The staff is rude and unprofessional,very unorganized, they do not follow Covid 19 protocol at all. It’s a money thing for them that’s all they care about is getting your money. No real effort into the school it’s so much students to a class with not enough lockers. You can tell that they don’t care.Trust me for 10,000 is not worth no certifications are given. When leaving this school you’ll have to pay for extra/advanced classes outside of your tuition. There’s not even graduation for the students. The Owner of this school Vincent doesn’t care about the students or the teachers. So many teachers quit because of them. There’s a group right now about them where everyone who went here including the teachers who quit will tell you about the incompetence of this school.The kit they give you is garbage especially for 10,000 you’ll have to buy so many things outside of this kit that you’ll need. So if you can make time to attend the class in person, I recommend it 100%.When it came to the the State Board Exams, I passed with flying colors. Ms. J really made sure that the procedure was drilled into us and if you take the exam immediately after graduating, the better your chances in retaining what you learned in class. The state exams was something I was very nervous about the whole time while attending the course because it's what you're constantly being reminded you're working towards, but I truly feel in my heart that Ms. J did a SPLENDID frikking job making sure her students were prepared and knowledgeable for the exams.Also, after graduating, I was able to get a job which I am now in training for, with the help of Ms. Liz. She helps graduates with job placement and is such an understanding individual. The school really set me up to have a career after graduating, it's really amazing.I just finished my written exam earlier this week and the very next day, I received an email saying I passed. Every education is up to each student to make the most of but Brittany Academy really helped me every of the way.

Fancii Estevez: The instructors are great. But they need to get rid of Ms.Jo. That woman is brash and rude. She supposed to be the face of the school and the way she talks to people is disgusting. This school needs a revamp with administration asap. Word of warning, this school is disorganized and they do not work with your schedule or are flexible. Honestly never talked so much at any salon, that’s how comfortable they made me feel. Everyone was so pleasant and the environment was friendly. Another was for a relaxer. The last time was for color.I remember you telling me that you no longer have beautiful brown hair color. You will give me permanent hair color. I remember asking you will it make my hair fall out.I have never done permanent hair color. Always semi permanent color. You said no. It will not fall out.But my hair did fall out. I research and found out that permanent hair color has bleach in it. And it strips the hair and cause breakage. Which has happened.No I will not call you nor come back to your salon.You did have talented hair stylist whom have since graduated. On this given day, in which my hair was ruined. I was given a new stylist who must have been a beginner. I did not know the effect of having permanent hair dye applied to my relaxed hair , would cause this much damaged.

I drove from upstate everyday and never regretted it. When it was time for my state board I was the most prepared out of everyone there and even the instructors commented on my preparedness multiple times. Emily Medina: I came into this school March of 2022 for the Nail Technology program having experience on nails for 2 years thinking i wasn’t going to learn anything new I was just coming for my license but I came into this school and was proven to be wrong, Ms. Justalina taught me so much. How to not only improve the nails I do but how to make short and long term plans for my future as a nail technician. She made me tap into my creativity and practice a lot of amazing art to be able to do a little bit of everything. Ms. J is the best teacher I’ve ever had and I’ll forever have respect and love for her because she made me feel like my passion was important and teaching me how to get bigger and better was the cherry on top for me. But not only Ms. J but Ms. Melissa as well, she helped me create ideas on how to further promote my nails and make my business bigger and different ways to put myself out in the industry!! I adventured into the nail salon business with my creativity and no knowledge of the industry. After creating something special and extraordinary I realized I needed some real hands on training. I googled and found Brittany Beauty Academy. After expressing I had no experience in nail technology, I was briefed on the program and the requirements. Most of all I was assured I had a wonderful teacher and would be in good hands. It was an amazing experience to be apart of something so different and special. Especially after all the restrictions that came with the pandemic and Covid-19. Miss J is an experienced teacher a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all her students. She teaches from not only the text book but from her real life experiences. Something you cannot pay for. This was An encounter I will never forget. Thank you to miss J for a life changing adventure filled with so much love for everyone and Britany Beauty School for another accomplishment.

Even after graduating she has been open and supportive to me and others.My only critique would be that the administrative office communications were a bit bumpy throughout the program. I had initially signed up for school in Brooklyn and ended up in the Bronx because of enrollment numbers, but it was not communicated transparently to me. They were, however, flexible with my commute given this late change.

I was dissatisfied with the end result of said service, and so I asked to speak to the management team about the matter. I must say, I was very impressed with how management handled the situation. They arranged for me to come in the very next day so as to better assist me with my needs. To maintain a positive relationship with me, they offered various options for tackling the issue. Sam, who works with management, approached me with a respectful attitude and a professional demeanor. We mutually agreed on what the best option would be. My bfs daughter "attends" the school if you could even call it that, besides being ignored by teachers when asking for help during class or sending emails and never getting a reply. There is no option for inschool classes in Bronx area but in Brooklyn there is yet you pay the same for half the education. She's been having substitute teachers everyday now so no consistency. Such a scam of an "education"

The school keeps students creatively challenged with interesting competitions monthly and more importantly prep you and help you with finding employment. I wanted to get my license to only further my career in makeup but ended finding a new passion for hairstyling I didnt think I had. After spending a few short months here I'm graduating with a few employment opportunities and a new career road to follow. Shanice James: After touring many other schools, I've decided to complete my 1000 hours at Carsten. When I arrived for my school tour I saw instructors and students working together on clients. Immediately I decided that this was the school for me. I've learned alot through out my time from every instructor there. All the instructors are AMAZING! They really do care and have deep passion for the business. When I started I knew very little, but, after the instructors helped me I didn't just learn alot of knowledge, but they really helped me to boost my confidence and now I just wanna do it all! Yassema Amos: I used to go there for a whole 6 months and I paid $20 for a shampoo and wash. Then I stop and I went back this week. When the student gave me the paper to sign it was $25 then mr. B went to see her and I heard him say why $25 she said because her hair is long. I didn’t say anything. Then when it was time to pay, she say it’s 35 because you have a lot hair and next time it will be $50. If you are not happy with that go see mr. b. The price is not expensive so I did not say anything, but you cannot Charge a price and then switch it like it was my first time. They should of tell me upfront it would be more. Plus the student took more than two hours in my hair and I had to blow dry my own hair cuz I was getting irritated. I got there since 4:15pm and I had an appointment and no one available until 5:15pm. Then I left at 9:15pm with poor result and non professional student who made the price like she owes the place. I will never be back to this place again.

Melissa Rodriguez: I’m really sad to write this review since I booked this place a month in advance. The day of my appointment I came in late since I came from jersey and the rain that day made traffic even worse. I was in constant communication with the salon about my destination. I came in 18 minutes late so I came in before the policy stated I’ll be cancelled according to the website. When I come in the nail tech tells me she can’t do my nails because I’m 20 minutes late.. I try working something out and we did, she told me to come back at 3 or 3:30 I had an appointment booked at 4 near the area so I called so they can take me now and they did. I told her to give me a 10 minute notice so I can make sure I’m on time. She text me exactly at 3:30 to go right now. I said give me 10 minutes because you didn’t give me a warning and I said I will have to go to my next appointment and you said ok. I took a taxi from one avenue to the other so I’m not late. Again in NYC lots of traffic . I didn’t even let my lashes dry so I can make sure I make it. I even put the phone on loud when I was in the taxi because it said 10 minutes. The lady on the phone said she can’t do anything about it and wanted me to pay the cancellation fee which was over 100 dollars which was the service. I said just change the design at this point because I refuse to give that fee with all the traveling I’ve done all day to work with them. My nails started lifting day 3. By the time my trip was done I had no nails left. The service was done in 20 minutes. It was rushed, not good and just the atmosphere was disappointing. They would speak with other customers when they came in and when I came in they didn’t even look at me or say hello. I won’t be coming here since I didn’t even feel welcomed regardless of me being kind, apologizing for how the day went and never having an attitude and also being a new customer. I was looking forward to this art work for over a month! But I am glad they treat their regulars and others kind Atleast.Service:Nail extensions

Ziyu Gao: Art Up Nails is an amazing nail salon. Clean and accommodating. I accidentally mixed up my appointments and arrived late but Sandra and her team still saw me and gave me the best service. The environment is relaxing and clean, they were extremely nice and listened to my requests and what I wanted. I always get the Apres nail extensions and they last a long time and look gorgeous. They have so many cool designs and colors to choose from, with inspiration in store and on their instagram.It’s a clean, small studio with 5 stations. Easy to make and book appointment. Studio is within Sola Salon. You enter, go downstairs, and make a left to get to studio 24.Gail did the first part of removing my current gel x tips, cleaning up my natural nails, and preparing the new extensions to be placed on.Sandra did the extension placing, polish, and cleanup at the end.Both women are careful and take their time. Sandra and Gail were so sweet and kind. I chatted with Sandra about my nails and she educated me on how to help them get long and strong. They’re currently very damaged and sensitive, but, hopefully, that’s temporary.I told Sandra I have a bad habit of picking at every minor imperfection in my manicures , so she made sure to fix everything so I’d have nothing to pick at hahah. I really appreciate how much she cares about nail health. She explained every step to me right before she did it and patiently answered all my questions. She even let try out different colors on my nails before picking the perfect one. The studio is very clean.
