    Jo Ann Brown: Happy to see the revitalization of such a lovely and iconic stretch of beach but along with the expanded food options and transportation amenities comes the big crowds. On par to say the sand is on its way to being as crowded as Rockaway beach. Not necessarily a bad thing, just a different vibe. The renovation of the art deco bath house is going to be epic in 2024.

    Gerard (genyc79): Need a break from the craziness of NYC? Need a nice beach for a summer afternoon in the sun? Riis Park and Beach is what you need. Clean, accessible and pleasant, it's a good area that is kept in good condition by the National Park Service. In fact, you may forget that you're still in the borough of Queens. But one FYI, the parking booths no longer take cash, card only.

Person making reservation must be at least eighteen (18) years old. An adult, eighteen (18) years or older, must be present at the campsite for the duration of the stay. All persons staying in the campsite must be listed at check-in.

    Outside wood is not permitted. Collecting firewood in the park is not permitted.

    Tying or attaching hammocks, clotheslines or tarps to trees is prohibited.

    RVs/Trailers are not allowed in designated tent camping sites. Tents are not allowed at designated RV/Trailer sites.

    Reservations at this location are limited to a maximum of 14 consecutive nights. Tents must be moved every 5 days to prevent resource damage.

    4worldlovers: Fort Tilden is a former military site that overlooks the approach to New York Harbor and today includes athletic fields, hiking trails, an arts center, a theater, and an observatory deck on a historic battery offering spectacular views of Jamaica Bay, New York Harbor, and the Manhattan skyline. Dunes, a maritime forest, freshwater ponds, and coastal defense resources including Battery Harris and the Nike Missile Launch Site are also found here.

    Foster McLaughlin: I love it here on the weekends when the park is full and everyone is having a great time. I dont like though that the parks department does not hold people accountable for their mess. It ruins the park for everyone later on. I feel like there should be parks people present during the weekend holding people accountable for the waste they bring and leave behind.My backyard! Beautiful! Great place to escape and feel like you have some space to breathe. Amazing space to go for runs and never feel like it's dull.Playground: There are 2 playgrounds on both the North side and South side of the parkRestrooms: There is a public restroom near the Isham and Seaman entrance.Dog-friendliness: So many dogs here and a great dog run too.Picnic area: Such a beautiful place for a picnic and in the peninsula where the little league park is you can barbeque there only.
