Graff Tours: what do users think?

Patricia H: My son and I had a fantastic time today at Graff Tours' graffiti class. The class is limited to a handful of students at a time given the small size of the studio, which looked really cool and was well ventilated. They use water soluble spray paint, so there aren't any fumes to worry about, but they have masks on hand, if requested. Lief was our instructor and was great - really patient and answered any questions that we had. He also covered up any parts that we messed up a little. Since my son and I were together, we ended up sharing a big canvas. There was another family of 6 there, and 5 of them shared another canvas. In the end, you get to keep your finished piece. Street parking is available - if you go on a Sunday, it's free. Lots of beautiful street art in that area too.

Jez Everest: Great fun, really friendly guys, cool and unusual thing to do.

erika dina marengo: Beautiful. Highly recommended. The staff very well prepared. My kids loved it.

Sandy Kwon: Had so much fun in Mims’s class. He’s an excellent teacher and made the experience so enjoyable, even for an artistically challenged person like me. Such a fun date with my partner. This would be such a great activity for teams as well. Def recommend!!

Family Brown: stepped in as needed to keep things on track. Perfect length of time: an efficient experience but a lifetime of memories. Leaving with your own creation was fabulous...it is a very creative structure for this workshop. We were a family of four with teens...highly recommended.

Rebecca Kovalcik: We had such a blast with Envy! She showed us basics, let us practice, gave us free reign and even had time to spray some t-shirts. She couldn’t have been more warm and open to showing us the ropes. She had us laughing the entire time, and we made a rad piece for our apt. Envy - thank you for a fun night!

Jake Pullman: Had a really fun time. Leaf talked us through it and helped us make a real work of art.

Joe K: I recently had a very disappointing experience at Graff Tours. My friends and I paid $200 for a graffiti tour and were promised a 1.5-hour session. However, our experience fell far short of our expectations. The guide painted my name without giving me any opportunity to participate or learn, and when we tried to engage with him, he seemed annoyed and dismissive. To make matters worse, we were rudely kicked out after only an hour, even though we had paid for a longer session. This was incredibly disappointing and left us feeling cheated out of our money and time.Overall, I would not recommend this tour to anyone looking for an interactive and educational graffiti experience. The lack of engagement, dismissive behavior, and early dismissal made for an incredibly unsatisfying experience.

Yennie: with alex

Harold Klein: We truly take advantage of many inspiring and enlightening activities NYC offers. This experience will be on the top of our recommendations list. We now have a new understanding, appreciation and fascination of Graffiti culture. And Audrey our guide.....well, I venture to say there are not many if any like her. The knowledge and passion for this "Sport" is likely unmatched. Couple that with her ability to communicate and magnetic way of communicating and you have a great day!,

Ute Hellebuyck: The 2-hour Graff tour was beyond amazing for me. Andrea introduced me to the history of graffiti and street art as well as its "language". The wealth of information by an insider gave me a whole new insight into the street art culture. Do not miss this tour.

Wendy Baquerizo: We had such a cool experience learning graffiti basics from Envy. Envy is very passionate and brings her love of the art of graffiti to the class, she excites and hypes you up. We loved it all. Ty Envy 3

Abigail Gepner: I did a workshop here with my partner as a gift. Overall it was a really fantastic experience, and I was surprised at how much we were able to learn and do in an hour. The instructor did a wonderful job of getting through a lot of basic techniques thoroughly and quickly – he was patient and attentive and made sure everyone learned what they needed to create a beautiful custom one of a kind piece to take home. We had a great time, and I would definitely recommend!

Min Sun Song: Ghost was a great and patient teacher 10/10 recommend! Was a great birthday party activity and the birthday girl also gets to take home the art on canvas!

Heart of the Art NYC: what do users think?

Marc Thiery: We loved the tour with Emily. Super knowledgeable about art, great way of explaining it in a way that it is interesting and entertaining. My kids loved the tour. Very personable and kind.

Myra McCormack: We had a great afternoon with Emily yesterday. While she SAID she hadn't done a tour of the new MOMA O'Keefe exhibit - you wouldn't have known it. Just the right amount of depth and she was knowledgeable and engaging!

Eilish O'Kelly: . She was also excellent to communicate with before the date itself.Numerous people have mentioned it as a highlight of the weekend. Would absolutely recommend!

Ken Tsai: engaged, but had our children 6/9 rapt for two hours. She paced our expedition at the Met perfectly. I couldn’t recommend her more highly. We will do this again !

Leslie Ramirez: Communicated with Emily - very prompt response. Easy to work with via email. We were initially disappointed to hear Emily was not available for a tour of the MOMA the day we requested- but she offered to set us up with her colleague Virginia. I am thrilled to report that Virginia far exceeded our expectations! What a delight! We communicated our interests about what we hoped to get out of the tour and she knocked it out of the park! She put the paintings in historical context, gave fun back stories and had such a great energy and obvious love for the art- it really elevated the tour and made for a delightful experience. We are a group of 4 middle aged ladies who travel to NYC annually for a girls trip and our 2 hours with Virginia was one of the highlights of our trip! Highly recommend!

Summer Louchheim: I could not recommend Emily more highly. We spent two hours with her touring the highlights of the Museum of Modern Art on an exceedingly busy Sunday afternoon. Emily helped us to navigate the crowds brilliantly and delivered an exceptionally interesting, informative experience. Her knowledge of art and art history is vast, and she is able to communicate this efficiently, concisely, and colorfully. The two hours flew by. We were two moms with our two young adults; all of us walked away from the tour wowed by Emily and excited to visit another museum with her one day soon. I normally find experiences like this through word-of-mouth; this time I found Emily online and WOW did I ever luck out. She is an absolute gem and we would recommend her to young and old museum visitors alike!!!

Orchid Alexa: I can not begin to thank you for our wonderful art tour yesterday. I absolutely loved seeing the art we discussed in our virtual classes like Vermeer who we covered in detail, even through Zoom; it was so surreal. We started with the new period room installation at the Met where we experienced a curated room of black art. You were so knowledgable on this contemporary project and answered all of our questions. Then you moved to break down one of my favorite paintings of all time by Emanuel De Witte during our Dutch painting walkthrough. I didn’t even realize the that the entire church had been changed to white, thus stripping it of its Catholic origins. Learning things like these are why your tours are so unique, you truly leave learning the ins and outs of each piece. Thank you for always indulging us in such a rich art education. You always make us have insightful conversations with the art and I always leave having learned so much from you.

Markayla Theus: Thank you so much for such a wonderful day at the MET.I learned so much about Dutch art, that I wasn’t able to learn while taking art history this semester. My favorite part about our tour was learning about Rembrandt as an artist and his personal life. And also that most of the artists featured were from Haarlem, my neighborhood’s namesake. The Impressionism and Post-Impressionism art we viewed was phenomenal. And the Tudor Dynasty Exhibit was absolutely amazing.I hope we are able to do this again soon, and I am looking forward to seeing you next time!

Meg Jones: Emily was fantastic, very engaging and my kids loved the tour! I definitely recommend having a tour guide and Emily was so knowledgeable and accommodating.

Christine Lazzara: What a pleasure to work with Emily and Heart of the Art. I retained Emily to create a scavenger hunt of the new Chroma exhibition at the Met, and she supplied high-end pencils and all the tools to deploy the hunt with skill and great fun. The kids, of all ages I might add, were so engaged for nearly two hours. Working with Emily end-to-end was a breeze. You can summon her for any tour or project at the Met. She will not disappoint!

Clayton Vetter: Emily’s knowledge is incredible and she tailored a tour for exactly the time we had. Cannot recommend her enough.

Gareth Moolman: Unforgettable experience!

Gregory Segal: If you are looking for art tours in NYC, you can stop looking -- you've found the best one. I found Emily a few months back while looking to give my wife several art tours as a gift. Emily helped me pull together a special gift and we had the first tour today. Emily is a remarkably talented guide, combining both incredible knowledge with a gift for storytelling. We spent several hours today at the Met with Emily and she was able to make the tour interesting and engaging for both my wife, who has background in art history, and myself, an art novice. Emily deftly crafted an itinerary based on my wife's favorite types of art while also bringing to life pieces that we'd previously have walked by without any second thought. Truly cannot recommend Emily more highly enough. We have two more tours with her and are so, so excited.

Will Treves: which was great because it means one size does not need to fit all. She certainly knows her material, but not in a way which is too dry and academic. Her style is accessible and fun. Four thumbs up from us.

kelly lu: , my friends and I learned and enjoyed so much that my friends said they were to keep in touch with Emily to come back not only themselves, but also to bring their children, for more sessions! Thank you Emily for a wonderful time with us on a nice Sunday afternoon! We have booked our 2nd tour with Emily already!

Susan Aguren: Emily is the tour guide I needed traveling solo to the Met. She's knowledgeable, bright and knows the Met's collections incredibly well. Best of all - she's very unpresumptuous and answers all questions as if she's talking to a friend. I love and appreciate art - just don't know much about it - so Emily was a delight to walk me through that massive building.

Victoria Wang: Amazing tour! We requested a classy bachelorette tour about love and gender equality with the bride to be’s favorite paintings and art movements. Emily did such an amazing job giving us the tour, taking into account all our requests! It was so engaging and on theme throughout! If you have a classy bride who loves art, this is for sure the tour to do!

Amanda Tan: Emily was the most wonderful guide, with such precious stories that brought the museum to life. We had a great time learning secrets of the museum while appreciating art in various forms. The whole tour felt really special and conspiratorial, which I think is absolutely the best way to experience a place filled with such history and heritage. If you have the luxury of time, I'd say visit the museum once by yourself and then book a tour with Emily. You'll learn so much when you experience the museum in such different ways, and you get to ask her any questions you might have from the past visit. But if you're short on time, go straight to Emily and you won't regret!

Sarah Tan: Having Emily with you at The Met is like travelling through the beauty of the ages with an intuitive guide. A great storyteller, she draws you into details you would have likely missed on your own. Expert knowledge aside, Emily made our group feel at ease immediately with her friendly rapport. A gem!

Brett Kalinsky: Emily from Heart of the Art is a true gem. She makes you believe in the power of the NYC experience. My mom and my husband felt so special while they were with Emily. She is personable, engaging and extremely knowledgeable and warm. We will definitely be booking more tours with Emily and Heart of the Art.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art: what do users think?

Chris Siegle: This was honestly my first time visiting an art museum. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was surprised at how incredible and moving the art was. I realize this is obvious to some, but I truly had no idea how captivating it would be. Not being a fan, we'd only set aside an afternoon for our visit. We were there for four hours, saw as much as we could, and wish we could have spent more time at the Met. Of course our favorite section, as first time visitors, was the European section but we also enjoyed many other sections. The Van Gogh exhibit about the Cypresses was interesting and informative; enlightening to see the process and iterations of a master's evolution of his craft. We spent a few minutes in the cafe, which was well organized and easy to access. We did have a hard time navigating, especially around the closed sections and would appreciate digital maps that would help navigating around closures.

Dominique Holliday: The MET did not disappoint. We recommend going for at least one full day to really take in all of the art work. We felt like we didn’t have enough time with the Art after going for 5 hours. The museum is thoughtfully curated and everything feels super intentional with their design choices. We had the chance to see the Van Gough exhibit that is on view while we were there and it was STUNNING. We also really enjoyed all of the beautiful glass pieces and their extensive stained glass collection that is on display throughout the entire Museum.

Carolyn Weddell: A literal treasure trove. When the special exhibitions are too daunting due to crowds, we fall back on the superb Japan gallery and American wing -- but really, any hall here is filled with marvels. And as noted previously re the restaurant: Wonderful views, lovely dining area, solicitous staff, luscious & imaginative food.

The Bushwick Collective: what do users think?

Hosaeng Kim: I looked at various graffiti works on a Brooklyn tour.

Eric Jetner: Bushwick in Brooklyn NYC is fantastic. For fans of Street Art this is the place to go. Everything open around 5 pm. So if you wanna enjoy love music and entertainment go there by the end of the day. However to enjoy the street art go there during the day. You won’t be disappointed. Also great vintage stores.

Miranda Yang: the area was cool, full of organic murals. but it was also dirty 😬 with a lot of litter lying on the street. comparatively, miami wynwood is much better maintained. on the weekend, the neighborhood is very quiet with almost no one around.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry Free …

Larry Love: I work in bushwick for 11 years and the art work always surprises me

Andrea Wimmer: If you are in NYC, you should definitely make a detour there. A neighborhood that stands out with great graffiti. It's definitely cooler there in the evenings when the bars are open.

Ken Rodriguez (Krgplaces): Great wall murals, with many to choose from in such a colorfull area.

Viktor Sorg: Street-Art Champions League

Angela Rosa: When I tell you having an apartment in Brooklyn is unlike anything else and unlike where else I mean it. This is one of the reason that we kept our apartment after moving to Fairfield county.Brooklyn is a magical place… every neighborhood is a unique ecosystem unlike another. But the greatest of these is Bushwick. We attended the Block party and we have zero regrets. Held in the heart of Bushwick with the Bushwick collective this an amazing place for drinks and music! The culture, the art work and the graffiti is artistic expression at its best. Seeing the works of local artists is profound! We ate from the local vendors, played giant connect four and drink beer and martinis which crowd watching on the mock Sandy beach! Great great time here.

Francois C: Open air museum

Bianca Li: one of those places that is really fun and doesn't even cost anything! great for taking photos. impressive street art worth seeing. easy to reach by subway!

Les chuchoteries de céline: It's just amazing to walk the streets in the middle of all these street art works. We want to take pictures every two seconds. There is fabulous workmanship on each fresco. A real pleasure for the eyes, not to be missed.

Nancy W: The art in life makes people feel the cry from the bottom of their hearts

J. N.: 2 hour walk with countless graffities.. Super

Mark Gentry: I've done several tours with Mark of New York Walking Tours. The last was to a section of Manhattan's Lower East Side, an area I had never been to and didn't even know it existed. We started out with great (and inexpensive) Dim Sum in a real, non-commercial Chinese area. We had a pleasant walk to the east through a surprisingly quiet and peaceful area of lower Manhattan. We got a tour of the historic Eldrige St. Synagogue, built in the 19th century and fairly recently restored. Walked on to the area of the Henry Street Settlement. Mark was knowledgeable about the history of both locations. He is a friendly, down to earth person with lots of knowledge about NYC. Mark is particularly well-versed in the architectural history of New York. Hoping to take his Upper Harlem tour at some point.

Private Museum Tours: what do users think?

Evgeniya Ezhova: Maria and private museum tour company changed the way we interract with the art and historic treasures in NYC. I have hired Maria for my son’s first tour to the Natural History Museum and we have never taken another tour in NYC museums without her ever since. She is the most knowlegable, kind, engaging guide one can ask for. My son rated his tour above all the other activities during the trip and said Maria impacted him in the most positive way. How often we go to museums and galeries and get nothing out of the visit, as its too much to see and its almost overwhealming. With private museum tours you can spend your time effectively and get the most out of your visit. I would highly recomend her service and I am forever thankful for the impact she made on my son, his love for art and history.

The Catt: Simply fabulous. We did two separate tours with Maria, and they were wonderful. We first did the Empty Met private tour. Maria asked us beforehand about our particular interests in order to customize the tour, and then whisked us through the Met to see the highlights and what matched our interests. Her enthusiasm and love for the Met and its art are infectious. Our teen/tween children, who were ready to boycott all museum visits after a previous vacation, loved the trip and considered it a highlight of our New York trip. After the success of our first tour, we booked a tour of MOMA as well for the four of us, which was equally delightful. It couldn't quite compete with an Empty Met, but was still wonderful.

Gabriel Pataro: .We learned and experienced the Met, ANHM, and a tour of New York in an incredible way. The kids adored her and we had the best of times, creating timeless memories. Thanks so much to Anthony and Ron too for the tour on Wednesday.Looking forward to a next tour with you when visiting NYC!!

Peter Jun: Booked Maria for a morning at The Met and an afternoon at the AMNH for my family with three teenage kids.Maria created a dynamic and educational experience that the kids enjoyed thoroughly. It was a lot of information but we were able to cover the major exhibits at both museums. Definitely an efficient use of time with priority access and no waiting in line.I would definitely recommend booking the private Met tour when it’s closed on Wednesdays. It’s magical being in The Met with very few other people around with works of art.Highly recommend Maria and her company!

SAIMAN JACKSON: Everything good

William Glazier: Absolutely Wonderful tour with Maria Yoon. I have toured all over the world playing concerts for renown opera singers and have consequently toured almost all of the major museums from Cairo to Amsterdam.I can honestly say this was the best tour I ever had. Maria is knowledgeable, eloquent, informative and sensitive to the needs of each participant. The fact that she is Movie Star beautiful is a welcome addition.I look forward to bringing more of my influential clients for her future tours

Karlston JIN: Recently, I had the pleasure of partaking in a private museum tour with Maria and Michelle. This was my first time doing anything of the sort, so I was a little bit apprehensive about booking it, but I am very glad I did. Maria evokes your imagination through her expert storytelling, so much so that I felt compelled to walk with her every move and bear witness to the colors that protruded from her words despite the painting illustrated in black and white. I have taken many art history courses in the past, but with Maria, I was able to understand the context behind each artwork and realize the depth of beauty that exists behind each craft. Prior to the tour, Maria had asked me what type of artwork I looked forward to visiting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and my answer was impressionism. She had gone above and beyond to ensure that I was not only learning new information in such an engaging manner but also allowed me to reevaluate my understanding of impressionist artwork. With Michelle, I have to commend her on her academic knowledge. During my tour with her in the Guggenheim museum, she effortlessly recalled information about each painter in such meticulous and observant detail. Her comments regarding each painting left me astounded that I lingered a while longer even after the tour was finished.Overall, a wonderful job.

Naomi Plotkin: I have experienced a wonderful museum tour with Maria at the Met. It was a tour of a lifetime. She was fun and informative. I was totally enraptured in her magnetic story telling style.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $31+ …

Mark Chung: I took Maria’s Zoom tour after being told about it by a friend—it was an amazing experience! I highly recommend it for anyone interested!

Tiziana Lozito: Having a museum or exhibition tour with Maria is THE experience you were looking for. If you live in NYC like me or if you are visiting this beautiful and unique city you will be more than happy to be guided by her. She will literally walk you in the artist’s life and point of view behind every single piece of art, with all the contrasts and history around it. I had many tours with her and I’m already scheduling the next one, can’t wait for it!

Leesa Abahuni: I discovered Maria’s tours during the pandemic, and I can’t wait to experience it in person. I participated in a few virtual tours and also watched some on YouTube. She will take you on a journey!! Maria’s tours are for anyone who loves art or wants to share their love of art with another. It’s an interactive experience, really fun and very informative. I highly recommend!!

kumiko nasu: I participated in Maria Yoon’s virtual tour for Mother’s Day. She was very knowledgeable and informative about the arts knowing the history and background. You can tell her passion for the arts. I enjoyed the tour also because she interacted with all the participants and she made the tour very interesting. I can’t wait to have another museum tour with Maria, this time in-person. I know it will be another wonderful experience. I highly recommend her tour.

Elisabetta Pienti: I love taking tours with Maria! I took many of them and for sure I’m going to take more.. she can really suggest the latest art events and make you have a great art experience! Each time it is different and each time I go home enriched! We love speaking about art and share our points of view! I really suggest to try her!

Kevin Oakes: What an amazing experience. Maria is super knowledgeable and so friendly. We learned so much and had so much fun together. It is a completely unique experience to be toured through the moma with a real art curator !

Grace Shi: Maria’s virtual class was so much fun! I liked it better than my college courses online. If you like ART as much as I do, you should sign up either with Maria or her team. Love her!

Jesus Fontamillas: We received excellent customized tour of the New York's finest museums. Curated to meet our family's needs given the timeframe, we recommend this unique opportunity to explore the art world via Private Museum Tours. Highly educated and personable staff, we received VIP access and experience. Put this on your Must do list.

Rhoda Ostrow: Maria Yoon was charming and knowledableRe korean art as well as other galleries at theMet. I was entertaining guests from the WestCoast who were impressed as well. I wholeHeartedly recommend her service. RhodaOstrow.

Nikolaus Kunze: Certainly the most interesting art museum in New York. The architecture may not be as extraordinary as at the Guggenheim, but I enjoyed the exhibition all the more.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $21–30 …

New York City Photo Safari: what do users think?

Mike Johnson: We met our Safari tour guide Zim at Grand Central Terminal and she was thorough as she inspected our small group’s cameras and asked for our expectations. She then used her experience to show us examples of what to take photos of and how.We walked many blocks outdoors getting great shots - then inside the terminal. She showed us unique and interesting spots and told good stories about the places we visited. We ended up at Times Square and got some great non tourist shots. She was a pro and a joy to tour with.

Anas Qaraman: Amazing experience with Zim! Zim is very accommodating and experienced photographer, l have passion for photography and I dealt previously with many photographers, by all means the tour led by Zim is a different standard. We covered different places in NYC focusing on architecture and long exposures, I have also learned a big deal when it comes to composition. Thank you so much and looking forward to join you in other global tours !

Michael: tough lighting situations where we had to prioritize one subject over another. We captured details of grand ceilings, massiveness of trees, and movement in the elaborate design of Central Park.I would recommend this course to all photographers who are looking to expand their knowledge, challenge themselves, and want an unforgettable experience. Zim was kind, patient, hilarious, and made an excellent 'best friend' for my photos. Thank you Zim, and the team at NYC Photo Safari!!!

Jeremy Peisner: . They took the group I was with all over Central Park giving us many beautiful angles to shoot. We also got a whole bunch of useful freebies along the way! The guides were very professional and had a ton of experience and knowledge about the art of photography. I would definitely recommend them!

Eric Boyd: Zim was great. Very knowledgeable and attuned to the interests and skills of the group. Definitely recommend.

Brady Hansen: , and really had a lot of fun. It was a great "date" with my wife, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about photography and making great photos in NYC! By the way, the photo that is attached to this post is before any edits.

Paul Bird: Just completed the Iconic NY safari with Zim - she was skilled, enthusiastic, quick witted and "sassy" with the communication skills to engage with all participants, spending time with each of the group regardless of our background or level of sophistication of our camera equipment on honing a new skill or proving feedback on our efforts. I wish had I had the time to do a number of the other Safari options offered. I would certainly recommend NYCity Photo Safari to anyone wanting that extra inspiration to get out their camera and engage with this beautiful city.

Jan W: We took the Iconic New York photo safari with Zim. Such a great experience! She happily works with anyone who has any type of photographic equipment, from just an iphone to elaborate cameras with multiple lenses. She gives easy-to-remember advice, like "don't be greedy," which means to focus in on what you are really trying to photograph, rather that trying to capture too much. She has a great route planned that covers many interesting photographic opportunities. Highly recommended!!!

Alison Pretious: WOW, This photo safari made my holiday complete, I came back to the UK with amazing pictures. The safari was so well organized and each person received personal attention from Zim, who had such a brilliant knowledge of the area and the way that she explained how to achieve the best picture was easy to understand and having little photo skills I really learnt so much and felt totally at ease. All my questions and more was answered in a way that I understood. If you are going to NYC this photo safari company IS THE BEST! "Enjoy".
