted pallet shop for house and techno. I bought some records there myself. Very nice staff and my wishes were received. I would heartily recommend this maggot to anyone looking for good electro records.

Christophe Brunel: -- ps : no Second Hand

Darren Woodward: Came across this little gem of a record shop whilst in New York in May, a fantastic range of vinyl including House, Technology and more, next time I'm in New York I wll be back for more, also a fantastic service too. The Vinyl I bought was actually played recently on my radio show here in Ireland...I was the English man...👍🎵

Bartosz Szymkiewicz: Awesome little store for electronic music enthusiasts with focus on house and techno. Very friendly and helpful staff. Was able to find a record that I was tracking for some time. Definitely recommended.

A: This place is a gem. They import records no one else would. An absolute must for electronic music DJs

Tipton Dunn: Stumbled into this little shop not having researched what their specialty was only to be pleasantly surprised that they offered some amazing underground house cuts! Picked up some new releases from some of my favorite labels, Shall Not Fade, Toy Tonics, and Razor n' Tape. The shop owner was really nice and great to talk to as well. Next time I am in NYC I will be sure to stop back in!

Ethan Rhea: Staff was very helpful and went out of his way to help. Easily the best electronic selection In the city

Evan Savage: Minimal, fresh destination for grooves. The techno bins were filled with intriguing imports, and the turntables for previewing were closer to HiFi than my home setup. There is something for every dance music fan in their quaint though mightily curated collection!

Frank Manfredi: Awesome spot for techno/house

QuebeqGoneBBQ: I love this record store. The only record store in the city that specializes in club/dance music. Highly recommend this to every DJ!

Limited to One Record Shop: what do users think?

Jasper Schriber: This is an amazing store with a highly specialized inventory. Despite the small size of the shop it’s full of amazing finds. If you’re looking for rare hardcore, punk, emo, and metal this is the spot.

Jonathan Previtera: Quintessential record shop for collectors and music aficionados looking for deep cuts and more. Also recommend following his IG handle for the latest and greatest for those not able to visit the shop.

alphonso cino: Great selection, great prices. The owner is hands on and actually cares about the vinyl. They even get exclusives. My #1 stop for records if I'm anywhere near NYC

Andrew Rutledge: One of the best record stores around. HIGHLY recommend!

Brandon Schlotfeld: and have never visited New York without going to the shop ever since. A truly amazing and unique shop.

M K: and conversations. You might even

Syrena: The store has a great collection with some hidden gems, and all in great condition. The owner is also really knowledgable and friendly, highly recommend a visit!

Marcos Carvalho: Awesome records, helpful person.

Hunkofplastic: Best record store highly recommend if your into punk/alternative and just rare cool records

Rivka Holler: Best record store in NYC, especially if you're looking for some punk/emo/hardcore gems. I never leave empty handed!

Chet Backwudz: Small shop with some limited/rare pressings of metal, hardcore, experimental, and rock albums. This is not a place to find a lot of used/cheap records. Prices range from decent to hefty. Come by if you're looking for something specific in these genres, but it's not a bargain store by any means and there's not enough volume to justify traveling from far and wide to simply browse. More like 3.5 stars but they're decent folks in there and there's nothing necessarily wrong with offering a more eclectic/expensive selection.

Michael Austerlitz: , this place is a gem for me. It took me a while but I made it. Kristian is super personable and all his stock is well curated, fairly priced, and extremely limited. He’ll play stuff for you before you buy which is something you only get at a nice small shop. Coming back for sure.

Rock and Soul DJ Equipment and Records: what do users think?

Rodrigo Fidel: The best Place from the djs !!!

Maria Eidenback: Super nice staff. I like that they have a record player In which you can play/listen to any of their used records before buying.

Jenna C.: My friend and I stopped in to Rock and Soul on a very busy day. Despite the mayhem of RSD at the time, the staff still made us feel incredibly welcome and supported. As a relatively new vinyl record collector, sometimes record stores can be a bit overwhelming with the plethora of products and little space, but the staff was beyond kind, helpful, and knowledgeable! So thankful for my Folklore Long Pond Studios RSD vinyl. Definitely worth a visit for vinyl record enthusiasts, new and experienced!

Fedan: This store has a huge variety of records: old and new, lesser known and old time classics, jazz/rock/pop/electronic… you name it and they probably have it. I didn’t even start with electronics which is also something worth mentioning. Overall it’s a musician’s paradise but even if u just wanna buy some records, there isn’t a place more perfect than this.

darya: This place is AMAZING! The selection is enormous and the people are super nice. Found everything I was looking for and more.

Gary Lapidus: Found this store on the internet when I missed out on some record store day releases. Their web site was up to date, accurate and staff very helpful. Product was well packaged and delivered timely. While transaction was by mail, I’ll definitely be stopping by in-person next time I’m in NYC & will continue to be a remote customer as well. Highly recommended.

rob simpkins: Just an awesome spot for vinyl. Some incredible rare jazz and hip hop cuts in here - found so many dope records that I came back to buy more before I left NYC - massively underrated spot and the staff were super nice friendly and helpful. If your into dope hip-hop and rarities then this is highly recommended - totally my cup of tea and couldn’t speak higher of this place - will be back here next time I visit NYC as a priority 10/10 for prices and curation

Felipe Mejía Zugarramurdi: beside to vinyl machine if he can help me. He said "do that at your home" and I explained him that it is a gift and I don't know how use that machine. Then I asked him if he can help me with the machine and he refuses to help me replying that I must do that by myself. Rude men. After a blonde girl

G-Money Estebands: Y’all are amazing! Thank you for being a crucial part of Record Store Day!

Lorenzo Antigua: Came back here after I found out one of my vinyls were warped. First lady I spoke with offered to help me and told me to get another one and try it out on their turntables but I was then immediately "frowned upon" by another employee who said "I can't open more vinyls for you to see if it's warped, you have pick something else" Didn't even try to offer me an exchange or anything. I ignored him and just kept doing what I was doing with the first lady. Left a sour taste in my mouth for this highly popular record store. Turntable lab might be my new go to spot now.

Javier Hernandez Mendez: Good variety of vinyl.Good customer servicegood prices

johnny mendoza: Rock & Soul best Electronic and music store to still be around for so many years and still holding their own much respect. I want to say to everyone at rock & Soul and customer service thank you for my easy going smooth transaction. Highly recommend Rock & Soul to everyone to make a stop by if you are in New York or shop on their website they have everything and anything you need, Thanks again to everyone at Rock & Soul you guys Rock, Shout-out to Erlyn.

Calvin Gray: A scrappy record shop with good deals and fascinating finds for the dedicated vinyl aficionado. The staff are friendly and helpful; they always did right by me, even in the cutthroat chaos of Record Store Day. It's always worth paying a visit when you're in the neighborhood.

Nicki Kuba: Very friendly, good prices, good stock, good selection.Something you wish for more in Germany.

rajesh ramsaroopsingh: I had a wonderful experience with rock and soul although its not my first experience i had bought from the back in 2008 i think but anyway they don’t play around they are precise with there promise. I preordered a djm v10 mixer they told me il get it in February and so done. Kristen is so professional and helpful big shout out to her. Rock and soul rocks 💯👍🏾

Yael Amrami: Best store for music equipment! Love the stuff too they're so nice 🙏🏼

Oluwaseun Oluwasegun: A big shout to the team. Please keep up the excellent work you guys are doing

Benjamin Adler (BenMech): Meh

Michel C.: absolutely impressive especially in film and classic music with more than interesting prices.

Daniela Rognoni: I stumbled upon this neighborhood gem this past weekend and was in awe with the large vinyl selection. The store is packed with rare finds across all genres. There is a listening area in the back to test out the records and the owner is very kind and friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

Eddy Lex: Hard to find rare records and laserdisc's

David Cole: Finally had a chance to visit this store, had a chat with Bruce, bought some 45's. Thousands of Lp's from every genre. Very organised. 👍

Generation Records: what do users think?

Xtreme Logic: Best record store in NYC!

Janis Glaeser: Incredibly many records and cassettes. But quite expensive.

Mario L.: I just turned 40yo and I've been coming to this shop since I was a teenager. Hadn't changed much!

Mark Shred: Always has some hidden gem you've been looking for. Every time I come here, I leave with something off my wants list !Well priced Records too !!!!

Kevin Wright: Enjoyed digging in the basement

DerekorDie: This place is amazing but PLEASE reload on black metal!!!!!! Emperor,Mayhem, Gorgoroth, Watain, Darkthrone, leviathan, portal! you guys are the only place where you can get extreme metal, but pickings are slim lately

Eamon Kelly: I was looking at vhs tapes and there was only music tapes no movies

Shaun Gill: A quick visit just before they were closing purchased Punks Not Dead on Tape got some free stickers & smiles from the friendly staff 😎 cool place 💕

Christopher Galbraith: Amazing metal and punk inventory to browse through. Check out the books too!

Nicolás Rapetti: I went to this record store designated as one of the best in NY. In my case, I was looking for hip hop records in particular. In this area in particular they do not have much variety, honestly. And I would say nothing used, no original edition. In exchange for the other items there is a lot more. It is located in a very busy neighborhood, there are people permanently. Perhaps that is why friendliness does not characterize the vendors I ran into the two times I went. Most of the records are located downstairs, where there is also a wide variety of musical tshirts, none too original. In summary: to be considered one of the best record stores in NY, it seems to me that it is not up to par.

Selvin Sosa: great variety

Academy Records & CDs: what do users think?

Young Lonchiek: The Best!! Been coming for well over 20 years, and their attention to detail has never wavered. Top-quality best price

Deborah C.: Store with many choices for lovers!

Keaton Bell: I like discovering cool new-to-me records from just digging through he bins. Pulled 5 that looked really interesting from a great selection of used records, but they don't have a listening station available for me to see if I vibe with them so I ended up putting 4 back. They said they used to have a listening station but didn't like how rough some people would handle the records. If sampling records in-store is part of your shopping process, this might be a setback for you too. Better for collectors who know what they're looking for before they go in. Had a 10% discount for cash purchases.

Peter T.: Incredible cd and record selection with something always in store and of acute interest for me and any other real music fan ‼️

Laura Marini: Great selection, fun to browse, they don't have many of these anymore. Cds, dvds, vinyl. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, no pressure.

zelu wang: great selection of classical&jazz musicfound some surprises in budget sections too

Kyle Barber: They have more obscure stuff that makes it stand put among the few remaining used cd stores

kevin mahon: Great selection of Records and tapes plus CDs.

Yafreily Jimenez: Nice and cool place

Ambelique Malebranche: They buy some import cds and records at a decent price for resale so if you don't have time to sell on ebay they are your best bet!

Scott Kutasienski: Great store for some people, but wasn't the store for me.Well organized, and plenty of stock.
