    Ashley H: The New York Public Library is fantastic to visit from beginning to end. The architecture alone is amazing, inside and out. The majestic steps leading to the pillars at the entrance are beautiful. There is always a free exhibit open to the public with rotating items and features. There is also a gift shop and library cafe. There are also quiet rooms to study or work. As a tourist, I’d plan at least an hour at this library. They do a bag check upon entry and exit, no food or drinks allowed.

    Michael A: If you are an avid genealogist, a lover of history, a native New Yorker wanting to do some research, or a tourist in love with the past, then please visit the New York Public Library's Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. It is loaded with various exhibitions, a cafe, a store, and a place to do silent research. The architecture is breathtaking and the staff are AWESOME. You can find me searching through the microfilms at Irma and Paul Milstein Division of United States History, Local History and Genealogy. Their reading rooms, microfilm equipment, and wonderful staff are to adore.

    Greg James: And yet they are all too eager to sell you overpriced merch in the gift shop. Disappointing.However, it might work better if you are able to book a tour in advance.

Clean.It’s close to the ferry and the seaside with Great views. I took ferry here from Jersey City, and the view was great 👍The downside might be there’s only 1 restroom, and sometimes it can be crazy here since reading area is on the same floor of children area.

Should I need a spot to sit and read/study this would definitely be on my list. the large windows in both the front of the building in the back don't hurt for scenery either.Staff behind the desk made checkout super easy, which means I'm totally adding BPCL to the list of fav. branches in Manhattan.

    Arturo Blanco: which is funny because I always leave 5 minutes before they close but she just tries to get rid of everyone saying they are closed 10-15 minutes before closing, I mean i get it you all wanna leave on time but like I said I always leave 5 minutes before closing, so they don't gotta worry about me. I'm only bringing it up now because last night at not 7 but 6:52 she said.

I’ll definitely take them up on that next time because you can tell the minute you walk in that this place is special . Quiet , serene and a curated selection of beautiful books . Yes there is a membership fee but I think it would be worth it for the events and having a quiet place to write and study . It’s all walker and wheelchair accessible , don’t let the stairs deter you they have a chair Lyft and automatic button to open door . A vintage Elevator can get you to the other floors .     Maria Barrera: The New York Society Library is a gem. The oldest library in New York City, it was founded in 1754 - their early records are digitized and can be searched in the library website. The collection is wonderful, carefully curated, housed in twelve floors of stacks, most of them open. It has beautiful spaces for reading and studying, including desks placed directly among the stacks - one of which, the Green Alcove, is pure magic. It also has an exhibition gallery, and hosts talks frequently. An amazing institution, that keeps alive an inclusive and welcoming spirit. Indeed, as some reviewers before me have noted, it is members-only, self sustaining and independent. No stuffiness here, only true love of books.

    Renae Francis: Its an interesting layout and the look is very big. I would recommend free headphones and free printing maybe 10 copies free. This is a public library which benefits the American Public. May I suggest more charging areas and some more courteous staff. I happened to be in the midst of writing with paper and pencil about me and happened to dose and lifted my head to a nasty voice telling me get up nastily.

    Sleepy Meow: This library is right beside the Lincoln center and the Julliard School. Inside has a bunch of musical research resources, including music literature in the first floor and music score in the second one.
