J: Their 1st Saturday events are culturally diverse, well executed, and totally epic. Whoever conceptualized the idea is a gift. Went to 1st Fridays @ MoMA expecting more since it's in the city, but literally nothing was going on! BK Museum blew them out of the water with live music, DJs, curated drinks, vendors, and true community interaction while still maintaining classy. Hip, quality museum with something for everyone! Michael A: A great place to learn about New York City's Transit System; it is historical, super engaging, and even fun for kids. I am an avid genealogist and amateur historian, born and raised in the Bronx. I enjoyed every second of it even though I am on the train a million times a week. I brought my father and brother. It was great; families everywhere, couples, old and young. I suggest buying your tickets in advance and arriving a few minutes before your allotted time. Don't go too early and don't go too late.

H B: Most underrated museum in NYC. Only $10 and you can touch basically everything. A lot of cute photo ops or just a fun place to bounce around historic subway cars reading ads from those time periods!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $6–10 …

Dalvin Brown: I work in the hospitality industry myself, and I was visiting here as a guest along with a coworker. The staff were friendly, alert, knowledgeable, interactive, and gave us a warm welcome. It reminded me off what I should continue to do in my own work. Mlre than that the transit museum provided information, a handful of special programs, insights on the MTA, before the MTA, people, workers, and a very strong wealth of history that is deeply rooted into the city of New York. For the price that you pay, it is very great. Seeing how accommodating the space was for guests with ADA and strollers was very insightful. In my opinion, I would suggest offering audio tour guides for a big space such as this one. Still, it was worth it overall. A solid 8/10

Museum of the Moving Image: what do users think?

Mike Silangil: Great for cinephiles. Always have a solid schedule of classic movies, especially on celluloid.

Robert F: This museum specializes in TV and movies and everything related to it. There are permanent exhibits of old cameras and other equipment used in the industry, an exhibit about the Muppet's and other exhibits. There is usually a temporary exhibit.Besides its exhibits , the museum has a movie theater and shows various foreign and independent films; often people associated with the movie talk afterwards about the film. I recently attended a preview showing of the first two episodes of the third season of a show on HBO called "How to with John Wilson.".

Marbara Stivers: Had a wonderful time here! The Jim Henson exhibit with the Muppets, Fraggle Rock and Dark Crystal characters was amazing. The TV show memorabilia was nostalgic. The rotating exhibit we saw was all about makeup, wigs, etc. Several interactive exhibits were quite interesting: puppet show, stop-action movie, sound dubbing, etc. Buy your movie tickets ahead of time and then add on the museum for just $5 when you get there.

Dylan Paul: A/C has been broken for two weeks so it’s quite uncomfortable in there during the peak of summer weather. They only told us this after buying tickets, which were at full price. Sort reviews by recent to track how long this has been an issue. Their HVAC was upgraded in 2021 — is it broken? Or does it cost too much? The muppets are soggy!

I learned a lot and it was a ton of fun. The exhibit could have taken up the entire building. They just need more about my favorite muppet, Animal. The exhibit showcasing the history of TVs, cameras, and sound equipment was fascinating as well. Worth the trip to Astoria!

Steven Liu: short and sweet

Nastassia Fokina: I haven’t seen a good immersive exhibition here since pipiloti rist. I get social narrative of justice, gender, racism and so on and I applaud to more and more public programs shining light on these topics, BUT past exhibits and the current one is so boring- aesthetically and narratively. Sculptures have disgusting overthought shapes, the heart piñata has annoying sound making your presence on the floor nervewracking. And in the end you learn nothing, you just come out of the museum a bit more unstable than you were before. Disappointing, not interactive , not imaginative at all, an exhibition that exists to be an exhibition for the people who curated it.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art: what do users think?

Chris Siegle: This was honestly my first time visiting an art museum. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was surprised at how incredible and moving the art was. I realize this is obvious to some, but I truly had no idea how captivating it would be. Not being a fan, we'd only set aside an afternoon for our visit. We were there for four hours, saw as much as we could, and wish we could have spent more time at the Met. Of course our favorite section, as first time visitors, was the European section but we also enjoyed many other sections. The Van Gogh exhibit about the Cypresses was interesting and informative; enlightening to see the process and iterations of a master's evolution of his craft. We spent a few minutes in the cafe, which was well organized and easy to access. We did have a hard time navigating, especially around the closed sections and would appreciate digital maps that would help navigating around closures.

Dominique Holliday: The MET did not disappoint. We recommend going for at least one full day to really take in all of the art work. We felt like we didn’t have enough time with the Art after going for 5 hours. The museum is thoughtfully curated and everything feels super intentional with their design choices. We had the chance to see the Van Gough exhibit that is on view while we were there and it was STUNNING. We also really enjoyed all of the beautiful glass pieces and their extensive stained glass collection that is on display throughout the entire Museum.

Carolyn Weddell: A literal treasure trove. When the special exhibitions are too daunting due to crowds, we fall back on the superb Japan gallery and American wing -- but really, any hall here is filled with marvels. And as noted previously re the restaurant: Wonderful views, lovely dining area, solicitous staff, luscious & imaginative food.

Lyz Kurnitz-Thurlow: Great exhibits. Currently, J.C. Leyendecker who, in the first 30 or so years of the last century, did wonderful ads, often for men's wear, of beautiful men, who, when there were women in the picture, did not look at all interested in them!Other wonderful historical exhibits too.

Justin Wong: Great museum. I came for the J.C. Leyendecker exhibit which was great for Pride. Loved the Tiffany Lamps and the Oval Office recreation that you can sit behind the President's desk and take a picture at. Also loved the Time Life archives and the We The People piece. Plus there's a portrait of the nurse who was the first person in the country to get a COVID vaccine. The lady leading tours was fascinating and engaging!

Spencer Owen: Highly recommended checking out this lovely museum! They have a really nice variety of exhibits and the Tiffany Lamp exhibit on the top floor is a MUST to visit. They have an interactive exhibit where you design your own Tiffany dragonfly lamp and I was quickly humbled by how difficult it actually is to make something that doesn't look like a kaleidoscope exploded. Beautiful museum with a lovely and fair priced gift shop as well! Build this into your day if you're doing the museum circuit!

I B: or guides answering questions and providing more details in the lamp gallery when I went. Very friendly and accommodating.

Spencer Murphy: Beautiful curation, amazing, important art, horrible management of personnel. Staff and patrons are permitted to be loud in a space that should be, if not silent, at least reverent, and their conduct should reflect that. The place is a giant cement tube; sound travels, and without any effective form of sonic treatment, one can hear people yelling from several floors away. It didn’t used to be this way - what changed? I should not be responsible, as a patron, for ensuring the appropriate behavior of my fellow patrons - or the docents, some of whom seem all too willing to make noise. Further, in the one space in the museum in which it is appropriate to make noise, the gong exhibit, one is told “these are not instruments, hit them only once.” They are, however, instruments, whose capacity for the production of sound may never be fully appreciated by most patrons thanks to the docent staff. Likewise, beyond the micromanaging assertion otherwise, they are instruments, yet they are allowed by docents to be pummeled by ignorant patrons as nauseum. The whole thing is shameful. What happened? This used to be a temple to art, now it feels like little more than a poorly-managed cash grab.

Nina Xiao: I feel angry to see the prayer room. It is installed like a tourist attraction. I don’t think it is decent to worship a god you do not know. It is better if the museum does not engage people in the process of worshiping. The meditation center on top floor is such a joke. Membership programs for art, meditation, etc. makes me feel western gaze. This is like always attending Christian gatherings for free dinner without thinking of getting to know the religion. But it does a better job than MET to make sure no one touch the installations. In MET you can literally see some stone status in Asia section are touched too much that they display a different texture, while the guards make sure that you do not get too close in medieval section.Maybe I just feel offended by looting from the last century, and I do not know how the museum can go better. This is just a random comment anyways.

Princess Danielle: This museum is huge, definitely the biggest one I’ve ever been too. They have everything here from the early humans to life now. There is something for literally everyone here and expect to spend a good amount of time here because of how much there is to see. If you live in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut you can pay any amount you want but if you don’t live in any of those places the price for admission is $28 for adults, $16 for children, and $22 for students and people over age 60. But I was annoyed we spend so much for tickets and we didn’t enjoy our visit at all! I prob won’t go back as I hated the new layout. The butterfly exhibit was crowded and it looked so lame. The one by me is actually much nicer. This was disappointing! But if you or your kiddo are into dinosaurs then def should visit, just ask if it is suggested and give them $10 or something. Best

Puja Devi: for the new, and admittedly the best, exhibits. I didn’t wanna pay so didn’t go. The rest of the museum was rather mediocre. The architecture at the Gilder Center was amazing though. Very unique.

CHASTEL Anne: Huge lots to see

Maurice Suter: Very unfriendly

Mark B: Went last week. Says the entrance fee is your choice. Then after queuing for nearly 45 mins. They say you need to pay full amount, and the donation no longer applies. Merchant's House Museum: what do users think?

Dave Thurman: A remnant of old New York

Michael Moskowitz: A charming glance into the past! If you love nostalgia, ghost stories and NYC history, you will enjoy the tour. Only drawback is that "old house smell"! Or maybe it's Gertrude...

Juliana Simone: The Merchant House also has garden events which include wine and jazz music on Thursdays this summer. See their calendar for events you can enjoy.

The staff are helpful and nice. New York Hall Of Science: what do users think?

Marissa Schwartz: I think one of the best parts of the museum is sadly one of the shortest - the biology section. The museum is great for thinking about math & science but i think more sections on biology & natural sciences would be an excellent addition.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Price for adult entry $11–15 …

M O: We arrived after 2p as recommended on their website on a Friday and admissions was free. This is a great place to bring young kids of varying ages - lots of fun activities for them...and there are monitors/guides, places for adults/parents to watch, participate, take a rest at. There's a dining room, lockers, gift shop, rest rooms. Besides activities there is a gallery area and theater.

Timothy Albert: I came here a couple weeks ago with my family and my brothers family. Between the two of us, we have three children aged 16, 12, and 2. Everyone had a great time here. There was something for all ages. From a monitored preschool play area to hands on interactive stuff for the bigger kids. Robots, electricity, mini-golf, and rockets. I would recommend to anyone with a family looking for something to do to come check out the Hall of Science for a day or two if you're in the area.

Christopher Membreno: Very interactive. Lots of things to keep young children engaged.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $16–20 …
