Angelika Film Center: what do users think?

C Mck: Favorite theater over the years. Tickets can be booked online. They have a membership program that’s free with some perks. Friendly staff. Basic bathrooms. They have a cafe you can hang out in beforehand with iced coffee and drinks. Great location not too far from WSP and soho

Iuliia Koloskova: . You can buy beer and popcorn. No nonsense.Tickets are pricey as everywhere in NYC. 19$ at the moment.

Kathy Slawinski: Good place, interesting films

Tevin Vuong: If you enjoy independent films, you should definitely check out the Angelika Film Center. The theatre showcases some of the best indie movies and provides a unique and intimate movie experience. The staff is friendly, and the venue has a classic, old-school theater feel. The employees are always welcoming and helpful, making you feel at home. Additionally, the bathroom facilities are clean and hygienic. The only drawback is that the seats could be more comfortable. However, this is a minor issue that is more than compensated for by the overall experience. The Angelika Film Center offers an excellent movie experience for those who appreciate independent films. The theatre is definitely worth a visit, from its friendly staff to its cleanliness.

Kevin Mercurio: Nice theater. Nice staff. Nice cafeThe membership program seems great. Free showing once we month and half off on Wednesdays. 10% off food/drink$19 does seem a little much for one ticket though

Scarlett: Expensive comparing to cinemas with similar style. Small screen

Adam Segal-Isaacson: . Nice that you get to choose how much butter flavoring to put on your popcorn.

FFragnar: Sakin ve güzel bir yer. Astroid city izledik gayet eğlenceliydi.

Leila Habibi: Lovely atmosphere

Mikkel Hendison: which clogged the flow of ingress and egress. escalator was also broken.once inside the theater, there was no formal notice after the extremely lengthy previews and commercials that the movie was going to begin a la “turn off your phones, thanks for coming etc.”there was also no way to tell people outside the theater that the movie was beginning

Jimmy Seo: Great alcohol selection and make sure don’t pick seats that are too far back, the theaters aren’t elevated so you are looking at the screen straight on

Film Forum: what do users think?

Brendan Eccles: Great place to see a wide variety of excellent films.

Stephen McGroarty: The best movie house this side of the Mississippi

Maria Plochocki: I love going to this cinema for its selection of classics and worthwhile new works of film. The concession stand is great, too.

Kathy Slawinski: Great place to see movies-- good snacks, nice people-- films you won't see anywhere else

SRINATH NARAYANAN: Great for indie films!

Kumi Ichikawa: The place to see the cinema.

Taha Duri: It is a NYC landmark with which I associate too many good memories to count. Their curated film selections are of excellent quality and serve to educate and enlighten. One can always count on the Film Forum for a good showing even when uncertain what to watch. The staff are cordial in a New York way, which is hard to describe but is understood. I recommend the Film Forum to lovers of good cinema in the broadest range of tastes possible.

P M: Good movie selection

Thomas Müller: Nice program cinema

Jason Harris (Public Speaking): A NYC staple. One of the reasons I live here.

Jakob W. Plummer: .Indie films - international films - and multiple options for becoming a member.Super reasonable prices too.

Bonnet Flavian: Very nice movie theater ! Great films are running , was glad to find as a cinema fan !

Shant Rising: Fun film experience.

The NYGalavant (TheNYG): Asteroid City; Past Lives

Gian Villarruel: Food is really good. Recommend the Fried Chicken Sandwich and Nitehawk Nachos

Trinity Noriega: pretty neat theater, good options of drinks and food, cool previews of box office movies as well as indie projects. the only negative i had was because of me sitting next to a stranger. the attendee said that they would do separate tabs this time, but to "make sure it doesn't happen next time." i also got charges for the strangers food and the cards got mixed up anyway.. this is really discouraging as someone who likes to watch theaters alone. definitely go with a friend and share a table.

Ofer Baratz: My favorite way to enjoy cinema

Olivia Pasquinelli: Great date night - fun vibes with interesting movies and good food and cocktails

Alexandre Dalyac: The best vegan banh mi this side of the Hudson. Honest.

Jaye Aster Broder: Nice theater with fair priced food and drink. There are a lot of steps. I didn’t seem an elevator but I might have missed. Good movies are shown here.

Juan Cardenas: Great service and atmosphere .... watching asteroid city withy daughter

Duncan Grant: Special

MG: Excellent service. Ok theater and food experience.

Ty: I remember going here back in the days when it was a different name. I like how they renovated the place. Plus it’s now a dine in theater. They get an extra star for having alcoholic frozen drinks.

wayne miller: . Highly recommend this theater 4 serious movie buffs.

Emily Wang: Independent movie theater that full of nostalgic vibe.

Dakota C: Very nice theater, great for indie flicks.

R Popkin: Show a good mix of indie movies and high grossing movies

Rafael López, Jr.: Always a positive experience.Friendly staff.Clean theater.Great concession choices.

Evonne A: A charming little theater

Hahn Films: We need to keep these small indie theatres alive! Cinema Village is an amazing venue for premiering your independent films and viewing arthouse cinema. Not only is this theatre a gem in the East Village but the staff, led by Lee, are so friendly and accommodating. I cannot wait for a week of fantastic works as I moderate for the Big Apple Film Festival at this awesome establishment.

Romario Domi: Nice little independent movie theater with great prices. The screen was on the smaller side but still good. Very, very small seating both in terms of width and legroom. I do not recommend if you're tall and/or heavy. I was so uncomfortable the entire time.

Elizabeth F: $36 covered a 830pm movie for 2, 1 large popcorn and a small drink. This place is great for a no-frills old school theater. I’ll be back

Roxy Cinema: what do users think?

Mark Permann: but the aisle lights were not dimmed during the movie, ruining the ambiance of low light scenes. Won't go back unless they fix this.

Mi One7: Super coolIn 1973, Lou Adler and Elmer Valentine, with help from original partners, David Geffen, Elliot Roberts and Peter Asher, opened the now world famous music venue. These successful men got together to create The Roxy after they witnessed one too many venues neglect, mistreat and deceive several artists. Their dream to open a state of the art venue where artists of all musical genres felt at home became a reality on September 20th, 1973. The grand opening was celebrated by a 3 night performance by Neil Young. The first year featured headliners such as Cheech and Chong, Jerry Lewis, The Temptations and Frank Zappa. In the passed 40 years, The Roxy has been a launching platform for aspiring artists and a home for those that are well established in the industry.Simultaneously in 1973, Lou and Elmer opened a Private Membership Only lounge above The Roxy called On The Rox. This lounge was a personal hang out for the owners and their collective friends. As popularity of this exclusive club grew, it became one of the hottest hangouts for celebrities on the Sunset Strip. Proof of paid membership was displayed by a key. Not only did it give the clientele a feeling of comfort but proprietorship as well. OTR has been a safe haven for such VIPs as John Lennon, Alice Cooper, Neil Young and Robert De Niro, just to name a small handful. Today, OTR is for the 21 and over crowd that want to experience an intimate evening with some of the greatest up and coming acts in LA.

Hernando De La Rosa: Excellent place with all the best and beautiful attention felling in your own home with a lot diversity movies, sharing an unforgettable moments with your family and friends.

Melissa Naja: Amazing hidden Jem theater! I went to see Padre Pio on Friday night. Small room but classic. A little thing I wish they have better blind to cover the door. People are walk in and out during the movie and I was interrupted by them. The theater is in basement of Roxy hotel and more than just cinema, I entertain by the interesting cozy vibe of all bars and decoration. I don't really hang out in the area so much, now I will probably be checking out Tribeca more.

Cate: Great programming at this movie theater but they have one of the stupidest ticketing setups I've ever seen, where the person who sells tickets also sells concessions AND also has to check the tickets for people who have already bought their tickets online. You will wait in a horrid long line no matter when or how you bought your tickets and this system makes everyone angry.

claire fogarty: Amazing theater always playing great movies with awesome staff. Definitely check this place out. Staff is always super friendly and this is one of my favorite theaters in the city.

Patty Greer: An absolute staple of the neighborhood. I love the programming! After a few times of coming to movies I began chatting w the concessions staff to realize they all have the best taste huge knowledge of the movies screening. Will keep coming back, a not so hidden gem.

John Stelmaszek: Great theatre with friendly staff!

Karen Hatch: Cool place. I’ll go back.

Luna Martínez: if you need to go to the restroom during the movie, as the door is on that side and otherwise you’ll have to walk across the screen to get there!

Ben: My favorite little cinema in nyc. Great curation. Cozy and intimate. I’ve seen some fantastic films here!

Vicious Vaudeville: A hidden gem in an expensive hotel. Great ambience and movie selection. Despite the cost of everything else in the building, the movies don't cost any more here than other theaters. They also have a very reasonable membership option.

AMC Lincoln Square 13: what do users think?

Shelvin: Always a vibeeee

Stephen K: This theater SUCKS. Their flagship draw is the 70mm IMAX, but they also have another "70mm" that is NOT an IMAX, and it's a huge waste of time and money! Half the seats are broken, and they're the old old old style 90's seats which are awful to sit in. The non-IMAX is indistinguishable from a "regular" movie. Don't waste your time here unless you see the 70mm IMAX. The seats are itchy too, gf and I were both scratching our arms and legs the entire movie.

Nestor Bracho: We went to the premiere of the new series of peacock Twisted Metal it was absolutely amazing

Julian: My favorite movie theater that I go to. And I only go to this one because of how big it is. And because of DOLBY

Andy Phuong: Clean theater and friendly staff and huge screens ! Definetly will be back.

Sean Warpenburg: Best theater in the city 😇

Donell Clark: The theater itself is a great experience but was dissapointed with the food. My entire group got under cooked fries and Mozerella sticks, over cooked chicken tenders and stale popcorn

Jonathan Castillo: My go-to movie theater since I was a kid.

Alex Bota: Outdated

Valentina Simmons: It's a lovely theater. I love the motif for each auditorium entrance. They could use an upgrade to the seats though. Not very comfortable. Also, add the outside motif to the inside of each auditorium? Just saying. It would be a nice touch.

Margarita Ríos: Es un lugar muy pintoresco, grande, limpio y las sillas son muy cómodas. La experiencia vale la pena. Si vienes en horario de matiné puedes obtener 25% de descuento en el precio del boleto.

Chris rivera: First the pros: They have the best screen in the country especially for Oppenheimer. You should still come here for that 100%. Cons: they have a huge Roach problem. I walked into the men’s bathroom and saw 2 huge roaches the ones with wings that fly. I should have took a pic but anyone who was there on Friday at 10:30 am for the Oppenheimer showing in 70mm IMAX you know what in talking about.

Noah Langford: My first time seeing a film at the Quad Cinema. Very cozy and intimate space to watch some amazing independent and art films

Shonda Rodney: Nice place. Bar attached to the cinema. Company event.

Tom Wipf: Great experience- super clean- old school and new school snack choice. Comfy seats.

Village East by Angelika: what do users think?

Damon Ramos: Beautiful place

john shoemaker: Lovely old theatre.Smaller-than-average screens in some rooms. No reclining seats. But an east village classic spot.

S Bogframe: Beautiful theater built a a Yiddish Theater in the 1920s.

Manny Ruff: Watched Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and I had the best theater experience of my life. I haven’t experienced the smalls theaters, but the 70 mm room is so gorgeous and the History as well as the architecture enhances the movie going experience immensely. A must do in New York City.

Alec Sottosanti: Beautiful theatre, abysmal audio. I could make out maybe 40% of the dialogue and heard half of the crowd complaining about this as well. Seats are old and uncomfortable, AC isn’t working, heads in front of you obstruct the view. All the things that are somehow charming at the Angelika on Houston are a complete nightmare here.

Alec Bernal: , and excellent repertory programming.

Ray Carter: Nice old school feel

T L: Had a great experience for the Tribeca film festival to see For Khadija.

Maria Pilar A.: Great atmosphere and lovely theater feels unique!

Wesley Works: Classic East Village theater and multiple screens. Big screens and almost all seats have great visibility. This is one of the Tribeca Festival screening locations each June.

Joe Cabrera: Old but classic theater, great place to catch an indie film.

Mark Dighton: , but you'll see stuff here that most other people in the world may never have the chance to see

Vera Navratilova: I'm glad places like these are still around and showcasing something else than the mainstream... Thank you.

Shelley Hirsch: In incdible films old and new

Norman Sukkar: Love the building, love the stuff they show - hope it's around for a long, long time

John McGeehan: THE place for experimental, art, and avant-garde films. Filmmakers often in person. Support film!

Sydney Rae: A true gem. Also the woman who works at the box office was very kind.

SÉRGIO PARREIRA: Kind of messed up, I went here to watch a really great documentary film and I could not really focus with the noise of people eating stuff! Seriously man! ...

Regal Union Square 4DX & ScreenX: what do users think?

Jordan Cooper: I want to say I am glad Regal Union Square is still in business. I plan to go there a lot. But I had a very bad experience with Oppenheimer and feel ripped off. I paid extra for two 70mm tickets. The projection was aggressively shaky and unwatchable. I missed the beginning of the film because I went out to complain. An usher told me it was being fixed. What he didn't tell me what that it was fixed by switching to a lower quality digital projection, which became apparent to me as the movie continued. We traveled to the city to watch a 70mm print of this film, not a digital projection, which we could have done a few blocks from where we live. We wanted a refund but there were no employees anywhere when the film ended.

Scott Ellsworth: I had OPPENHEIMER tickets for 4 weeks. No one told me there’s no previews before the movie time starts for a 70MM film. How the hell! And by the way I was there 10 min before the movie started, but had to wait 15min for a hot dog to be ready? Because during the summer for the hottest movie ever we’re not getting hot dogs ready???!!!And then the seats, in Auditorium 17, are extremely uncomfortable. You have to brace your feet on the floor to put pressure on the back of the seat for it to recline less than an airplane seat in coach. And if it’s not reclining, you’re basically being pushed forward. For a movie I waited a year to see, this movie theatre pretty much ruined my experience. The taste left in my mouth will remain. I probably will never visit another Regal cinema theatre again.

felix soto: Neat, clean, refills on lg popcorn & soda organized.

Kai Harvey: Nice theater, but movies are completely unwatchable from the front row. Really shouldn't sell those.

Mei Quinn: I just want to have a word with whoever designed these seats...

Solo Flyer: . But what they failed to update was the seats; this is about Theatre 17. The seats are a tight fit and there is no reclining or putting the arm rests up; like other movie theatres. I watched Oppenheimer

In Kun Chun: customer who has trouble hearing here. Asked if I could get the closed caption glasses, but instead of offering help, the staff members just ignored me.

cailingodeas: The Theatre was freezing. ac blasting and very unpleasant. Chairs were not cleaned off from the previous audience and the bathroom lacked soap and toilet stalls were not cleaned. I paid $33 for a DX ticket which had 2D effects but the volume was not that loud and i could hear the conversation of audience members chatting behind me and 6 seats away. This theatre has declined considerably.

Kathy Wu: The seats were just... unreal. They're at an 80° angle, so you're in a hunchback. You can push back to tilt your seat back, but if you weigh less than 100 lbs, it'll be impossible to keep it in that position. I had to put my whole mind, body, and soul into trying to keep my seat pushed back. Made the movie a stressful experience, and I had a headache by the end of it. I feel like I need to do 3 hours of back yoga.

CC Mizrahi: Nice inside but unfortunately if you're short the chairs are REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE. The default incline is as vertical as a plane seat and the seat is so deep that I couldn't properly reach the floor as someone who's 5'2".

Lukasz Zbylut: Nice theater with high quality seats

Carlos Landy: Good

Hildon “Hilos” Jackson: Love it

Stephen McGroarty: The best movie experience in NYC.

Anna Krasovska: , to be on these seats. Me and my friends moved and seat on the floor and it was better than staying in our seats.

patrick devitt: Horrible since they rebranded

Stephen B: Love this place. Very comfortable.

REGINALD CEASER: The Theater Grate, The Film was FantasticRed Words, a must See for any one who canHandle the Truth

DJF: We attended a screening for the first time at the NYFF recently and truly loved the experience. The theater for our film was spacious, clean, and an auditory and visual delight. It is a pleasure to support Film at Lincoln Center and we're grateful to have such a world-renowned venue for arthouse/international film here in the Upper West Side.

Shaopeng Yuan: Very good place for some classics.

Ken Chin: Great room for new, retro and foreign films. Even front row seats are not too close to the screen. Been going to the New York Asian Film Festival for years and hope to continue do so.

Harris H: Would give zero stars if i could. Nasty and rude staff from the Asian Film festival. Been coming for years and will not be returning anytime soon. Two staff members particularly from the korean film showings who treats the audience members with disrespect

Marcos Dos Santos: Parece cinema em casa. E pouca gente frequenta

Juliana Ferrone: An array of iconic, foreign and mainstream movies. Lots of variety...comfy chairs and great bar with lunch and coffee

Bojana Vidakovic: We saw The Great Gatsby just a few days ago. I would recommend this theatre experience to everyone. The terrace space is great, nicely decorated, chairs comfortable, nice selection of drinks, light breeze. Will be back for sure!

Laura B: Great experience, stale popcorn, drinks over priced!

Errol “Emo” Mo: Great experience, fun date night

Isabel Santiago: They’re always showing fun movies, so check out the list on their site!!

Rajnish Kapur: It was little hot on the Rooftop in the Sun. The alcoholic drinks were overpriced at the bar.

Drea Gonzalez: I love this place my daughter and boyfriend enjoyed the movie UP, it was a perfect day the weather was perfect we felt so comfy

Yashika Bethel: Great experience! Great way to end and fast New York day

Mar Laz: Fun times, great vibe, excellent service and drinks!! Staff is awesome and very friendly!

Jay Smith: Absolutely awesome experience! Staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks & food were great! Great vibe! Will be checking for future viewings 💕

elvin: Great experience with my wife. We're definitely going again with some friends. 👌

Jayjay Simmone: It was a new and fun experience. I really enjoyed it. I definitely glad I splurged on the premium seats because they looked and were very comfortable... the staff was super nice and helpful. I did not partake in any libations but the bar looked like it had a good selection. Would love to do it again.

Jared Canizales: Overall a fun experience! The rooftop is really nice looking and kept clean. There's a good breeze, which is great for a summer night. The screen is decent - it's a large LED screen like what you'd see in a stadium, as opposed to a projector. So while the picture quality isn't quite as crisp, the screen is still bright before sunset. The chairs aren't anything special, but surprisingly comfortable for what they are. My only real complaint is the headphones - they are uncomfortable and the sound quality is rather poor, including some occasional static/crackling noises from poor connection. By the end of the movie my ears were pretty sore.

Afiya Ricks: Had a great time, enjoyed the picture opps & the chairs were comfty & drinks

chrisandra harvey: Cute spot for a chill summer night

Sabreena Mare: Great Place...Wonderful Staff!! The atmosphere is Awesome...It was giving me out of space vibes!!! 💥💫💢👍👍 2 thumbs up for me!!!! PERIOD!!!
