My dog loves the snacks and treats I purchase from there, and he loves the new dog food I purchased there which you see in the picture. He has more energy, and his bowel movements are much better. Inadequate lighting, and some species that should be housed alone will have 3 or more in enclosure like leopards and gargoyles geckos. Bare minimum needs are met. If that I won’t get started on the fish ! But the bettas suffering. Ide shop around first I’ve given them almost a year of business with my first couple transactions Being several hundred, hoping the next week would be better experience then I the last, hoping they see the value in the returning customer, but each time I’m proven they can careless of my business with they way the conversations go. So this is the last week I’ll return. The convinces of working two train stops away was the main drive to further business but honestly it’s worth my time to go out my way from now on.

Paola Liranzo: Today I bought dubia roaches and I’m so disappointed. It was my first time purchasing here so I was excited that I found a place where I can buy it live. Based on the amount I was charged it was a red flag since the guy told me they were $2 for 40. I asked for the value of $10… I also got horn worms which he said the container was $16 something. He also recommended some other worms and gave me two small cup containers so I got 2 of those. The whole thing somehow added up to $256. So here is my main reason for the review! Dubia roaches DONT CLUMB UP. I keep mines in a fish tank since they can’t climb up the glass. After merging the ones I purchased with the ones I already had, I was in disbelief after seeing that some were climbing up. I immediately killed them all and sprayed Raid. All I thought about was wow I spent my money on nothing. When you go to a pet store and ask for a specific thing you trust the person since they’ll most likely have more knowledge about such things than you but I really feel played. More than 5 roaches climbing up by that person error was the end result of my whole colony dying and my money being spent for nothing. I feel like I was overcharged. If Dubia roaches is what y’all looking for I wouldn’t recommend this place. Perhaps for everything else yes but selling something to someone who asked for a specific thing and having it merged with other roaches should be illegal since I didn’t asked for regular roaches! I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this might help someone else who is probably looking for what I tried to purchase. Now they’re aware that they too might not get just one kind of roach they might get a different breed out of the bunch.

Julian Steve: The pet shop is clean and you can tell the animals are well taken care of. The employees were nice and helpful with my purchase of a Zebra Finch. Other then that, I do not like the store policy when it comes to purchasing pets. Why would I need to buy $15 bird food that I already have at home? Why would I need to buy $18 vitamin that I can purchase for less than $12 at another petshop in NYC? I ended up spending more than I needed today. Shaking my head…

DreiDrei: I had been looking to buy cat nail clipper for awhile. I couldn't find anyplace around where I live to buy it until I went into Tropical Pets. Found the nail clipper for my two baby's, & bought them some cat treats that are good for their teeth. The cashier was very respectful, & the prices weren't that bad. A bit high from other places I've been to in the past, but nowadays everything has gone up so it is understandable. I will be going again when needed.

Tujuana Worthen: I visited this Petco yesterday to purchase some food for my furry daughter. Its an upscaled pet store with beautiful decor. I was very impressed upon entering. However the prices are higher than other Petos which doesn't work for me in these times of inflation. I was suprised to learn that the the refrigerator food items weren't stacked. There were very little food items inside. So most likely I will not be returning to purchase anything at this store instead only to explore its beauty.

Latisha G: This new location has put an emphasis on pet and pet owner experience. The minute you walk into the store you’re wowed.You have an all around experience for you and your pet. Having a Vetco clinic in store as well as the needs for your pet is a great experience. You do not have to go from one location to the next to find the proper care, grooming services, food or dog accessories etc. There are more food brand options that the old location did not have before. Brands that you would find in your local pet store.The location is very inviting, the way it was designed is very nice.

Philipru4real: Unfortunately, when you deal with the public, you deal with everyone, although there are always two sides to every story, there is the third side that nobody reads into it when somebody attacks your business in a public setting it becomes very frustrating. Good bad, or indifferent in this industry there are many people who look to make remarks that are less than complementary while the rescues want to take everything over and the undercover animal flippers definitely want the same. I commend the owner of this company for speaking up against some of the asinine remarks that are being posted on Google reviews. I know firsthand what it’s like dealing with the public, and while many of them are customers who you appreciate over and over again there are the ones, you wish you never had in your place of business or the computer warriors who sit behind the monitor and Trash Talk your business for no reason other than a personal agenda of their own.

Rather than addressing valid complaints, they defensively dismiss any concerns, showing a lack of empathy. The exorbitant prices for cats, including breeds, are disheartening when countless rescues await loving homes. A dire need for improvement in customer service and ethical practices is evident.

Maxwell Johnson: I acquired a young cat from the store approximately half a year ago. In the initial month, she fell seriously ill, leading to significant veterinary expenses of around $1,000. We were assured that we would be reimbursed for these bills within the first month. Despite contacting the owner multiple times, we never received any refund.Furthermore, the store claimed that the cat had been microchipped and neutered, which turned out to be a complete fabrication. Consequently, we had to bear the cost of these procedures ourselves.Had we been aware of the appalling manner in which the shop owner responds to Google reviews, we would have avoided the establishment at all costs. If she treats her customers in such a manner, one can only imagine how the animals are treated. We ended up paying an exorbitant sum of $4,000 for a sick kitten.It is my sincere hope that this store is forced to cease its operations. The business exhibits unethical practices, and I find it astonishing that it continues to operate. Essentially, they are scam artists who lie and sell pets at inflated prices. The owner deserves to face legal consequences just like the rest of her animals. Upon conducting some research, I discovered that there is an ongoing investigation into the matter.
