Manhattan Halal Restaurant: what do users think?

Michael Rivera: Back in the days I came here often and I left them a very generous tip each time. Usually I get a little bit extra or a side order. We would go back and forth with long conversations, they answered questions about race, religion and even have conversations outside the restaurant. They would explained in detail what was each meal and deals available or make a deal where you pay a little more and experience more halal food. It was our mutual way of appreciation. It's kind of look like a Subway restaurant that got converted into a halal restaurant and I respected that. Then I notice that the older males and cook were placed with young men. The service was great and then rapidly declined. I came in one day to get my usual plate and the young guys over the counter not only overcharged me and I knew this. They had the nerve to asked for a tip and ask me why wouldn't I tip? They charge me double the amount I usually pay. They barely looked in my direction because they was too bothered talking to each other and then to put insult to injury they asked me to tip them after their disgraceful behavior. They was completely rude. I never came back and a few months later it closed its doors. The restaurant is no longer available. I give 3 stars. It was never a 2 and it would have been 4/5 if it wasn't for those two idiots.

ramesh ch: in pink color that tasted much sweet.. just added garlic on top on the dry roti and served as garlic naan. Not a go-to place for Indian food lovers.

Hossam Naguib: . Not recommended AT ALL !!!

Mohammad Hasibul Hasan: the worst !!!! none of the items looked fresh, ordered chicken tikka & tandoori considering pale looked other dishes..got burnt tandoori very hard & not freshhave serious lackings in hygiene, cleanliness & professionalismplease be aware

Farida: what do users think?

Melanie Tam: . The meat was braised, which made it pretty dry.I think they are counting on the fact that there aren’t many Uzbek restaurants in the city, and because of that, they can charge higher prices for mediocre food. Each entree is around $20-$25, which is pretty pricey, considering it is mostly rice. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes. At least I can cross this place off the list now. Even though I didn’t have a great first experience with Uzbek cuisine, I know there are better restaurants out there, so the search shall continue.Tip - they automatically charge a 20% service fee

Asaph Jagendorf: . The salad/dip plate came with little bread, and when we asked for more we received dried baguette slices. Seriously? Varenniki had very little potato inside. High prices completely unjustified considering what you get. Treat your customers more seriously please.

Sana Waheed: Food: 5/5

Rasa: what do users think?

Sam Myint: The food, customer service and view were all amazing! We visited here since this was pretty much the only place that serves halal Malaysian food. My favorite is Hainanese chicken...simply the best. Also the Thai iced tea is outstanding and refreshing...I ordered two of them, that's how good it was. The owners and waiter were so caring and always made sure we had everything we need. For the dessert you got to go with onde onde...the owner brought us some tea on the side, in-house. Also my wife wanted a side of clear soup and the owner brought it for her for free. Overall amazing experience here and we actually went back for second time in our 7 days stay for the vacation. Must try place in NYC!!!Dietary restrictions: Halal

Linda Ding: Overly priced with the quality of food worse then the food truck under my apartment

Rn Fy: So this is an updated review. I have been to this restaurant twice since the first review and I must say there has been a change of heart. The quality of food has been great since the first visit. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day since the first visit. But for Halal Malaysian food, this is one is highly recommended. Note that they do also serve alcohol in here

Najeeb Abdullah: I heard about this halal Malaysian spot downtown and came to check it out. It is quite nice place inside and good amount of seating. I order this dish that looked like a ramen and the broth was beyond amazing. We also ordered this chicken and rice dish with blue rich. Don't judge rice by it's color!! This blue rice was soo unique and good. This spot is such a wonderful little halal spot!! I would definitely recommend this spot to others looking for unique halal cuisine!!

Farook Halal Food: what do users think?

Pervez Virani: Food here is great.

brenda okoro: Not so tasty

Mike Adams: Farook is a legend and his halal cart was one of the highlights of my time at NYU. If I'm in the city I sometimes make a point to go out of my way to get to 14th street just for a chicken and lamb over rice. Its been awhile since I've been but if he's still doing potatoes instead of the salad that most carts put in to cut some of the actual substance then this is for sure the GOAT halal cart. I wish Farook well and hope he knows what his presence means to a lot of us.

Dan Luu: Probably the best Halal cart I've tried, including the Halal Guys cart before they got big. I'm not sure why this place hasn't gotten big. Not as good at marketing, I guess.

Harrison Chen: Recommended dishes

Mick Kwan: There is a reason why this Halal food truck is highly rated compared to others in the area. Recommend to try the Chicken Over Rice. You must come and try for yourself to understand why it's a 5-stars. Probably top 3 halal food trucks in the neighborhoods in my opinion. It's DEFINITELY better than Halal Guys nearby when compare to overall quality and price. There's a food court where you can find plenty of seats, just about 30 steps away from the food truck, FYI.

Ethan Fulton: Consistent, flavorful, well priced halal food good for any time of the day or night

Chris rivera: Amazing lamb over rice love coming by here flavor is on point. A must try if you’re in NYC.

Billy: Recommended dishes Chicken Kebab, Lamb Gyro, Falafel over Rice, Combination

Hyun Joong Kim: + drinks.

Magen Chadha: easily the best halal in nycchicken/combo over rice

Mueed Rehman: . Avoid!

Tim Palmieri: Best Halal cart around, full-stop. Cash only FYI

Salman Iftikhar: My colleague always gets mixed over rice platter from this cart all the time. There are so many Halal Carts around the area and if he chooses to go there specifically then there is definitely something good with the taste and price. I will try to get food from this cart next time around. The cart does have a loyalty card and after 10 platters you get the 11th one for free. I would highly recommend this cart if you are around the area.

Michael S Fiorini: , and potatoes at Farook’s. One of only a handful of places I prayed would weather the pandemic, and he did. Lifelong loyalty, and glad the tourists think other carts are better so the wait is shorter for the locals. 👏🏻 Now I need to go get a plate, major craving.

The Halal Guys: what do users think?

Tonghong Chen: Huge portion with great protein and veggies under $15

karthik G: It's a very famous chain but there's only one table here so I recommend taking it out and eating in your car or at your home. The quality is good and sauces always enhance the taste. The quantity is too much so order the small even when there's no price difference between small and large as you'd only end up wasting food. We had to wait for 15mins to order and pick up 3 orders so I'd say very reasonable wait periods. I definitely recommend this place for some authentic Mediterranean food.

lucky pizza: One of the worst food ever. Waste of $21 dollars

Hanif Ahmed: Too much expensive then ever you expectBetter to go find somewhere else

Abu Raihan: Too much priceBottle of water cost 2 dollarsManues are too much high price

Jobanie Gonzalez: Delicious, the pita bread and hummus is to die forRecommended dishes Side Hummus, Chicken & Beef Combo, White Sauce Hit Sauce and White Sauce Pouch, Sauce …

Jaysmoove: Best haLal food

Abhijeet Gulhane: Recommended dishes Falafel, White Sauce Hit Sauce and White Sauce Pouch

Teysha x3: Spoiled chicken

Madhava Hansen: I love the halal guys, but this location is really bad. Tastes like vinegar and too much salt. Such a shame. I’ll continue getting halal guys from the carts and other locations but never again from here. Just wasted $40 ordering to Brooklyn from here ugh.

Dupa Sambake: I don't understand why this place is so famous. I could not eat more than 15% of the platter. This is not tasty at all, a desillusionDietary restrictions: Halal

Dave Depilot: from push carts and food trucks for many years. The chicken is usually an orange/red color from the spices/flavors added to give it the smell and taste that we love. It was Sunday and the usual cart I get it from was not there. It was hard to find one actually. I was near LIC so I googled it and this place came up. I was starving and didn’t bother to read reviews. I got the chicken over rice regular platter. The size was very good. The flavor of the chicken was bland, no spices, no color, no flavor. It looked and tasted like cooked chicken. The rice was good and lettuce/tomato was fresh.I usually get white sauce and same amount of barbecue sauce. They don’t put the sauce on, they give you packets. Weird since it gives you that processed food vibe. But the white sauce came in a big packet. And it was very good. He gave me 2. And 2 barbecue packets. But bbq came in a standard packet like ketchup, so 2 packets is not much. Yes my own fault for not checking but I was so hungry I just didn’t even think to check. I drove where my wife was to pick her up and I ate there.I ate it because I had driven from PA that morning and it was 1pm and I hadn’t eaten yet. But I wouldn’t recommend it. It seems like the name has/had some appeal but I didn’t experience that. And the platter and a 20oz coke was $16 and change.$7-8 from a truck or cart. The service was great. Greeted me, which is rare for NYC. Food was ready in a couple of minutes. Very nice guy.
