Ashok V (शोक नास्ति यस्य): Very unprofessional, I tried to trade a watch in, and they gave it back because the "misunderstood" the size of the movement of the pocket watch. This was after they accused me of sending in a watch that was broken as they could not get it started. Very unprofessional! Then they charged me 250 bucks for insured shipping to send my watch back! I had to have the credit card cancel the charges to get my money back. I would stay away.
HERM PAZ: I add a second star because Mrs. & Mr. Faber have an exquisite taste in jewelry. I used to be a regular client here, until a few years ago a blond lady joined them, and in my opinion she's THE GROSSEST SALESPERSON, and she shouldn't have a job where she has contact with people! Since them I've been keeping away. Pity.

Søren Beech: Avoid! Dishonest. Aaron Faber Gallery sold me a water damaged and rusted Patek Phillippe watch and would not return or exchange it after 10 day return period. At time of purchase watch was described as freshly serviced and in rust free perfect condition.
Linda Stein: Bought a ring there on approval. Returned the ring within a week. After many days waiting for my return check, it finally came. Only the numbers were inverted so they shorted me four hundred dollars. They didn’t seemed surprised when I called and said I was sending the check back for the correct amount, I always wondered if it really was unintentional because it didn’t feel like it. Now that I see other reviews, I was lucky to get the check in the right amount.

3 D: Are you planning to consign your valuables at Aaron Faber Gallery? STOP! Take a deep breath and search for another option such as selling your valuables online. You will get so little money for your jewelry and valuables here. It is not worthy. They will pay you in more than 30 days, you will need to chase them for your money; such as calling and leaving them messages. I learned the hard way, and I don't want another person to feel disappointed as I do. If you go there to sell, go with a family member or best friend, so both of you can ask questions because they are not transparent or genuine. They do not openly disclose vital information about payment time. Ask questions and good luck.

Robert Schreiber: Grand Central Watch has been a life saver for my early 1950's Rolex semi-bubbleback men's watch. It had stopped running and had a great deal of sentimental value. GSW did a full restoration of this 70+ year old watch. They had or found the needed parts. When I got it back it was just a terrific time piece. I had to resist wearing it daily. It wasn't a cheap restoration but it was a fair price that I gladly paid.All the people I interacted with were just the BEST, from Crystal, who took my original call; to Steve Kivel, the owner: to Steve's wife, who took care of the followup. This is a family, hands on business that knows Rolex and customer service.I am so happy with my dealings with them and thankful I found them to restore my Rolex. Central Watch did the warranty work. Rather than write a whole new review, I'll copy-paste the email I sent to Central and Baltic here:"I wanted to let each of you know that I've received my watch back and am very happy!!I received more communication about the status of my watch than I even expected. The two times I contacted Central via email, I actually received a phone call rather than an email reply...and within the same hour! Like, NOBODY does that.I was also told that my watch would be "adjusted" which had me very excited as I recently learned what that word means in horological terms. Previously the movement was 15 seconds fast which was already better than most of my other watches. The watch returned to me from Central running only 10 seconds fast. So obviously I'm super happy with that!And it seems that either the crystal was replaced or buffed out because the scratch that was on it is now gone.Anyway, I just want it to be known that I am so please to be connected with your two companies, Baltic and Central. Thank you very much for your wonderful service."

If this were a designer watch or even a high end Benrus, I might be able to understand a quote of this amount, but it certainly seems very inappropriate for a watch that maybe cost $20 when new in 1954. I'm actually shocked that they would even propose such an expensive repair for such an inexpensive watch. They did not offer any less expensive services with the quote.Needless to say, I declined the repair. I paid the $125 fee plus $20 for return shipping as agreed.So overall, I was disappointed with this experience.

They have done exceptional work on multiple vintage watches for me, including overhauls for a vintage Omega Seamaster, two vintage Caravelle "Devil Divers" from the 60s, and repairs for vintage 1970s Seikos.Their fast response times and excellent communication set Grand Central Watch apart. They always provide initial quotes quickly and confirm estimates after disassembly. The quality of their work is always outstanding, and their turnaround times are very reasonable.They are also great for those with sentimental pieces that require special care. They are refurbishing a friend's Elgin that belonged to her grandfather and providing a fair and reasonable quote. I trust them completely to handle this family heirloom with the utmost care.Overall, if you want reliable, trustworthy, and high-quality watch repairs, Grand Central Watch is the place to go.
Hanson Walker: Overall "OK" experience. They were perfectly nice and even chatted with the owner Steve who was great. Dropped my watch because the movement/dial was loose. Was nervous reading reviews saying that they would only do a full 'overhaul', and that was exactly my experience. I'm not sure if the reason I dropped it off made it anywhere but they quoted me almost $1,000 saying it needed a full overhaul. It didn't seem like fixing the issue I came in for was an option. Well, I declined the estimate, came home, opened it up, tightened a screw, and fixed the problem myself. I wasn't charged for the estimate. I would recommend you go somewhere else if you're a competent watch owner and know exactly what your issue is and can communicate it to another watchmaker who can follow your instructions. If you need a complete overhaul - I WOULD trust Central Watch to do it. Also, they have an incredible selection of vintage watches that I'm sure have recv'd a full servicing. Edit - I hate having to say this but when I came to pick it up after they said it was ready, they told me it was in Steve's office and he was in a meeting so they couldn't get it. I had to sit outside for an hour waiting until he was done with the meeting. I only say this hoping they realize that if a customer is there trying to pick up, they should have a way to interrupt the meeting and grab the watch for the customer that is there waiting.

I was overwhelmed and did not like the response I got from the first dealer I contacted - who wanted to buy on the spot without valuation. When I called Adam, he offered to come and give me estimates on everything and gave me the time to do due diligence in a fair and honest manner. He was patient and kind and I found his process to be honest and transparent which was comforting at a difficult time. He is very knowledgeable and what he didn’t know, he had resources for. Sheryl B: I’m usually wary of companies that advertise in local publications, but I took a chance and called Syl-Leeas I had a large quantity of vintage jewelry that I needed to sell. Adam returned my call very quickly and we made an appointment to come to my home and assess what I had. He arrived on time and took his time looking at the 34 shoeboxes of earrings, bracelets and necklaces, telling me as he worked what had value and could easily be sold and what had less value. He made me feel comfortable and at the end of his ‘work’ made me an offer for the whole lot. He was respectful, not pushy or aggressive and I told him I would think about it. I waited 2 weeks and made my decision and he came over and took everything. Adam was a pleasure to work with, knowledgeable and professional.
