Genevieve Neville: I like this nail salon for a quick mani and pedi. esp a quick affordable gel mani but the quality is inconsistent with technicians. Once after my gel mani was completed, she filed every nail after which I thought odd and 2 days later my gel mani started cracking. when i came in to re do it they did it free of charge but it also became a hunt to find out who did it originally and I remembered the lady but she didn’t remember me and was so offended that I said it was her! she had to re do my nails and it was sooooo awkward especially with her telling ppl around her in spanish that I’m wrong and it was not her, I guess she didn’t realize I understand spanish which is why you should not talk about ppl in front of them in any language because it’s rude in every language. Also once I asked for extensions and was told that is not done there even tho it’s on the list of services and I saw the box of fake nails? I literally asked twice and was told firmly extensions are not done there so I suggest it be taken off the services list.These personal experiences soured me from coming here regularly, but it is a solid,affordable salon for simple gel manicures and pedicures

The lady working the front desk was super sweet, knowledgeable, and passionate. It was infectious and made everyone so happy! They gave us some refreshments and were 100% upfront about what they could and could not do, which I honestly appreciate because I’ve gone to places in the past asking for certain things and they say “Sure!” And it looks awful when it’s done. Imani N.: I excitedly went to this nail salon for the first time on the strength of the overwhelm of positive reviews. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I made an appointment for a gel manicure and gel pedicure ahead of time and though I was happy with the gel pedicure, I was unhappy with my gel manicure and overall lack of customer service. When I walked into the nail salon, no one greeted me and I didn't feel particularly welcome. I was surprised as the high reviews praised the team for their kindness and hospitality which was a part of the reason I was excited to visit this salon.The pedicurist did a good job with my gel pedicure, but she seemed to be frustrated and was a bit abrasive. The manicurist misshaped my nails and I had to repeatedly ask her to fix them, the manicure didn't last 48 hours as they cracked, and my nails were left thin and nimble which I've never experienced in the many years I've been getting gel manicures. I don’t have this kind of money lying around but I thought if it was that expensive is might be the best quality. Turns out they are extremely thin and I already broke one of them off after grabbing my blanket lightly and it’s only been a day. Now i have to go back in and pay more. I wanted to get a gel manicure but was hesitant.After reading the reviews on Lenox Spa and nails I decided to give them a call. I spoke with Daisy and told her what I wanted but also asked a lot of questions. She sensed my hesitation and told me there was a more natural gel option that uses a non-uv led lamp and soaks off easily. She was very helpful as I had called a few times with questions.The nail product was called Beulah, if I am not mistaken. I decided to book a gel mani and a regular pedicure appointment. I got Berta when I arrived. she is young, professional and knows how to do nails. She was very professional and did such a great job. One who did my daughters manicure was upset because she had to do her pedicure. She stated she was busy. When she was clearly just sitting on her phone. Elizabeth Weiner: Initially I was happy with my nail extensions when I left. I was told that my nails were dry after 30 minutes of sitting there. Unfortunately, I got on the bus 5 mins later and noticed a huge gash on one of my fingers. I live pretty far so I couldn't just go back so easily to have it fixed. I got my set done on a Saturday and by Tuesday extensions were cracking at the seams where powder is used to fill in the nail. By Wednesday I had 2 broken ones. Typically a nail extension set lasts me 2 weeks and then I just get a fill in. Also, be prepared to pay tips via cash or Venmo because you cannot tip on your debit or credit card.

Elizabeth Ralph: and I am also a non-confrontational person. I really wanted to enjoy my experience at Lenox Spa and Nails considering the great reviews it had. However that was not the case for me.I arrived a little before my appointment and they were ready for me which was awesome! My nail tech was Sofia and she began removing my previous dip powder. I had gotten ombre done at another salon and normally that involves more layers and takes a bit longer to remove. I'll skip the details on the removal process it was your standard acetone but it burned because they activated it with hot water to "speed up the removal process".I asked if they were able to do the design in my pictures and said TWICE "if you are unable to do it that's totally fine I have no issues with getting a solid color". They insisted she could do it. I swear she spent more time looking for what she needed than actually doing my nails. She had to redo her work 3 separate times because it "wasn't" sticking but I noticed she was not using the proper products for dip application.All of this aside, my biggest issue with this experience is the state of my cuticles. This was not only the longest manicure I have ever had...THREE hours. But it was also the most PAINFUL. Rather than using a standard nail tech drill to even out my nails, she used a file and buffer for everything. My cuticles are so raw and every single one of them was bleeding when I left. I woke up today in so much pain and I've been applying Neosporin because I don't want to get an infection.After all that pain this is how they turned out, uneven, patchy, to be honest just really bad. I didn't argue the price

Tayo A: Update: 3 years later and I have not gone to another salon! I had to switch from Blanca to Marcelina due to a work schedule change, but I couldn't be happier. Marcelina is amazing and so skilled and kind. I also have to say that Joon, the owner, is fantastic. I have observed him for years and how he treats his staff. I've seen him go above and beyond, putting their needs first and helping himself with pedicures when needed. Happy to support this business!!******Blanca is quiet, meticulous, and friendly, and did an impeccable job. In addition to the gel pedicure, I needed a plain manicure because nail polish and long nails are a hazard at my job, and she did that excellently as well. I will come back.

ANA MERGIL: I have gone here twice and the first time I got dip with tips and my nails lasted about a month. I was very happy with this and went back last week, and this time got gel with french tips. It was over $100 plus tip and it has been 7 days and three of them have fallen off already. I went back and got the first one that fell off fixed but I am very disappointed as they were expensive and should not be falling off this quickly and for no reason.

Michelle Mackin: I got an amazing dip manicure at Eva’s for my wedding! It looked sooo beautiful and did not have the thick look that some associate with powder gel. She did an amazing ombré French manicure that lasted for just about 2 weeks. I got so many compliments! I also got a great pedicure. I had said I was going to choose a white color, and then I ended up choosing a more sheer, pearly white color that was more subtle. As she did the pedi, she checked to make sure it was definitely the color I wanted, since it was different than what I originally said. I really appreciated that attention fo detail! I will definitely be back.

Jenny Gao: Eva was meticulous and attentive to detail. Although I don't usually get SNS powder due to its thickness and wideness, Eva made it look natural. The powder gel nails resulted in a slightly flat and wide nail curvature, but this might be a common side effect of powder gel nails? Overall, Eva did an excellent job, but I prefer the appearance of gel polish for a more natural-looking nail curvature.

Sally: OBSESSED!!! I am in love with Akiko nails!!! This was my first time to get gel extensions and they turned out better than I expected!!! My nail artist took my vision and made it a reality!! I was over the moon!! I can’t wait to go back and explore new designs!
Mi a: and getting in the way of my nails that had not been light cured yet. She filed aggressively and a few of my cuticles feel very sore. The results look satisfactory but the experience was very unpleasant and given the total cost of over $170, I will not be returning to Akiko and cannot recommend this salon. There are better options in the city that will provide service that is worthy of the priceShould also mention that my tech did not use a filter/fan when drilling off my existing polish, and no sanitary practices were presented indicating that instruments are disinfected between appointment .

Jess Bolger: The best nail salon in NYC. They have amazing nail art and all the nail techs are so talented and detail oriented. Plus my manicures last over a month. It’s definitely worth it!

She said they could re-do it free of charge, or if I emailed management, I could ask for a refund. Given they didn't have appointments available for me to get it re-done before my vacation

Alexandra: this is a bittersweet review to leave because the nail tech who worked with me was AMAZING like if she went somewhere else, I would go there. The front desk gave me a price before we started and when I went to pay it was almost 30 dollars more. That's playing with your customers money and your employees tips. I had to go to my savings to make sure I tip accordingly since the front desk not taking responsibility for their mistake should not land on an employees wallet.This should have been handled differently, either honoring the first price or giving some sort of second visit discount. Sadly I don't think I'll go back apart from removing this gel maybe.Definitely work with Gianni she was awesome and I had a great session with her.
Zoya Ghazi: I had a hard gel fill with Sumika. Right off the bat this salon does not have the correct hygiene practices. I didn’t see anything being sanitized correctly, files, buffers, and drill bits were reused without sanitization. It’s a huge risk for transmission. The french tip I got was neat enough but I was stressed the entire session because practically every nail was filed crooked. I came in with nails that were filed pretty well already, I just wanted a touch up and I had to ask her multiple times to fix them but it just kept getting worse. I saw other techs turning the hands around to cross check but didn’t get that with my tech. I couldn’t wait to get home and fix the shape and varying lengths. Not worth the price AT ALL.
