Jada Coleman: Because I've heard so many good stuff about the amazing store Mood fabrics I was so excited to visit for the first time today but I felt very uncomfortable with the staff today especially the guy that works in the trims department he was very rude and disrespectful. I did get a chance to look at some amazing fabrics but when it was time to check out the lady with the glasses on was very rude as well. I didn't like her attitude towards me. I think because I was black she was acting funny because not only did she act funny with me but she was rude to another African American person as well. He complained about how disrespectful she was to him as well. It's sad because i was so excited to visit for the very time but I won't be back I don't like the way they treated myself and the other black customer. I really hope that they don't treat the two African Americans workers like this.
Allandra Mc Eachrane: I had a project for a class that required swatches, they were very helpful. If you want exclusive fabrics that the big designers use, mood is one of the top places the designers send the rest of their fabric to after competing their production quotas. Tip, if you go for swatches, identify all the fabrics and pull them out abit , note the rows/location then get an attendant to go around with you to get them all at once. Doing it any other way makes you look like an amateur and maybe abit inconsiderate of the attendants and other customers.

everybody lovestoney: I can spend all day here as I’m getting ready to become great! Some of the staff is not friendly. However my experience with Riley was the BEST! Very attentive and educated me on the fabric selections. I feel like I only want to work with him now.. lol. Great energy and eager to step up to the plate. He’s a wonderful employee. Jennifer Haberman: Finally got the chance to visit this Saturday after seeing the shop for years on Project Runway. There was so much amazing fabric and the associates were wonderful. The reason I'm not giving 4 or 5 stars is that it's extremely hot in there and there's no AC and not even any fans. Customers and staff alike were sweltering. Where my sister and I planned to spend hours in the store, we found ourselves getting light-headed and having to leave to cool down. I wonder at the staff's wellbeing, too. Please, Mood, be kind to us all and at least get some fans running in there!

Alexandra Perl: I really don't understand a lot of the reviews below, I have had a great experience with this store. They are very knowledgeable and helpful, especially if you're trying to figure out a design for a fabric you fell in love with. It is pretty expensive but for the quality of the fabric you are buying, you won't regret it. I have only ordered online and corresponded thru phone and email but I have heard the actual store is amazing.

Humdidalaytor: the owner asked me if I was actually going to buy something or just look. I was shocked to see her being more personable to her fellow employees than the customer. This is a business which should support creativity, enthusiasm and customer relations, all of which I did not experience at this store. So, if you're looking for really beautiful fabrics and do not care about the shopping experience, this is still one of the best stores in the city, otherwise, look elsewhere.*editI just took a closer look at the fabric I purchased and it’s covered in black stripes of some sort of residue.
K S: Ordered a sample for $10. Owner said fabric was not sample-able because it had a large pattern. Refused to refund me the $10. Wonder how many people she's done this to?Response to owner: Well, it did happen. I called asking for a refund and the lady on the phone said that you don't refund such a small amount. I asked her to at least send me a sample of something else, which she didn't do. I'm not about to go searching for my order number after all this time. If you had wanted to resolve the matter, a refund would have been issued when I called the store.

clth89: Joe’s Fabric is a wonderful store with wonderful people. They were really helpful and had a wide variety of fabrics. The store is for home decor, yet my daughter still found some really nice fabrics that she made clothing with. When the owner heard that she make doll clothes, they gave her a huge bag of samples that had been discontinued. I would 100% recomend this store.

Donna Vestuti: Beware... over priced, low quality, and subpar customer care. Had window treatments that broke within 8 months. Joe’s Fabric does not stand behind their products. I had to chase them down, by calling them and calling them...got through to the owner who kept telling me to call back. I called throughout the year, as Covid posed problems, however to date the owner never made good on her continuing promise to call with a date to repair. Over a year and a couple thousand dollars later, I still have a broken Roman shade. Worst experience ever.

Jon Howell: If you've been wandering around the storefronts full of random bargain bins, this isn't that store. B&J has a staggering selection of fabrics visible as samples neatly organized on hangars. If you're looking for just the right shade and just the right texture in just the right fiber, like I was today, this is where you'll be able to find it.
Natalie K: This is the place to go when you want to splurge on high quality fabrics or just ogle some.They're located on the 2nd floor, and the building entrance is at the right hand side of Starbucks.They hang the fabric samples which is much easier to browse than rolls. They carry top quality fabrics from Italy as well as more mid range ones.I was worried based on the reviews of rude staff but I had a pleasant experience. They don't ask if they can help unless you approach them, true. But I personally prefer to be left alone so that I can browse the fabric in peace. And when I did approach the staff for help, they were very helpful and friendly.I'd have spent a whole day here if I had time. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in NYC.

They have no courtesy and are in a bad mood. That should be corrected! One goes there to buy not to ask for a gift. When I went I didn't buy, because they weren't nice to me! Just a disclaimer for anyone who may be visiting, this seems to be a fabric store for professionals and/or people who know exactly what they are looking for and don't need a whole lot of assistance. If you are looking for assistance to help you find or select products, don't go here you will be ignored. No one even acknowledges you are in the place, or they just look at you and avoid speaking to you at all costs, haha.

It's the best service ever and makes ordering easy, and ordering swatches easy, too. Since I know I won't have to wait long for my order to arrive. Love this place so much!
